    I wanted to say thank you! On October 2nd 2023 I started your 6 week (building up plan) so I could run nonstop. This morning I ran a full 5K non stop in 36min 15sec. I have you and your plan to thank for that. I just wanted you to know that you helped someone. To anyone that watches this video and might read this. Don’t think about it just do it. I’m 44 years old 6’1 274lbs. it’s never too late to start! Now I have a time to beat and I’m on to a 10K running plan! Thanks again!

    I love your insight into your journey. We all have setbacks over ours athletic careers. I’m now 61 and have over multiple serious injuries … the human body is resilient! I have remained focused and taken slow deliberate steps forward listening to my body! Being a RN for 35+ years and a lifetime athlete I’ve recognized that self awareness if key. Compete against yourself! Living your own journey is key!

    I just started running a month ago. This video is incredibly helpful as I've had certain beliefs from years ago that you've helped clarify. Thank you!

    Everyone told me running comes naturally…. But not for me! So thank you for this. I need the basics. I do well in triathlons during the swim and bike, but fall behind on the run. Hope this helps!

    Literally so stoked this was released while I was boarding my plane! Something I am absolutely struggling with! The book you have is wonderful, read it twice, but just watching this, hits some point missed. Ready to try some new misc changes on my afternoon run in Miami!

    So good to hear your nutrition advice…people have been running for years…before all of these brands marketed their products….most are not necessary

      Just wanted to say that we’re on the same page here. Started running mainly because covid restrictions became tighter because of the new omicron thing.

    Hey! Loved the video, just did the first run and I’m feeling pretty good with myself. I have a question regarding run#2, if I take 50secs rest after the sprint, that would mean a 5 minutes workout? What would be a good warmup? Not sure but it feels a bit short compared to the 24 minutes on run 1…even though I’m sure I will be out of air after the first one 😂

    Brigid Kosgei is a notorious heel striker..... As long as your foot lands underneath your center of mass it's all good. Biomechanics are unique to each individual. Trying to change your foot strike is like asking someone right handed to write with his/her left hand !!!!

      I have recovered from injury making use of barefoot style shoes. But they are not a miracle solution and do not work for anyone. I needed to work on foot strengthening and it took a lot of exercising and specific stretches and the shoes were great to help me with my needs.
      Though I can't in good conscience say that I could recommend it for everyone. I love my barefoot style trail runners but now that I want to get into running rather than just hiking, I wonder if they are what I need for that shift in activity

    How important is zone 2 training like being under a certain hr for beginners? Should beginners only focus on zone 2 in the beginning? Also what’s the best watch for running under $200?

    Something to note, it looks like the treadmill has a positive angle, or incline, so on a flat surface you would have more of a forward lean. Or I just need glasses. Lol

    So you've changed your opinion on fasted training? As you used to be all for fasted training in easy runs/cycling zone 2?

    • @TriathlonTaren
      @TriathlonTaren  Před 2 lety +2

      Nope, never was. I was for reducing carbs before low intensity workouts, but not big on fasted training. I actually think it poses many risks

      @@TriathlonTaren Ok, I might be remembering your videos from a year or so ago wrong, in my memory I thought it was fasted you said in the videos, maybe it was low carbs not fasted.

    7 or 8 Ounces? To me, it sounds like a magical measure, like measuring something in squirrels.
