As a Welshman I have a feeling this was a warm up for the thrashing that will come to us in a few hours time at the hands of the Springboks. 17-52 would be a decent result for us I reckon.
It's a gutting to see Japan getting thrashed. Only 5 years ago they were hosting the world cup and beating Ireland and Scotland to top their pool and now they're getting drubbed by almost 40 points again.

As a English man I have to agree with you regarding playing the Springbok, the Welsh team that’s been selected are going to be overrun….I hope I’m wrong as we all need Wales to be competitive for the good of Rugby as a whole.

Eddie Jones and Warren Gatland need to do what Jake White did, give up international rugby and go back to coaching provinces, the game has tactically evolved massively since the 2010's. Out of TOUCH!

It's extremely disappointing seeing a once proud and emerging nation in the sport start to fall back into obscurity where they once were for the past 30-40 years. To think they made the WC quarter final back in '19, possibly their greatest achievement, after they edged out Ireland and Scotland for top spot, would surely spur them onto bigger and better things, but somewhere along the way, all of that effort and promise just vanished. Now Japan risk becoming one of the whipping boys, over and over again. This is an emergency they HAVE to address if they want to start over again, and with all of their resources, not to mention how much money their players make in their domestic league, you would expect so much better.

Eddie Jones said pre-match that he had a good feeling about Japan's chances against England and would take the game to the final minute. What a joker. That didn't work well did it! Japan Rugby will regret the day they rehired Jones after leaving Australia and England worse off beforehand. This defeat against England where England scored more than 50 points without needing to get out of 2nd gear, is a sign of things to come for Japan Rugby in the coming months and years with Eddie Jones in charge. Him getting the Head Coach role for Japan again is an example of cronyism in action. Notice that England have improved since getting rid of the poisonous Eddie Jones and have started to progress again as the Six Nations showed and it is no coincidence that it is with Jones no longer being around!

Much of that success came off the groundwork of Stuart Lancaster who was the brains of Leinster’s success at their peak not Leo Cullen.
Eddie Jones is yet to be forgiven by Irish, Scottish and Welsh fans for those awful comments at the drinks party. The man is so obsessed by his own ego he does not realise or care how daft he comes off most of the time with the exception of the comment of those from private schools dominating player selection. Japan deserve a better coaching panel and governing body leadership than an egoistical self obsessed head coach and a rugby union head given a golden handshake.

Japan have a problem, however. They have a lack of bulk, physicality and players playing rugby. They just have money. They are, in fact, an international selection of mercenaries as opposed to a real national team. Mercenary mentality explains their hiring of Jones again. Jones also being half-Japanese also explains it - as inter-Japan is pure cronyism - also in business.

Honestly, It's easy for people to underestimate Steve Borthwick .
Now if you look at Eddie Jones, and you look at all the times he underestimated his opponents, I think we can get a good description of the king of underestimation . Can he just stop to underestimate his enemies and just do something good. He betrayed Australia, you remember 2022 when a fan shouted you a traitor, well , now they can call him a traitor. Japan are in dire trouble.
Marcus Smith, what a player. England scored 8 tries and Japan scored 2 tries , with the same run metres, o my word.
