I might be listening to this once a week. I injured my shoulder, and it's set me way back. I'm now starting from scratch. The mottiv app was deep sleeped by my phone since I haven't worked out in so long. Might as well start today, and get at it.

I'm 43. Last year I went from 253 to 143lbs. I started lifting and running. I've plateaued at about 180. I do about 50 miles a week. I think what you are saying is great. I find having recovery days are also super important. Sometimes 2 days off is good. I've not been injured and I think it's largely because I allow recovery periods. Other than that great video. All good stuff here.

You were exactly the weight I am and are now the weight of my target goal. My old cycling race weight. Thanks for the tips!!

Great tips! As a longtime endurance athlete that has always struggled with weight, I can say you've been able to articulate a few points that I had trouble understanding that have been keeping me from optimal weight loss. I'd also add that every two or three weeks there should be a pull back/recovery week.

#1 The calories in calories (CICO) model was debunked a decade ago and was replaced by the lipid energy model. CICO does not consider hormones such as leptin, ghrelin, cortisol, and most importantly, insulin. #5 In general, chronic cardio (low intensity) is not effective for fat-burning. Sprinting (or HIIT) is much more effective for burning fat, especially for burning the dangerous visceral fat.

      ROFL 🤣
I knew one of these people would show up. You probably watch fat acceptance videos.

@OmahaTonyG Yes, I accept my 9.8% body fat. Those fatfluencers to whom you refer are all dead. But thanks for your comment.

@@Wings_nut this is funny. I lost few pounds through intermittent fasting. And then it stuck for the longest time. Carb reduction helps but some say it is not healthy..... I am super confused now.

@@Kelberi Intermittent fasting will help control insulin. It doesn't hurt to reduce or eliminate carbs altogether. They're not essential; only protein and fats from animal sources are essential. Hope this helps.
