Simplified way of doing a Manual Entry on a Tachograph machine. Hope it helps someone out there :) Business Email: GLADeady@Yahoo.com Instagram: Deady2012
I’m new to the HGV industry and never really got shown how to do manual entries which is something the company I work for ask me to do. Thanks to your video I can now comfortably do manual entries. So many thanks Deady! Keep up the brill vids 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you manual entry was the only subject i wasn't quite sure about. I watched and listened you explained it clearly this has been a great help now i have a fleet of 100 + drivers watching you.
Thank you for this video. I've checked out dozens of videos on this particular topic and yours was the most explanatory. You've been a great help. Stay safe and well. Andy.
I'm a few months into my first job after passing. I'd always been put off using manual entry by my supervisors as they said it was a minefield. This has shown me just how simple it is. Tried it for the first time today without issue. Cheers mate. Much appreciated.
Brilliant explanation man. I’m amazed at how many experienced drivers don’t know how to do it. Two years in I asked two experienced drivers and they didn’t know. It’s something that doesn’t appear to be taught.
Nice one mate. The other thing if you just show as jumping in and driving off would ask them to question if you'd actually done your walk around check. Yeah, you might have a bit of paper with ticks on it but they could and probably would say, " well, when did you do that" i Once they start seeing things like that they'll dig further. Absolutely the correct thing to keep accurate records. Spot on . Ive been a TM for 15 years, never been on the wrong side of DVSA or the OTC, but it's proper unpleasant when they come knock on the door
Quite well explained there my good man. All the general knowledge of tachos in one fell swoop 👍🏻. On a different subject, just had my first day back driving on the trucks again after nearly four months of being furloughed!!!!!
Thank you mate, ive been driving for donkeys years, and normally its us old timers giving you young lads stick, you should have done this you should be doing that etc etc. well ive tried allsorts to get my head round how to do manual entries and i havent been able to do them, i always balls them up and the knock on is it effects driving hours and so on. This is the first video ive seen that makes it clear how to do them. so from an old know all, thanks again mate, much appreciated. Drive safe buddy
Cheers Deady that is the best and easiest description of how to make a manual entry, brilliant ! Keep on trucking and ring when tipped ! Regards Tony H.
Come back to driving after 15 year break. Watched many videos and other drivers at work but couldn't get my head round it. Perfectly explained and in simple terms that even a lory driva could understand 🤣🤣🤣👍
Great Tips Deady. 100% correct about agency work, I've got to the yard before and waited for a truck to come back. As you say your work time starts the moment you arrive at the yard.
thank you very much, you won't believe the videos I've watched. your video is the 1st that I've understood. just by simply putting your finger over the bottom line. it might seem daft but when you've had drivers explaining and still finding it difficult.
Nice one Deady, simple straight forward no noncence information, cheers matey. As you said Gareth, always keep a record of all that you have done, that way there can be no mistakes.all the best to you & the family as always, Stay safe & keep on truckin'.
Just done the first of my CPC renewal modules and the tutor told us to look on YT to find out how to do a manual entry rather than tell us himself! Glad he did in the end as your explanation was crystal clear - well done!
Best explanation I’m likely to see so will stick to this video. Will be doing some agency work shortly and one of the companies who I will be driving for pay you the hours recorded on your driver card so it’s important to do manual entries if you want to get paid properly, thanks, Chris.
I saw this video 6 weeks ago during my assessment and i memorised it but I didn’t start work till 6 weeks later during which I had forgotten how to do manual entry but because of this video I was always calm that I don’t need to worry
Brilliant mukka , your explanation of manual entry's has helped me out alot , I'm only 7.5 and only got out from time to time so remembering how to do a manual entry was very difficult. But with your video I'm spot on so cheers fella👍🏻
Great explanation pal.I very rarely do manual entries I just stick da card in when I start and take it out when I finish obviously changing da mode to other work or break
Top vlog again Deady thank you for taking the time to show us these aspects of the job buddy hope you're all keeping safe and well Gareth take care bud until the next vlog bud

Good Manual entry Vlog. I use it all the time.Like you say it backs your hours up and plus Vosa prefer it. Some firms want you doing Manual entry. Fairplay pal Great vlog
Great video mate on manual entries. Just getting back into the industry. Ive saved this one for future reference and sub'd your channel. Steve in Fife.
Top vid Deady! Very helpful, thank you. As I start the first agency job tomorrow morning, may just do a manual entry now! I’m hoping the truck isn’t too old!
@@Deady2012 thanks for that! That must be the reason why i didn;t know what I was doing yesterday, just seen this comment now! It was a brand new Scania - very nice indeed! I think I forgot to take the tacho off break after my 45! Loved the 1st day even though it was raining heavily :-)

Excellent simple video mate. If you're paid by the hour, these 20 minutes here and there soon add up over the week. Vosa like to see a manual entry, shows you know what you are doing 👍
its only been 3 years since i was filling paper tacho cards out ,, and ive still got a unused log book somewhere from the good old days ,, no power steering no radio no air con in fact no heater unless it was summer ,,, ahh the good old days
I got into the habit of writing down all my driving hours in a small diary, start time finish time, last 45 finished, drive time and rest. Do this every day, dont have to but if I go over my hours and then get stopped by mr Vosa I can demonstrate I try my hardest to keep on top of my hours. Simple but very effective. I even have my old diarys in the cab. I know people take print outs and keep them but to do that every day it soon adds up in tacho rolls.
It does mate! I never do print outs unless i've done an infringement, my latest was forgetting to put tacho on break, leaving card in and gone home haha! Had an 18 working day lol!

Hi Deady, thanks so much for this really clear explanation. One question ... if you are entering the 3.5T van as 'other work' and a start and end time, does that get you in breach of the WTD rules? ie do you have to register a 15 min break before the 6 hour point? Thanks James
