DM-7: Complete Drum Microphone Set for Recording and Live Sound
DM-7
You got the beat
The key to a great acoustic drum kit sound is to capture each element individually so that you have the most control over your mix. The PreSonus® DM-7 drum mic set gives you everything you need to authentically capture your drum kit and just about any other instrument you like. Starting with the foundation, the BD-1 kick drum mic provides a unique frequency response to capture both the boom and the attack of your kick drum for tight, robust sound. The four ST-4 microphones will bring out the best in toms and snare drums while staying out of the drummer's way, thanks to included, adjustable rim mounts. To capture the sizzle of your cymbals and the ambiance of the room, use the two OH-2 small-diaphragm condensers to add space and movement to your drums. It all adds up to a useful and versatile assortment of microphones, included mounts and a hardshell carrying case.
All about that bass
The dynamic BD-1 kick drum mic will help your kick drum punch through any mix. Featuring a dynamic cardioid capsule with a tailored frequency response, the BD-1 accentuates low-end thump without leaving the beater attack behind. Your kick drum will sound sharp and rich, with minimal EQ required. The BD-1 is also an excellent choice for bass cabinets. An integrated mount makes it easy to accurately position the BD-1 and get the sound you want.
Rounding it out
With a frequency response designed to enhance the attack and tone from toms and snare drums, you’ll love the ST-4 microphones. These versatile dynamic microphones will quickly become your secret weapon for miking a tom, a snare, a guitar amp, and more. You’ll be amazed at how well these mics perform. The adjustable rim-mounting system makes it easy to position the ST-4 mics on your toms and snare, so you won’t have to worry about a dozen cluttery mic stands surrounding the kit, the stage, or your live room.
Add some shimmer
The key to accurately capturing cymbals and room tone in your drum mix is a pair of matched, well-positioned overhead mics - and the OH-2 mics won't let you down. These small-diaphragm condenser mics have just the right amount of high-frequency shine to bring out the air in your acoustic space and make your cymbals sound their best. But don't stop at drums: These mics are also a great choice for capturing depth and realism in many other instruments that benefit from stereo tracking, including pianos, acoustic guitars, and more!
The perfect addition to any mic collection
While designed to bring out the best in your drum mixes, the DM-7 drum microphone set will quickly become your go-to mics for just about any instrument. From bass drums to maracas and everything in between, you'll find a mic in this toolkit to get the job done. And with all the mounts and windscreens included, your creativity can reign. Wherever sound takes you, the DM-7 drum mic pack will let you capture it at its best.

Great vid!!
Drum mic kit reviews are what got me on your channel. Good stuff.
Glad to see you’ve stuck around with us this far! Hopefully you’ve gotten your live drum sound setup mint now 👌
We’ve got a couple more cheaper drum mic pack reviews coming soon as well!
Great vid, thanks for the review!
Thanks Adem! I hope this video helps with your love for Presonus gear!
Sounded great! But your EQ-ing really made them shine. I wish I could leave an extra "thumbs up" for the Helvete shirt!
Hell yeah, thanks!
The two of us dropped into Helvete a couple years ago while spending like 30 hours in Oslo!
Great job with the video ey.
Thanks dawg ✌️
Letz go! ...and they did...
Premium demo, gents. Good to see Jarrett enter the fray with all sheets to the wind.
They sound great - but I suspect it's the skills we are hearing, as much as it is the microphones.
Okay, eh?
If it’s all in the skills you might not be hearing much of anything then! 😂
Nice demo guys. That is a sweet little pack. Do you think these dynamic mics compare to a shure sm57? Looking for a robust pack like the 57s that won't break the poor bank.
Thanks Nelson! Yeah I would say they are definitely of a similar quality. Both in build and in sound quality. What were you thinking budget wise? Also if you are interested we did a video where we used an SM57 to mic every drum (snare, toms, overhead kicks) you could compare the sound of that to this current video if you'd like

Thanks for the review. My band is considering buying this set for touring as we put together our in-ear rig. Any chance you can provide some of the eq and effect settings you tweaked to get the mixed sound? Thanks.
I don’t have the exact settings anymore as this was mixed in a session with a few different packs and the mix was changed slightly per pack.
We did a video where I run through our settings in a drum mix, it will be somewhere pretty close to those eq and compression settings but not exact.

How do you mix?
Entirely with plugins that come stock with logic!
We did a walk through of our drum mix actually if you want to check that out!
