Mileena - All Fight & Abilities Scenes
Half-Tarkatan and half-Edenian, Mileena is said to be both vicious and unpredictable. Fiercely loyal to her creator, her teleportation skills and duel sai blades both aid her in her service to him. I love mileena. The only thing that bothered me was the fact they made her seem to have the lack of common sense. Like she fought cole and teleported behind him after he armored up his body. She teleports behind him. His head was not protected. Mileena could & should have killed him by plunging her sai into the back of his skull. She had that opportunity.instead she aims to slice into his armored shielded back. Like whutt? 🤡💀 dude that made me cringe. She's my favorite character. She's An Icon, A legend & she is the moment. So, come on Now.

This movie isn't perfect but the thing I hate the most about it is the fact that she doesn't do much in it and got killed too fast. I hope if they make a second movie they redesign her looks and give more to her character, she is one of my faves :(

Only thing I didn’t like was how long they waited to show her full mouth. I think the people who made the movie said, just because you see someone die, doesn’t mean they’ll stay dead, it is Mortal Kombat after all, so we’ll most likely see Mileena again.

I agree with you but I disagree about this movie. This was the first to treat her as a focused character, who doesn't live out of a sense of envy and a search for admiration from people who despise her. I feel that it lacked to bring more of her characterization to this new personality format. But even so, I liked these crumbling momments because they were the only moments in the saga that I saw her being a character behaving and being treated equally with her opponents.
MK is still MK without her she's a iconic character but never had a huge impact now say if it was scorpion that they messed up than it would't be MK because scorpion is the mascot

I don't like that her mouth is not "monsterish" enough. Mileena has a beast mouth and that's the essence of her character. She looks like an almost normal girl.
The director even talked about now anting to give her mask just because he felt like too many characters had their face covered (less than one third actually).

They can introduce revenants with these characters. You don't have to wipe out the story of flesh pits, that's one of the essential reasons Kitana changed sides and it's quite a big story tbh.

To all y'all complaining about Mileena, keep in mind that Shang Tsung has frequently experimented with the dead, and her game origins. Thus two scenarios arise:
1. When he resurrects Mileena, she'll come back a lot less stable than before, thus leading to the more sadistic, playful Mileena we knew from the pre-New Era games.
2. The Mileena we know and love will be a clone with a mixture of this Mileeena, Nitara, and Kitana's DNA - making her a literal humanoid (or Edenian) abomination.
They could do done so much more with her in this tbh as she is a big hit with the fans
I feel like there should have been a callback to Mileena sparing Sonya, only to have Sonya kill Mileena. Like referencing how “Your death also has no worth, but I killed you anyway!” or “Maybe you should have killed me when you had the chance!”

Still angry at how little material they gave her in this movie. The first half of this film was *so* good and the second half felt like they had two days to shoot it.
I'm sure there will be a 2nd film but they really need to approach it more delicately; especially after "killing off" half the cast. Sisi needs to return.

I can understand some errors here and there in this film along with seeing some characters dying so soon such as mileena who I didn’t expect to be in the first film nor die too soon. But I have expectations Shang tsung is bringing her back, Goro as we all know is one of the iconic characters of mortal Kombat but I wasn’t expecting him to die so soon either and rather see liu Kang take him on but hopefully we’ll Kintaro in the next upcoming film, Reptile i was kinda disappointed he didn’t speak or have his battle suit on and looked like something more of a villain design from Spider-Man but hey at least we saw him in action however before brutally getting his heart ripped out by Kano himself. Kabal I did not expect him to be here on there so soon and start off as Stryker’s partner who I hope to also see in the sequel, gets toasted by kintaro or some other way of being lit on fire before getting all the gear on and becoming who he is now. Cole young, I myself like him and fuck you on whatever negative shit you have to say about me liking cole young cause I don’t give a flying fuck whatever you have to say, he’s still in development despite how he was in this film but I’m sure he’ll do better in the sequel when they fight in the tournament.
I love sisi I wish she had more scenes and lines and actions scenes I would love for sisi to get more fight training so she had more actions scenes maybe if she comes back if they make another one go and get lots of fight training you know prepare herself before she gets the role if she comes back
I have a theory (some parts has been debated for a long time by the fans tho) : This Mileena was created with Jade's blood, it can explain why she wasn't like in the games. she didn't grew up with Kitana as a daughter of Shao Khan, so she never was jealous of her sister or craving for her dad's approval. Maybe this Mileena was a "test". The actress is more of a Jade to me, not necessarily because of her ethnicity but because she has a very calm, trusting, and loyal energy idk, we'll maybe see her again in the 2nd movie as Jade, also being introduced to Kitana and in ther 3rd we're maybe gonna see the "real" Mileena.

She does not look like mileena (if u remove the sai), shes pure evil (mileena in the games, while being power hungry and cruel, isn't shown as completly heartless) and shes not playful here. This is not a different inerpretation of the character. This is a completly different character. Even her teleport looks more like nightcrawlers teleport.

I forgot how bad the fight choreography was. That fight between Mileena and Sonya was pathetic. I hope someone else is handling the choreo for the sequel. Otherwise I shudder to think how clunky and awkward they'll make Kitana's fighting style look.

@Joxeli Except it isn't. Although I have nothing against black people, there is something called blackwashing when a character that isn't black is portrayed by a black character out of the blue. Take Achilles for example. Dude was heavily blackwashed. It just doesn't sit well with some people (like myself). It's not racism, just disappointment.

In my honest opinion, she was great in the role. Considering what little (and kind of bad) material they have her. She had the attitude of Mileena. And, this was most likely a clone and not the original Mileena. Which is why I’m expecting Sisi in the second film.
She had the energy of the character but had almost nothing to work with. The fight choreo they gave her was weak. In fact, mostly everything outside of Hanzo, Bi-Han, Sonya and Kano was pretty weak.
I hope Sisi returns with a better script.

The choreography they given Sisi is bare minimum with so many cuts. Her first fight against Sonya would have been much better if she just teleported around instead of exchanging blows with Sonya while the camera cuts with every single move. MOre teleportation could have reduced the number of awkward choreography while making the fight more flashed out.
Then there's Liu Kang and Kung Lao.
Despite having two very competent martial artists, they were given very little to work with and Kung Lao didn't even get a proper fight scene.
Liu Kang's fights were just him dodging most of the time.

Bi-Han vs Jax
Kano/Sonya vs Reptile
Every fight after that was so rushed. I feel like Sisi was totally in character and they gave her ... nothing to work with. Same for Kung Lao, to a certain extent. I hope movie #2 does it right.
@@ryanm7654 Hell, I wouldn't even count in Reptile fight. The fight had horrible choreography and that weird stiff editing when Sonya did that unnecessary spin jump dive with the knife.
Also we don't even see Kano's ripping out heart motion and the scene just jumps straight to him holding heart likely because they couldn't animated it properly or something.
The fights where the choreography is actualy decent is the first BiHan vs Hanzo, BiHan vs Jax, and the final fight, which still got awkard editing with Cole being involved (but the entire choreography is miles better than the rest).
The other fights might as well not even eixst.
Jax vs Reiko was so bad both time that it was far below the average action movies out there.
