😂 what about whining??
That’s a kid problem for sure
Thankyou so much for explaining in detail
finally one of these "car noise" videos that has examples!
You bet!
Thanks for actually playing examples of the noises. Drives me nuts when channels upload videos about noises and never play the noises as if we're supposed to know exactly what they mean just by their basic descriptions
Ditto!
Finally someone who actually gives samples...thanks to this vidéo I can conclude that my car is completely messed up xD
😂
😂 Glad I helped….. 🥴
I'm uncomfortable with how many of these I can tick off my bingo card before my car is back on the road.
man this is legit one of the best videos ive ever watched explaining the engine
The only useful engine noise video on CZcams i have watched. Thank you man
Glad it helped
You're the best. No one has clearly explained this issue except you.
Thank you for including the actual noises in the video. Now I know what to be on the lookout for 😅
Well done video. I think one of the hardest to do things is to describe a sound to a mechanic. Especially for intermittent issues it definitely helps to provide better adjectives the mechanic can understand. Or for sound of mind to the driver an off sound might be normal
One of the most useful car maintenance clips . Very well narrated. Subscribed.
Thanks 🤙🏽
Totally agree, thank u!!
Subscribed just for the comment 🎉
Thanks for the comprehensive video. Listening to many different noises really helped me to diagnose the noise of my car. I've been searching CZcams videos for a few hours to no avail but I think I found the answer thanks to your video.
Best Explanation video on CZcams about noises from Vehicle, Huge respect to you Sir, Love from India
The best video I have ever watched about car noises and beyond. Good job Sir!👍🏻
Glad I found this channel, you deserve a heck of a following for the quality of your videos. I just viewed your 4 year old video on diagnosing suspension noise. Extremely informative. I am replacing struts on '13 Taurus, Deciding if its worth taking a chance on quick struts. Again thanks for your help
Your examples and your details have helped me determine that I likely have a bearing going out. Thank you!
Very good video. A million thank you
Great and informative video. I dont even have the problems in your videos, but i find that i learn a lot from you and your pacing and explanation is very thorough and clear.
Excellent! I have a steady knock on my 2005 Toyota Highlander a week after an oil change and adding Seafoam to the gas. I am not driving it since this started.
Very informative video. Much appreciated. Rn I’m not sure if it’s my belt or bearing. I noticed a squeal noise only when accelerating, but with the AC on it’s practically gone. Thanks again. 👍🏽
Also one of useful detailed video, thanks
Awesome stuff
Very helping your summary, thank you for your time
.
Glad it was helpful!
GREAT INFORMATION, EVEN FOR ME, SOMEONE WHO KNOWS NEXT TO NOTHING ABOUT CARS
Thank u very for an excellent video explanation
BEST video I've found on this, thank you!
This video is so informative compared to many many others! Thanks for posting!
Thank you I’m glad it helped!
really helpful
Nice summary of typical engine noises - really enjoy your concise, plain English explanations. Great channel!
This is very very helpful. Thank you very much. Cheers from Holland.
Bearing wise, if you end up taking a belt off, always see if you can test a pulley by seeing if it wobbles if you pull it back and forth. That’s another good way to confirm what bearing is going out.
the best direct info so far
Epic video. Keep it up. You have helped many of us! Thanks.
You sir won a subscriber today. You are an excellent teacher and your videos are excellent resources!
Thank you from India.
Awesome, thank you! 🙏🏼
Awesome video. Thank you! I got me some bad bearings somewhere
Thanks man. This is really good information for a budding mechanic. Got a new subscriber here.
Thanks for the sub!
Most helpful video I ever seen on cars
Whoa! High praise!
Now this video is the BEST! This made my diagnoses ez. Thank you
Glad it helped!
This video is great and super helpful. Saved to reference later. Great job!
Glad it helped!
Excellent and to the point👍
Similar to 2nd whining noise, I get a metal noise at 3,000 rpm while driving/under load. It goes away when it shifts gear. Someone said it is a race in the transmission ('05 CRV) but not serious...it sure sounds concerning. Any idea what it could be? Thank you for your time!
I echo the sentiments of others, it l this was a great video. Thank you for including the issue, SOUNDS and possible fixes(diy or pro). My current sound was not listed but I subscribed to your channel so i can stay informed.
Awesome, thank you! 🙏🏼
Great and such informative video. Great work 💪
Thank you 🤙🏽
Great video. 👍
Very helpfull video👍...i identifyed my noise on my golf mk3 2 liter gti 8v, in the noise type One , the lifter! The noise come out at warm engine, now i try to switch the oil from 10-40 to 10-60 for test, i Hope that work!🙏

Thanks bro very helpful video 👍👍
No problem 🤙🏽
Thanks man, helped me alot !!
Glad it helped!
Great idea for video, I would love to have more example sounds in such formula.
Noted!
Thanks ❤ this was very helpful.
I'm so glad!
Superb Video George U.K.
thank you, my engine died yesterday and is making #2 noise .. I had suspicions but this video confirmed my rods are broken.
Oooouch!
How do you go about fixing this? If your talking about the sound at 3:03
Excellent timestamps. My current guess is on my having a bad bearing. I'm not at the stage where I can attempt a fix myself, but the more I know the safer it will be to get the car to someone who can fix it.
True true!
Thank you
also how to adjust the serpentine belt? on honda hrv if u have replace it new?
Excellent video 👍
Thank you very much!
What about a sound like hummming and or electric power sound on a Jaguar xk that does have a old cracked belt and front suspension?
This is an anwesome video !! I knew most of them since they happened to me 😅.
Expert!
how long the sounds starts how old the car will be? is it good use to habit to clean under hood?
Thank you for this video. My 5.7 hemi sounds exactly like your example at 3:00 . Definitely a rod bearing?
Thanks so much
Great video loved it.
My 24 year old corolla automatic makes a beautiful Wrrrr, wrrr, wrrrr, when running through the gears, sounds great, the only problem is that it wasn't doing that before 6 months ago !!
Does it match any of the sounds in this video?
@@BudgetMechanicHawaii thanks for the reply. Nothing like any of those sounds. Figure it must be transmission. It's fine with overdrive off, one a 1:1 torque ratio, but with the overdrive on, where it should be a 1:1.4(i think) ratio it drops to something like 1:0.8, so the engine is doing extra work with less result resulting in a racing wrrrr, wrrr, wrrr sound, untill it gets up to 4th then it cruises.
Very good information
Thanks 🤙🏽
Very helpful video
Glad to hear that
What if the ticking is relatively quiet? And can only be heard when the engine is idling?
Thanks!
No problem!
Nice video
Thanks
Super gr8.
Loud Cricket sound, after replace of new power st pump, and new belt on econoline, how 2 adjust
I think I have a bad bearing. Thank you this video is a great service to society.
I love society!
I be hearing a lifter ticking near the bottom of my car! Not sure what that could be!
This was wonderful. Your very easy to understand, to the point and bturg but efficient. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
hi love the vid. can you help. i have a deep rumble sound a can only hear in the car. its not loud an you need a good ear to hear it. its at idle an when driving. its doent get louder or faster with engine speed. many thanks
Thank you for the video! Mine seems close to the ticking sound. I am still observing it and planing on posting it. Would you be willing to take a look? It seems to be close to the ticking sound. What I've noticed is that when the engine is cold (starting after a night in a garage) the noise is not there. After driving a while it is there on idle. I need to observe more if it comes on after certain speed or after certain gear.
Mate I just subbed nice videos!
Thanks for the sub 🤙🏽
Once he got to my part i was praying to God for easy and cheap fix 😢
Hello I’m gamage, the hissing sound come when ac on my car what with the matter you think.
What about a loose engine mount? My car has a deep rattle on uneven road
Thanks. But i didnt see anything about a whining noise. My cadillac is now whining when accelerating. Thot it was tires and checked but no. Any ideas?
Only when pressing the pedal? Or does it make the sound when coasting down a hill too?
@@BudgetMechanicHawaiimine is doing the same, but when accelerating and only happens every now and then. 2007 toyota tacoma
So its an exhaust issue for my car. Thanks!
Does ur steering deal with your suspension?
can u make video on how to change belt tensioner and serpentine belt on hodna hrv ?2020
Can you go make me a sandwich
heheheeh damn@@derek4844
The example 1 can I fix that by just adding oil?
Man… one day I had a knock come into my engine and it wasn’t good and I knew it wasn’t as soon as I heard the noises … I was like oh my god no,… so I stopped what I was doing and I went straight home …. I got ahold of my mechanic IMMEDIATELY ! if you ever have that knocking either example 1 or 2 … your engine is fucked and WILL require high maintenance to be conducted for repairs … :(. I was so upset and just knew it was going to need some fixing up done to her :(. I have a 1998 Chevy blazer LT with a 4.3L•V6 Vortec •. It costed almost 300 something for labor but luckily it wasn’t much more than that :) I was fine and she came out good after , but I had Example #2 For the knocking of the engine sounds sample … man it sucked and she was out of my hands for nearly a month : but engine work and maintenance is complex and requires a lot of equipment needs , Time , Patience and even parts ordering ! Which can also take time before anything can be done to begin with … I know this because I once worked on vehicles with a crew back In Colorado ! It can take weeks to months for even some parts ! Especially on older vehicles to arrive … So when people say : “ it’s hard to find parts for older vehicles .” Not really :/ you can find them easily but the cost is going to be higher because for one , if you look at how older vehicle parts are manufactured , they are manufactured out of harder , heavier metals , Irons , Steels , etc etc …. So thus it being more expensive … think about how much it costs to make with the metals and the amount of them they have to use and mold and form and stamp and etc etc etc ….it’s alot of money because the metals ore of higher grades ! I looked up a brand new engine for my blazer which one day I will replace , the transmission as well , everything on it will be gutted and restored ! Even the interior carpets ! All the whole truck is almost 26 years old … I’m a year older than my truck …And all I can spread as far as advice goes to anyone , is DO NOT buy an older vehicle
( preferably no more than 25 years form the current year we are in). So no less than a 1999 I say this because after that 10 Year mark, prices begins to rise on parts and maintenance , so on and so forth , anyway ! Thanks for reading and I hope this can at least help anyone looking to purchase , own , or finance on a vehicle :) thank you and my name is Bryan btw !
Sorry I’m two years older ! I’ll be 28 around fall time ! Sep 22nd
Could number 1 be accompanied by lack of power also?
My car Honda i-Dsi engine only makes noise of knocking when it's in gear and under acceleration but perfect and smooth at idle condition. What could be the reason?
I have a turbo sound when i accelerate. But the thind is my car doesn t have turbo?!! What is it help
My car is making a knocking /raddling as we speak and I did wait a good minute before I got my oil change but my dad did keep oil in there until I got my oil change but I still don’t know what it is
i think i have to change my crankshaft bearings ... ...all of them to be exact .....but the knocking sound comes from the first piston it seems .....but will change all ..Main and Big ends ..
Appreciate your videos 💯🫡
I'm having some issues with my car 2004 Mazda 6s and it's like ticking with a weird sound, when I park it stops and when I drive out it starts again I play around with the ac and heating it kinda stops. I'm still having that problem not sure what it is.
Hard to say but you’re on the right track trying to isolate it.
Thank you for this wonderful informative video.
Is it possible, I could send you the recorded noise from my Audi TT 2914 (65 k miles, 1.8 TFSI).
It intermittently makes noise like "ugh ugh ugh" (I maybe not describing it correctly) then goes away!
Any help?

I have a 2002 Ford Focus. It just started with a knocking noise somewhere engine or under. Not consistently, but can happen when sitting still. Can I forward a video?
hello sir is this diesel engine? thanks
Im getting a ticking sound only if i drive and the engine is warm, what could couse this?
This is the only video i found with the same excact noise my car is making finally. In the example 2 of knocking, how should i go about getting it fixed?
At 3:03
If that really is your sound, you may have some serious engine damage. I hope thats not the case. I would take it to a trustworthy mechanic to double check tho. If it’s as serious as a rod knock or crank bearing etc, it’s often not worth the cost of repair. Cheaper to buy a replacement low mileage engine.
Can you show a water pump knocking noise?
ideas: remove serpentine belt and start engine: noise gone? also perhaps disconnect sparkplug leads one at a time (grounded) and starting: see if that cylinder is isolated?
Love it
My only make it on start up and when pressing the pedal any ideas
Hey are you on Maui by chance? Have an e91 wagon that had a crank/nostart but now is nocrank/nostart.
Nope! Check out our video on no start/battery check

Then rescanned tow more code came out

P050A

What else do I have to do to fix the issues please
Thank you@@BudgetMechanicHawaii
My 2020 Chevy Malibu kinda has a lifter tick but it’s not too loud and it’s usually at idle or start up it scares me not trying to blow another motor 😭
Is it possible for the pinging noise to happen once I release the gas pedal? I have a similar noise but not sure if it's pinging because I only get it when I let off the gas. I also thought it might be the timing chain as it sounds like the chain momentarily has some slack and is clacking around briefly. Also not sure if a timing chain issue would be constant or could it occur like how I meanitoned?
Both these things are possible! Might need to do some more research on your specific model and see if others are having a similar problem. Good scan tool can tell you if your timing is off too
My 2013 Explorer has like an overdrive noise, or a high gear noise, when driving over 45-50 mph. What do you think it could be causing that? Thanks
Try shifting quickly into neutral and see if sound changes. Would tell you if transmission related
