- With the news that microsoft is testing out putting Xbox Game Studios titles on Playstation and Nintendo, and since we know that nothing’s off the table, I figured it would be fun to speculate what happens next.
Master Chief Collection On Switch?
Forza on the PS2?
Some of these are more likely than others, and today I want to go through, and discuss which games I can see getting a multi console release, and which game might take a while to get fully out of the Xbox and PC ecosystems.

I think it will be given that any franchise that was originally or is still is mulitplat will appear on other platformers. E.g. Crash Bandicoot, Age of Empires, Doom, just to name a few.
1:15 In that case the next [PROTOTYPE] game when they revive that series, either it be a Remake/Reboot/Sequel should come to PlayStation because the first two games were Multiplatform and already built a fanbase on the competition's platform.

It can probably run halo 1, 2, 3, and reach but ill be surprised if it can run 4, maybe like at 24 fps lol
@@steelydude I’m sure it will easily be able to run a 360 game, hell the current switch probably could. The WiiU was graphically as powerful if not more than a 360 and the switch more so than that (when docked).

Just so happens that today's Nintendo Direct partner showcase revealed 4 Rare(ware) games the are coming to NSO so hopefully could be a signal for more to come but not counting on it from Nintntendo, which on the same day also announced Mother 3 on NSO but ONLY in the Japanese showcase

_Rare Replay_ is reliant on the backwards compatibility of 360 games on modern Xbox systems. Porting the game to other systems would require developing some other means of emulating the Xbox 360.
(new) Killer Instinct 2 is likely not something they are making, but I could see them releasing the (new) Killer Instinct on the other platforms, because that game still has some legs, despite its age.

It would be interesting if Microsoft and Sony could make some kind of exclusive trade where they each agree to put up one their own exclusives on the other platform. They could start small and guage how well it does, and if its worth it to pursue more.
4:21 Sega released Virtua Fighter 5, a 15 year old game in 2021 for PS4 only not even PC. So I don't see bad releasing 2013 Killer Instinct on Playsation.

The one game series that I'm hoping gets to Playstation is Ori. Both Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps are the games that I'm praying that they will be added to the PlayStation. I've been persistent with this wish for 2 years now and I don't I have any hope to grab on to. I've made dozens and dozens of videos and tweets about this. Hopefully there's a round two. I really want to play this game.

If we are here guessing which games would be ported to new ND/PS for fun, I would say any game older than 3 years is very unlikely, unless it is an on-going live-service or has remaster/remake in the works.
Porting even an 3-year-old game to a new platform takes investment and carries a large risk of not even being able to break even from sales. So the porting of any released Gears/Halo is very unlikely. Remember, financial growth is what MS wants and broadening access to certain games is a way to achieve that while for other games it is not.
honestly Xbox and Playstation should just make special Launcher for PC that locks settings for games. instead of owning a console you can then still advertise your product and then also have backwards compatibility for older games without the need to digitize it, for example Playstation releases the Playstation PC Player, you can play your older disc based games, you can still access a store and download, and Sony saves on needing to make hardware. In today's world if you make a PC version you are more likely to reach more people. the Issue is that PCs builds are different and making games for all builds doesn't work all the time, however if you had a internal system to run the games off of with consistent stats then you make gaming more accessible. This way you can make exclusives for your own program, and it would live besides other programs like Steam. Granted you would most likely see none of these exclusives ever going to steam afterwards, but it wouldn't matter as long as your games would work consistently and you could use the savings from the hardware division to focus on new IPs or new genres that a console would normally not touch. Like Strategy games using current IPs would finally have a place. I for one would love to see Gears in a strategy form or a better Halo wars, on the playstation side i could imagine a Final Fantasy Strategy game a bit more advanced than what was in type 0. Or maybe turning stories or folklore into short games as a cultural thing. Soon gone will be the days of buying separate hardware for games, PC is a unifying force to allow all games to be played by a larger group which means better games as the Publishers fight for you dollars on a much even playing field. IF the publishers still want into a Hardware market it also be easier to partner with PC build companies and build the SONY or XBOX ready PC. now i am ranting to much about this.

Assuming that Elder Scrolls VI comes out this console generation (it's insane that it's possible that that won't happen) I don't think that there is a single chance for this game to release on PlayStation. Maybe there will be its own "Legendary Edition Remastered" port to the next generation, but for the PS5/PS6, whichever generation it's released in, it's not gonna happen.
I also don't think there is much of chance for Starfield, I'll give a soft maybe because of it's lukewarm reception, but I don't think it's realistic to think that will happen.
Also I don't think there is any chance whatsoever that Halo ever comes to other platforms unless Microsoft fully gives up on exclusives. But there future plans are obviously moving towards phasing out exclusives, so who knows, in a 10-15 years from now, but no earlier, I could be wrong.
Trust me you’re wrong on this one. It’ll happen much faster than you think. The exclusivity model has already reached its peak and is dying out soon. Sony will probably be the last holdout in regards to exclusives because, you know, it’s sony😅. Elder scrolls will 100% be on PlayStation as well as the next doom game. Wouldn’t be surprised if the new halo game is slated for a PlayStation release as well. Microsoft isn’t trying to hide the fact that this is where they see their future. The writing is clearly on the wall.
I can definitely see a Halo MC Collection port to Switch or Switch 2 doing crazy numbers. Like Playstation has plenty of shooters. It's gonna make a splash, but nothing crazy. Halo on Switch would be a massive wave! In general, playing nice with Nintendo would also likely be met with less salty fan boys than with Playstation

Rare Replay won’t happen because it has a bunch of 360 games and they just play through BC. They aren’t even on the disc I think. Which means they’d have to make a 360 emulator or make them work natively on Switch. And since most of those 360 games aren’t even related to franchises once on Nintendo hardware (and mostly mediocre) it’s not worth it. With each ROM release on NSO, there’s less and less reason to make it. Sure that requires a subscription, but they’re still easily accessible. People mostly just care about the N64 games and the DKC games on SNES. People/Nintendo fans won’t care about most of the games on Rare Replay. No one’s dying to play Sabrewulf, Snake Rattle ‘n’ Roll, Mr. Pants or Kameo.

Age of Empires had a PS2 port in PAL territories published by Konami of all companies right before the Xbox hit.

I think a lot of companies really don't care about pushing their backlogs, I've been waiting since the start of gamepass for Rare Replay to get ported to PC.
It's an evil hope to hold, but that upcoming Jet Set Radio game might hold a reason to liberate Jet Set Radio Future from the Xbox

I feel like the next gen Xbox isn't going to be just an Xbox, like they're really going to lean into that Xbox anywhere mindset and release like 2 or 3 different platforms in addition to putting stuff on PlayStation and Nintendo. The next Xbox will probably be like PC+ a handheld and a series s successor and some weird streaming stuff and games coming to the PS,5/switch 2 all with shared accounts, saves, achievements ect. Just stop competing by supporting multiple platforms and services that Nintendo and Sony can't really replicate
imo, I wouldn't discount the chances of Forza Horizon making its way to PlayStation (unless Polyphony makes their own competitor which is nil atm) as the only equivalent game son PS5 is.... The Crew Motorfest and Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown (if you wait a bit more longer).

I think Xbox realizes that their games that are proven to be successful or can reach a wider audience, games like Sea of Thieves or Grounded, are being hampered by exclusivity, they want more players engaging in these online spaces, or games like Pentiment, which are already niche.
I imagine the strategy is going to be releasing games that maybe underperformed to make back money or fund a future project. Wouldn't be surprised if Wasteland 2 or 3 got a current gen version to ride the BG3/CRPG wave, or possibly the Pillars of Eternity games.
I think Outer Worlds 2 will come out on PlayStation whenever that happens, since the first also came to PlayStation.
Also I think Quake Champions will come to PlayStation, my source is that it came to me in a dream.

I could see any xbox game coming to ps5. If it's at least a year old.they never said the games were coming to playstation.
Also they never officially said exactly which games are coming to other systems. So the rumors could be wrong.
If they are making a deal with Sony. Sony might only want certain games. I could massively back fire if playsation fans like halo and then buy an xbox for the next halo.
I actually think halo infinite is the most likely game to come to ps5 because they want people to buy there next halo on xbox.

I can see forza coming to PlayStation before anything else, and I think Halo will be the last ones to go multiplatform because I think they'll keep it a console exclusive until they stop making xbox consoles as Master Chief is "The Xbox Man", so I think the fans would take that as an abandonment of the xbox platform.

Oh it’s definitely not stopping here. If HiFi Rush sells just 1 million copies on PS5, that’s already 1/3 of the current user base on Xbox and PC. They definitely won’t leave that money on the table.

Look at Gear of War 4 and Gears 5, they were awful, no one cared about the main character, Gears 5 became a microtransaction game, they rolled back the horror element of the series and they literally dropped the war from the name for no reasons,rename it to Gears of War for fuck sake.
I dont think the remake or remaster of the gear trilogy should be ported, it just give xbox even less of a reason to exist as an ecosystem.
I've switched to PC 3 years ago and so I dont actually care in the grand scheme of things, but this just proves why everyone switch off of the xbox platform

Gamepass on PlayStation rather than releasing games for PlayStation would probably make more sense. If Halo was Gamepass exclusive on PS that would make sense.
But ultimately, do Xboxes even make money compared to software sales? Xbox might just be able to drop console manufacturing and become a major publisher more akin to Ubisoft or EA, but already massively more popular. Just let Sony dominate the dying console market. And heck, maybe Xbox could even work with parts manufacturers to get Xbox branded graphics cards or processors, build your own Xbox gaming PC.

Sony's is hardware.
Sony need hardware sales more than Microsoft who sell Xboxes at a loss.
That's why Microsoft is doing this, also why Sony port theirs to PC. That way they can "out-console" Microsoft while still making more profits from other platforms.
