- A Senate investigations subcommittee examines the allegations of major safety failures at Boeing in a hearing featuring an engineer from the plane maker who claims that sections of the skin on 787 Dreamliner jets are not properly fastened and could eventually break apart.
The whistleblower, Sam Salehpour, sent documents to the Federal Aviation Administration, which is investigating the quality and safety of Boeing’s manufacturing. Another whistleblower - Ed Pierson, a former manager on the 737 program - and two other aviation technical experts are also on the witness list. Read more here: bit.ly/3UipTgY

Remember the last whistleblower ....RIP
They couldn't afford another pr hit that's why he's still living.
@@playably ...for now
I was literally just saying didn't he die 3/24/24 or something like that... sheesh. This is getting scary
These people are really brave just because of this. I feel the fear and insecurity in their voice.
i hope this guy is already closed to retirement, and I really hope there would be some whitblower protection program. Too many of such people like him are later harassed and unemployable. Hope it will turn ok for him for his bravery.
There needs to be criminal charges against Boeing management and board of directors for all the souls lost in MAX crashes
guess what they got away with it move on
There needs to be criminal charges against capitalism then. That the only "rational" reason for the decline in quality - cost savings.
This won't happen as the corrupted government is protecting big corporations. If you have money in the US, you can get away with a manslaughter 😢
CZcams scumbag censors are removing comments whenever you use the m**********r word around Boeing.
CZcams censors are removing comments whenever you use harsh words around Beoing. For example you cannot use the m word for the 737 Max 8 tragedy.
this the best Airbus advertisement to date.
McDonnell Douglas gave Boeing corporate syphilis.
Well said!
Which they accepted. Happily. With money. You are correct. That was 1997.
😂😂. That marriage was bad
Theold saying, McDonald Douglas bought Boeing with Boeings on money.
Hahaha....I love that!😅
Thank you all for speaking up for everyone who travels .
I can hear Linda Belcher saying it!
A whistleblower hearing on of the backbones of our world’s travel and this video only has 39k views…..crazy. THIS actually matters and the broken system needs to be fixed ASAP.
I was thinking the same thing. 😔😥 It's terrifying.
This has been in my feed since it posted, but I've actively avoided watching it because I expect softball questions by legislators getting funding from Boeing for their next re-election and, at best, FAA officials who refuse to ask questions that would be appropriate but self-incriminating against the FAA.
I have ZERO faith in the American government to properly address this issue, so this show-and-dance is all a facade. I'm only at the start of this video now because it's a sleepless 3 a.m. and maybe this video will be uneventful and long enough to drift me back to sleep 😴 💤
youtube did its best to bury this. i had to manually search for it on the AP channel.
This should be a real rage bait. Yet, this one CZcams successfully supressed... grats
Thank you for speaking out! Boeing management needs to be in jail!
go tell them
@@nickolliver3021 you give boeing employees free bjs

Truth
Donald Trump signed Executive Order 13771 “Reducing Regulation and Controlling Regulatory Costs" yet nobody says anything about it.
Trump cares only for him self.
Ah yes its Donald Trump that caused it. How about boeing own integrity. How about the whistleblowers talking about Boeing working with NTSB and FAA. And you want to play politics.
How did the executive order affect Boeing not having integrity and using government favors to skirt around accountability
Boeing customers are way more powerful than any government oversight agency. And that is what Boeing is “reacquainting” themselves with.
@flamboone9727 If there was gv't oversight consumers wouldn't have to findout about production deficiencies by sitting next to a door that's blowing out or a plane peeling off its superstructure mid flight.
@@TheRaferaf There is also government oversight in the automotive industries. And yet their customers are the ones that matter. Commercial aircrafts are many times more sensitive to the customer’s decisions because of the amount it takes to invest in one product and the time it takes to get a positive ROI.
Honestly, this is so embarrassing for a company like Boeing with such history and heritage. The fact that it came to this point is insane. SMH 🤦
do you really belive companies with history and heritage have hight standard just because of it? obviously you never worked as engineer in a company that is supposed to bring profit.
Corporate rot. Cronyism not capitalism unfortunately
It's a waste of time to be a decent person in an indecent society (America - rotten to the core).
this is what capitalism looks like - it drives greed. time for socialism and actually caring for people.
Thank you guys for standing up for something!
WITHOUT A DOUBT I WOULD TRUST MY LIFE WITH THESE TYPES OF GENTLEMEN NOT Boeing’s management. Period!
i wonder how much this 'wistleblower protection' is worth...and whether anything would come of coming out and testifying anyway.
Thankyou for speaking up.
Hmmm, should I be suspicious that Joe's testimony was cut off just when he was pinpointing specific irregularities?
Um, yeah
@@susanberbec1226 definitely sus.
That’s exactly what brought me to the comments 😮… that’s intentional. I’m going to look for this hearing somewhere else to see if it’s any different.
Missing Joe Jacobsen testimony (1)“The MAX crew alerting system doesn't meet current design standards, and by my count the old standard has contributed to eight fatal crashes of Boeing aircraft and 885 deaths? since 1996.
Despite this dismal safety record, in July 2022, Boeing Chief Safety Officer Mike Delaney stated
"I personally have no belief that there's any value in changing the 737." CEO Dave Calhoun lobbied further and said "This is a risk I'm willing to take. If I lose the fight, I lose the fight." Boeing lobbying efforts succeeded and the ACSAA legislative deadline for producing a compliant MAX crew alerting system was removed.
Design unsafe conditions and inflight emergencies appeared almost immediately after the MAX returned to service. First, faulty electrical bonding and grounding, followed by a "bad batch" of stabilizer trim motors. Since then, on the design side, we've seen FAA identify unsafe conditions for the engines, the engine anti-ice system, and the standby power control unit. On the manufacturing side, FAA has identified unsafe conditions for engine anti-ice (EAl) exhaust duct fasteners, compromised sealant adhesion within the center fuel tank, and loose bolts in the rudder assembly. Since the door plug blowout, we've seen stuck rudder pedals and FAA has revealed another unsafe condition due to chafing of mis-installed electrical wire bundles to the wing spoilers. Rather than an immediate inspection to prevent uncommanded rolls, Boeing and FAA are proposing to allow up to three years, gambling on a slow chafing rate for improperly routed wire bundles.”
Joe Jacobsen missing testimony (2) The "grandfathered" design of the MAX leaves many vulnerabilities. When combined with a failure to investigate the manufacturing chaos identified nearly six years ago by Ed Pierson, this led to a predictable, but still shocking, list of unsafe conditions.
In addition to the unsafe conditions, other MAX certification mistakes were identified and granted design exemptions by the FAA. The stall management yaw damper and the flap-slat electronics unit® aren't required to be fixed until March of 2027, leaving them vulnerable to effects of lightning and high intensity radiated fields (HIRF).
Even when not identified by FAA as unsafe conditions, we've seen other serious incidents. On February 24, 2023, a brand new 737 MAX made an emergency landing after the horizontal.
Another day and another testimony. NOTHING will be done while innocent people suffer the loss of their loved ones for years to come.
I have worked as Quality engineer in less critical industries. What happened at Boeing is a catastrophy!!!
I'm 50+ and have been involved with doing quality control and testing for Boeing products and facilities years ago and is where I learned some of the highest standards I can remember. Boeing previously had a culture of the highest quality and pride of workmanship that you could expect. That can be restored. Take the pencil pushers out of control. They don't care because they don't understand the situation and impact of their actions. When you insentivise management by what the stock price is, this is what happens. When you put a person in charge that takes pride in the product produced, you will get quality products again. The CEO should not make more money than 10 times the highest paid line worker. Bring management down onto the floor to work with the workers. They need to close the ivory towers and experience reality. They need to be committed to the product.
So much respect for him .
The witness is wasting his time. The people he os testifying before are part of the problem.
He is writing his life story above all else, standing up for what he believes in and that’s never a waste of time.
44:07 when Sam said if anything happens to me I am at peace he got emotional I felt those words…..
This is what happens when corporations put wall street and profit over engineering and safety
That the American way profits over everything else that’s why America manufactures always have recalls
There is some truth here. Find the facts.
Americans are at fault too, worshipping billionaires and kissing their feet. Of course the rich will view normal, everyday citizens as disposable bugs. You think Boeing CEO and board of directors care that people died on company planes? 😂
Gladly
Trust is more than credentials, a persons background matters.
How many watching this are regular mentour pilot content watchers?
Loved his MH370 analysis
I watch, but not regularly.
I am.
Not me. Also some of his videos are a bit too politically correct on Boeing.
👋🏼
poor behaviours like just about every large corporation I've ever worked at, the problem is the impact of failure is severe when it comes to air travel.
Goodness, Keep him safe and sound 🙏
Listen to Ed Pierson powerful testimony
Where?
7:35
They let go all of the old guys that knew how to build/design airplanes. They were too expensive.
This, expectedly, didn't age well..
I personally work on theses planes Boeing has a lot to answer for. But likely nothing will change it is criminal. This case is what greed does to human beings. Life doesn’t matter to most at the end of the day as long as select few get their golden parachutes.
19:12 ah, modern reporting at it's finest.
Boeing and FAA exec's should be ordered to fly Boeing planes instead of private ones.
INTERVIEW THE QA. I BET THEY HAVE A LOT TO SAY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE AIRPLANE.
Airbus has the same problems.
So they are having an argument over whether it’s worth taking the planes out of service to fix them because it’s bad for the economy to fix them.
It was American Airlines that demanded to order for 737 Maxs that no new pilot certification be required. The FAA required no 2 nd AOA vane be on aircraft for a currently used certification. Same with pilot training -no new training Pilots were to use trim cutout switches for trim runaway as in previous designs
They are complicit
Let's hope the whistleblower can survive this
I don’t ever fly on Boeing aircraft anymore. It’s like rolling the dice….
Does the way back machinr work for these topics?
1:18:34 yes
You know the best way to get your stock to continually rise?! Don't build planes that crash. It's literally an infinite money glitch. Only complete idiots would cut corners on a product when you are at the top of the game.
It WORKED!!!😯😎And it went MUCH much better than before! Now, we can just go when its time to go...😲😲🤯! It was super easy, Thank you very much!! 🙏💐
What are you talking about?
Just wondering: taking this hearing as a general example for all the hearings we hear about. What is their purpose? To my knowledge nothing ever gets done about the issues discussed. My opinion: it’s just a way for politicians to seemingly show for the general audience that they are upset about the issues discussed and that they care. But it’s just that and nothing more: putting in a show
In before he "deletes himself"...
Some people need to go jail 🤬
I tried sharing this on Facebook and it complained of graphical content
I will never take Boeing planes again
Weird how from 1826 till about 20 minutes there's a gap in the playback
To see Joe Jacobsen's opening remarks that are suspiciously missing from most posts of the hearing.. CBS included his opening statement in their video of the same hearing. Very interesting it was removed from several other videos of this Hearing.. especially since Joe is dropping names!
Profit over safety never ends well.
my recent frequent short flight from SG to KL, i avoid taking any boeing plan with recent cases (namely the max). i rather take a C919 or a Embraer E190 at lease the odds are better
I agree,, I work in airline industry the crj and embraers never have issues like Boeing ,,
Congress hearing something has become a creative way of doing abslutely nothing about it.
Where’s department of transportations Pete Butigiege? Is he on paternity leave ?
What is the FAA waiting for to ground all Boeing planes??? Another tragedy?
Boeing is in bed with the FAA
Remember John Barnett.
Sen. Marshall’s questions/statements were absolutely inappropriate and worthless! He used his time to advertise a wind tunnel and suggested all Boeing 777/787 can have the hulls tested at this particular wind tunnel. This inappropriate form of advertising and push to run Boeing planes through this wind tunnel suggests Sen. Marshall has some type of financial interest in this wind tunnel. He’s promoting self-interests before public safety!! Kansas, vote out Sen. Marshall. Find another republican to better represent Kansas and public safety!
Very sorry for your loss. 🙏
Interesting how it cut off when the last Joe was giving specific examples of issues… 🤔
i love that people are speaking out. i absolutely hate boeing
I am happy that websites such as Kayak, when booking flights, you can filter out all the models of boeing airplanes. From what I've learned... I do not want to fly on one of their planes. now there is an easy way to make sure! :)
Boeing needs to be nationalized. It's already vital to our defense infrastructure, there's no reason not to.
Govt agencies enabled Boeing's bad practices by not doing their job. If they can't handle their limited role now, why would giving them full control help at all??
@@blackosprey2219Financial incentives, do you ever see this type of rampant corruption in something like the USPS? No because the goal isn't to make money it's to keep the service running. We could nationalize Boeing and instead of giving billions to an idiot like Musk to make rockets that explode we could ensure that people with a moral backbone and years of qualifications like the people testifying here have the support and manpower they need to do their jobs.
What a brave man, respect !🙏
Two whistleblowers dead now. They need to protect these guys.😮
Aren’t they talking about the 787 now?
And just like that, he’s dead.
Never again, fly in a Boeing
I salute these brave men.
Politician trying to plug a research facility in his state to do structural testing in a wind tunnel. Politicians, smh.
Stress test in wind tunnels to assure a politician 🤡
This is appalling, but frankly, not surprising. May justice be served!
sickening corruption
When you have as much prestige and money as Boeing does in the USA you can literally get away with a lot unfortunately
Boeing... this guy doesn't know what he is talking about
Meanwhile in Africa... wheel falling off.
We all have watched videos of parts flapping or falling off the aircraft.
RIP
Who is Mr. Salehpours boss?
A wheel came off a Boeing 737 in South Africa this weekend.
RIP Sir 🫡
Horrrrrrible
Why are these assembly lines shut down?
Wow. Need Mary Schiavo back.
Johnson sounded more like a defense attorney for Boeing.
For some people some issues just aren't issues :/
Oh Well,
Flying Boeing today is essentially playing Russian roulette with you and your family's life.
.005" ( five thousands of an inch ) is the diameter of 2 human hairs. To the average person that is not a lot, but to anyone who machine parts know that is like throwing a football in a stadium and trying to hit grass.
Definitely not flying Boeing again
No,fly a Cessna next time,or take the bus..No,you go with a car,much safer.
@@miquel440 Most airlines world wide, are buying only Airbus... for some reason.
This isnt true. @whatacnut
@@bbhybris Yes it is. 100% true. In Europe, most airlines ONLY order (new) from Airbus. Even Embraer is far more competitive rn.
But don‘t go by my info, check it yourself. Please.
Another guy that now needs 24:7 protection.
They will off him and life will go on. Just like the last guy!
24/6. Sundays will be his "rest days" quote - Federal Beauru of I 😂
Thanks to those brave whistle-blower 🙏 I now have concerns everyone I will enter a Boeing plane . I will now prefer airlines that fly with Airbus !!
Imagine being the reporter that forgot the s ....hahaha
1. So many Advocats, but they are not able to identify the responsible one?
2. What us more a threat on US-future: The Chinese or themselves?
3. BP-Gulf desaster, that supervisery system / safery agency was physically in bed with the offshore people.
Where stands the Boeing bed?
4. Lets see when they buy an Airbus to fly PONTUS?
“Live Boeing Whistleblower”? I wonder for how long.
Interesting
Another recently dead. RIP
I thought that was Kenneth Copeland for a second 💀
is this testimonies censored?
No BOEING, Please change to Airbus!
Airbus will be laughing all the way to the bank ...
All this intell.came from the machinist there years ago.
Boeing needs to ditch the MacDonald Douglas attitude of money and stock price being important and go back to engineering values of safety and quality.
Its McDonnell Douglas…
lets see how long these guys last
