    To tape your panel frames, I recommend the gorilla HD tape it will hold up to chemicals, equipment, and printing. It also cost $$6-$7 a roll. We often get suckered into buying screen tapes from our distributors we trust, as a former salesmen I can tell you some are fine depending upon what frame your stretching. But the gorilla tape will work great with these frames.

    Better tape for sure or those badboys are gunna pop like crazy! And just a thought here it’s not the mesh that holds the higher tension it’s the stronger frames. Statics can go to higher tensions than what people sell them at but I’m thinking stretchers are scared to ship them. Never seen a static above 21n. Game changer for sure and they’re CHEAPER per panel! Love it.

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  Před 4 lety +1

      Really depends on the wall thickness of the tubing. A lot of the cheaper stuff is very thin wall and would probably bow under that kind of tension, but I have a few frames from F&H that are beefy as hell and would definitely hold. But these things are definitely a far better option for us all around and the cost savings will add up quickly I'm sure.

    • @CoryFloodwayPrintCo
      @CoryFloodwayPrintCo Před 4 lety +1

      Lee Stuart Yeah man the math works out to them being cheaper in like two panels. I went over that in my video about them, I’m super stoked on these! If you didn’t see it: czcams.com/video/xMqsw-TCRaE/video.html

    • @Tim.McElheny
      @Tim.McElheny Před 4 lety +1

      @@leestuart38 Can confirm bowing at higher tensions. I stretched Saati 158 Hi-Tex in a Newman Roller to 40N/cm and glued it to a static aluminum. Right after cutting it out of the Newman, the tension dropped to 34N/cm and has bowing on all four sides of the static. I just tagged you in the post I made in the Rogue Printers group about it a couple days ago.
      Now to see if the pros of higher tension outweigh the cons of bowed aluminum frames.

    • @CoryFloodwayPrintCo
      @CoryFloodwayPrintCo Před 4 lety

      Tim McElheny You may see some problems from the bowing, especially if the mesh isn’t straight within your image area. Like Lee said there are some beefier static frames though. The mesh can always hold higher tension, it’s not specific to thin thread if anything they hold lower tensions and perform better at lower tensions than thicker threads. But they need a solid frame for those higher tensions and that, plus shipping problems is a huge reason you won’t see glued statics going to far above 21n.

    • @Tim.McElheny
      @Tim.McElheny Před 4 lety +1

      @@CoryFloodwayPrintCo Stretching and glueing the frames was a lot of work anyway. The mesh looked pretttttty straight in the image area, but I am 100% eyeballing it. It was fun dialing in the process, but I'm going to order my next batch of screens pre-stretched.
      This was more of an experiment to see if screens with tension in the newton range specified by the manufacturer printed better than the pre-stretched, lower newton, screens. I used the Saati mesh because I was reading that they have great mesh. Before I stretched my own, I was using GoldUP pre-stretched screens. The screens I stretched with the Saati mesh print better than the GoldUp screens. The ink clears easier and it seems to lay down a more even layer across the entire image.
      I have a DIY set-up so for me, in my situation, the screens I've stretched are working better for me at the moment. I'm going to order some pre-stretched screens next time though. I'm going to do some research and see who's claiming they got the best.

    The EZ-frames have a plastic protector for the mesh. You may not need the top/bottom protectors for your set up (and water does get behind them, but are easy to pull off + water may in the frame if I remember righty) I don't know the weight of the frames you were testing, but... This is not right and not how these were designed to be used, as much as people like to believe it. For a single color design you might be able to get away with it, but that design is still not going to go back on that frame 100% straight and true, anything multicolor is completely out of the question. Mesh also isn't made to be continuously stretched over and over, so it will lose tension and break a lot faster and you're just spending more money than buying more frames in the first place.

    got a bunch of these for my shop, and they pop ALL the time.... tape no tape doesnt matter, they have sharp edges on every corner .... id suggest just buying static frames w thin thread like shirt kong does, less tension yes, but opacity is still there and you can smooth out the print with a AI roller .

      I haven't had any pop since that first one, but it's something I plan on keeping an eye on for a bit

      How about respecting people just being themselves, instead of trying to bend them into something that makes you more comfortable? Beat it....fucker

    The big money question is.... Can you take the mess off with the design, store it, use it later? Only 4 frames, 100 meshes with a lot of designs ready to go. What do you think about that? Hmm?

    • @leestuart38
      @leestuart38  Před 4 lety

      I really don't think so. They probably wouldn't stretch back onto the frame without slightly warping the image somehow

      @leestuart38  Před rokem

      For 6 frames, the tool and the panels. 2 of those things last forever, then you're only paying $12 to replace mesh when needed, and nowhere near the shipping cost of a complete frame. It's a huge money saver in the long run if you invest
