    9:18 I did an analysis on this scene for my English assignment at school. In this scene Geun-Sae did spell his message correctly, the reason why Da-Song didn't decipher it correctly is that the Scouts that Da-Song is partaking in is American Scouts where he learnt morse code in English, whereas Geun-Sae is sending morse code that was written in Korean that he most likely learnt from the Korean war. We know this is true from the fact when the first morse code sheet was shown in the basement it showed morse code written in Korean and Da-Song is merely deciphering it in English letters. (As we can see in 9:24 where the instruction manual for morse code only deciphers the dots/dashes in English letters) It was meant to show the gap between the down-belows and the high-ups, there was simply no way for the high-ups to even understand the agony that the down-belows were suffering. They're practically not speaking the same language in a sense.

      Oh yeah, to add on, the reason why Ki-Woo didn't actually die is because the scholar stone isn't real. Stones don't float in water, so there should've been no way the stone could've floated in the house where Ki-Woo found it when he was inspecting the damage from the floodwater.
      This is further emphasized by the fact that the stone is merely a symbol of false hope and false desire for wealth, it's as fake as everyone of their family's dream to get rich.

      HOWEVER, the rock depicted is sedimentary or metamorphic, likely granite. You can see that because it has a layered structure with quartz inclusions. As such it can not be pumice and that particular stone wouldn't float.

    Thank for the recap. Now I don't have to read subtitles. So sad the sister died. Both poor families were too greedy. There were enough room to share. They could've let the husband stay, and get paid on the side. And the other poor couple was too greedy thinking they were better than the other poor family.

    I haven't seen the movie, but the main theme made me think. Is it possible to live in a mansion and the residents be completely unaware?
    And I can't help but think that maybe it is possible to pull it off. You would have to work around the family schedule. And go about when staff are around (staff would think you were a family member and family members would think you were a member of the staff) but it might actually be possible.

      It depends on the build and the family. What helped this case was that they had a whole bunker the family didn’t know about and the housekeeper working against them.

      I once stumbled upon a video here on youtube, where the apartment owner thinks that his sink smells like urine every morning. He then checked his security cameras and saw that a person hides (or lives) in a compartment (idk what to call it) connected to his ceiling, and that person goes down every night when the owner is asleep.

    • @estoylaroca
      @estoylaroca Před 2 lety +2

      Lol.
      Doesn't need to be a "mansion".
      Could just be a regular house.
      And it has already happened before.
      Man was living in the attic, stealing and eating food when the woman inside the house was asleep / outiside.
      Woman was suspicious because food kept going missing.

    I think I saw from a instagram short or a youtube reel but if you see certain moments of this movie you can see when they are talking to the rich family there are lines in between them for example: when the sister is gettin hired by the mom there is a line in the background to show the difference between the rich and poor family. When the dad is talking to the mom on the couch looking at their son camping outside they talk about how the dad hasn't crossed the line but he does get close to it.
