- A day of bashing my X-maxx. There are some blank screens, so be patient and wait for the end :-) Here are the specs:

Motor: Leopard 5892 1340kV
Motor Fan: Dynamite
Batteries: 2 x 4s at 8000 mAh and 45C (KD)
Gearing: 29/54 (pinion/spur)

You deserve an award for best RC video! I’ve not seen a better one even by the manufacturers! It’s a little show-ish and needs more high-speed footage / less slo-mo but I love it and wish I knew how to make one.

Thanks! The truck is tough as nails! Will the 2 days of filming (even footage that didn't make the final edit), not one thing broke. It took some crazy hits too!

Thanks so much! It baffles me when people post vids of customized RCs and then refuse to disclose the relevant specs. I list all relevant specs of my custom RCs because it allows others to replicate the build (and hopefully to improve on it and share with others), and make the hobby more fun for everyone!

The aerial shots were done with a drone. The ground shots were done with a camera on a gimbal (OSMO). Thanks for watching!
Did you do anything special to your diffs. To allow them to handle the extra power? Much appreciated
Sorry...missed this one; I try to respond to all questions. I used the diffs as stock in the video. I didn't strip anything but changed to the hardened gears since, just in case.

+Jase Anthony I love it. I'm running 29/54 gearing and the motor temp did not exceed 110 (outside temp was around 80); the motor wasn't even breaking a sweat. So far I've been very impressed with leopard.

no diff problems. thanks...
No diff gear problems at all so far. You just have to remember that when land from jumps, don't be on the throttle or brakes. The diff cups are another story. Too many standing flips and the dog bone pins will bend the rear diff cups😀😀😀. The 1340kv + max5 setup is ridiculous. With 30t pinion insane power and have not seen motor temps above 110.

Cool video, why does it say 'big block' in the title??? Block referring to the size of an engine block
Yup...referring to the size of the motor. This is the original X-maxx, which was 6s and had a much smaller motor. The Leopard motor inside is larger so people who did the 8s conversion started calling it a "big block."
What kind of speed are you getting with that setup? Thinking doing the same with my xmaxx
I haven't done any gps runs with it so I honestly don't know. With the current setup all I can say is that it's way too fast to pin it off road.
Ok cool, I'll just turn the throttle down to 75% or something where it's manageable. Thanks for the heads up
What conversation kit is it? Kershaw?
+AB Palacios Yup, it's Kershaw. Everything goes together relatively easily. You'll need to trim the cross brace to fit the motor, but that's about 10 mins with a dremel...super easy.

im building mine to handle that power it is a monster rc truck i am changing the motor and esc to a castle 2028 haha no burn downs i hope haha just stupid power right and fun runs

Nice truck but one question how do we know it's running on 8s???... Everything was in slow motion. You could be running on 2S,, we would never know the difference. Oops!!!
The standing back flip in dirt should address that. At any rate, I'm not trying to prove anything to anyone. I just wanted to make a good XMAXX video. It's up to you if you would like to believe the build details in the description or not. Thanks for watching!

It's possible for a monster truck to be too fast, and not durable enough to sustain that high speed + off roading$$$$$$$
Of course it is possible. One just has to experiment to see what works. So far this truck has been almost bulletproof.
