GBX Boots with Paint Splats that have Sentimentality get a HUGE upgrade

These GBX boots have just been destroyed yet have a huge sentimental attachment to the owner. So these boots that originally have molded rubber soles need a full resole and in order to do so they needed a conversion that will upgrade these boots so they can handle a resole. The catch is that anything I do cannot change the uppers with the paint and dirt thats on them. So this calls for a new leather footbed and to convert these boots to a Blake Rapped Stitch so these boots can have a Vibram 700 Sole added with a new leather stacked heel base (aka leather stacked heel bloke)

I had a pair of GBX a number of years ago. Not great boots materials or quality wise, but they broke in so well and were so comfortable I can understand the feeling of sentiment and nostalgia.

Could you talk about the pros and cons of the Blake Rapid construction as opposed to a Welted construction?

I really wanna hear what sentimental value these shoes have to justify a resole that costs more than several new pairs. They should have just asked for a full rebuild, and tried to replicate the paint splatters, cause this resole was obviously not worth it and almost painful to see on such a crappy pair of shoes.
