This was one of the songs that got me through tough days during Covid and losing my job. The video is worth a watch.
Hope you didn’t lose your job for not getting vaccinated. Either way I’m so sorry. ❤️
@@laurarominger2073 Lots of people lost jobs because of covid, myself included. Got the vaccine and improved my data on my phone at the same time.
@@melissahall1701 Not sure what your point is.
@@laurarominger2073we lose jobs, we another job. We lose vaccines, we get more.
Has deservedly been ranked as one of the best songs of the 90s. I listen to this song frequently when I need something uplifting. Great message and also kind of rebellious. Perfection. “You only get what you give” - my parents always said this to me, way before this song was released. Resonates!
This whole album is worth a listen.
Every track has this "vibrant, rockin' " vibe.
One of my favorites from the 90's.
My favorite album of all time- every song was so great! Gregg Alexander was a genius in my opinion.
Strongly agree! Such an underrated masterpiece, too often written off as 90s cheese. Love it.
This song gave hope to a lot of people. No matter how bad things are, you've got a lot to live for and beautiful music is one of those many things. So so uplifting!! Music is a gift from God!!
Hands down, this is in my top five favorite songs from the 1990s. Part of what I love is that the singer seems to have been influenced by Jeff Lynne of ELO (the way his voice breaks between head voice/falsetto and his normal chest voice). The lyrics inspire, the beat is rocking, and the vibe is just feel good! I worked at a job that had this in rotation on their in-store music for months on end, hearing it once every 90 minutes or so every day, and I never got sick of the song. Amazingly enough...I always looked forward to it (if I wasn't busy).
The band actually reunited and performed the song at President Biden's Inauguration in 2021...and they rocked it!
You know it's good when Asia doesnt hesitate to add it to her playlist :)
Hey my friends. I have had a tough month or two. This song is definitely uplifting this Saturday morning. I'll be back strong soon. Hope you two are doing well. I love you guys ❤
awww James you are in our prayers always!! Much love fam!
This song is so positive and uplifting that I turn it up every time I hear it. The power of music is essential to humanity. Great reaction.
Aww you guys - the Origianl Video just lifts this song to a Whole Other Level! Hope you take the time to see it on your own. Def worth the Watch!!
Perfectly captures the late 90’s - 2000’s in every way! Whew, take me back 😭🔥🎧
Glad you enjoyed it!
I second that emotion!
absolutely.
The fashion in the video too.
This is one of my favorite late 90's /early 2000 songs. It captures the end of the 90's which was a decade of positive energy. The video is excellent as well.
It's hard to believe this song is 25 years old now. I thought my kids were going to wear out their DVD's of this album in 1998 and 1999. They were so disappointed when the group broke up after 1 album. They even got me into the group. On November 3, 1998 this song was released as a single. The kids were 17 and 18 at the time. The oldest graduated in May from HS. Thank you for your reaction of this great song Asia and BJ.
Great song that touched all of us!!
The actual music video takes place in a mall so it’s total 90’s nostalgia
A pickup song for sure!!!!! Love this motivational song for many reasons…. Glad you both loved it 😊….. What we put out in the world 🌎, always comes back to us….. Let’s all be good humans and give as much love ❤️ to everyone we see… It will make you smile 😊….. Have a blessed weekend guys…..
Yes! Thank you!
@@AsiaandBJ hey this song is fantastico!
The singer Gregg Alexander also wrote "The Game of Love" performed by Santana and Michelle Branch.
This is such a great song! This is always up there on the playlist. With Toploader - Dancing in the moonlight and Europe - the final countdown. Such a classic!
You couldn’t turn on the radio in 1999 without hearing this.
Love this song, and I DO listen to it when things get low. Great reaction guys!
Every single words hits, even after all those years!! Never fails to lift me up and is in EVERY playlist I have. NEVER gets old 💪🏻❤
The whole album is so good, I recommend to check out more from New Radicals Try “Mother we just can’t get enough” or “Someday We’ll Know” next guys!
Yes!! Both of those songs! Loved the whole album....! ❤
This was their only "hit" but what a hit to have! I still love this song all these years later
This song came out in 1999 in my senior year of high school and is still one of the most positive songs I ever heard. I still dance when I hear it and smile.
This is definitely one of those songs that let us know that the great era of music in the 90s was dead.
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Just love this song. Love the message. Great, uplifting tune that you sing loud in your car to.
I was 20 when this song came out. It was a good year in my life.
From this album “I hope I just didn’t give away the ending”. One of the trippiest songs - just love it.
The lead singer of this was a huge songwriter and producer and just basically created one album with this hit song, built a band and toured for exactly one year just to prove that he could. Then he went back to songwriting and producing.
Carol King said this song showed her that great songs still exist, Carol freaking King, one of the greatest singer songwriters to ever walk this Earth
The whole album is great... ❤️
You should here the live performance of this song that was on the tonight show, it was incredible. Greg Alexander is an amazing singer and writer !!
It belongs in a playlist right after, "Under Pressure", by Queen. ✌️
I have always loved this song ever since it was first released. Today is the first time I will be celebrating my brother's birthday without him as he passed away just over a month ago. I don't even know if he ever heard this song before, but I have been watching reaction videos to this song today and basically been bawling my eyes out.
I’m so sorry for your loss. If he hadn’t heard it before he’s hearing it now.
@@laurarominger2073 thank you. He was 50 at the time of his death, and 45 turning 46, so we're not really too far apart in age, but he was definitely not a big follower of pop music, but I do believe that even if he didn't like the sound of this song he would have appreciated the message.
Reminds me of a quote from Sun Tzu; "You have to believe in yourself.”✌
A couple other songs of theirs that got some radio airplay back in the day from the same album were “Mother We Just Can’t Get Enough”, and “Someday We’ll Know”. These are also great songs.
This is the song that takes me back to the 1990s. It’s the anthem of generation X. this was BNR’s only hit as they had much distain for fame.
One of my favorite songs with a great message! Thank you for this great reaction! 💙✌
We had to choose tracks for the office Xmas CD. Only 4 of us in our office and the one lady picked this as part of her 8 favourite tracks. Needless to say this track was near on repeat. Mind you I had the Cure and Travis so no real competition there lol😂
So energising and uplifting. Great reaction too.
Thank you so much!!
Now that I have your attention how about reacting to some classic 70's Isley Brothers ? Would make me very happy.
“Come around we’ll kick your ass in!” Lol
This song, written and sung by Gregg Alexander (New Radicals), was chosen by the Biden administration as their theme song of healing and unity (Gregg Alexander and the New Radicals reunited on CZcams to sing this - a first in 20 years). As well, Alexander is a Grammy Award winning writer with "Game of Love" performed by Santana. In short, Alexander isn't a one-hit wonder; he just prefers to be behind the scenes.
First to say that I really love this song!!!!!! ♥️✌️
This song is just like E.L.Os Mr Blue Sky, you put it on and listen and you're on a high, probably one of the best one hit wonders, love it
The lead singer actually wrote a hit for Santana and had a movie based closely on his life
I found this and so many cool songs from that series called Cold Case! LOVE!
Great upbeat song! Very positive! Thanks for reviewing ❤
Bono and Edge of U2 have said publicly that they wish they had written this song!
You have to check out "I Hope I Didn't Just Give Away the Ending" from the same album.
Can't hear this song without thinking of The Fonz being in "Click" That and Courtney Love. Love that lady.
black white brown yellow ALL like this vibe
This song always lifts me up. Had the cd and have probably listened to it a thousand times. And realized I didn’t know half the lyrics until watching this! Hahaha
Didn't recognize the band or song title, but then heard song and was like, " Ah, I remember this now!" The memories...
Another great reaction Asia and BJ👍
Great song, heard it this morning and it picked me right up!!!
This 68yo is having a blast w/ your channel. Love how you go into every song blind so we receive an honest reaction. Then there's Asia's award winning smile... Being from the Metroplex doesn't hurt either. 😉 My favorite still is Asia's reaction to Smoke On The Water. Priceless. Wind my evenings down most nights by catching a couple of your videos. Keep the groove going!
Glad you enjoy it!
The opening track on the album called "Mother We Just Can't Get Enough" is top shelf feel-good jam!
Another energizing vibe is Endicott by King Creole and the Coconuts.
Great fun song!!! Thanks for reacting to this song.
I love this song .. very catchy!! 🍃🌺🍃🌸🍃🌼🍃
While it's true this is a one hit wonder, Gregg Alexander wrote and produced numerous hits for other artists.
I once heard a top UK daytime DJ describe this as "neither new nor radical" yet here we are years later . . .
I have the album (it´s called Maybe You´ve Been Brainwashed Too) - believe me, that´s bomb. There is no weak song and some lyrics are realy incredible and funny. I love it. It´s one of the best albums I have and I have some realy great music. I wish they made more music.BTW, here is something more about New Radicals and Gregg Alexander czcams.com/video/Or1TPbgpKRs/video.html (you will realize that Gregg is realy not just one hit wonder)
Very catchy tune! The "Don't Let Go" part is what I remember very well. Nice one Daisy! Request: Donnie Iris--Ah Leah; it won't disappoint. New Radicals reminds me of the band Scissor Sisters and their hit "I Don't Feel Like Dancing" is also a great one to listen to.
Can't say this tune is anything I would have in my library of music but.... it is a feel good tune.....
I really hoped they (actually he) issued the second album in late 90s!
Probably my favorite one-hit wonder from the 90s
For sure in my Top 10 favorite songs ever
this song instantly makes me think of the live action Scooby doo 2, brings me right back to childhood!
One of my guilty pleasures in a weird way.
Love that song!
Love love love this jam. 🥳😊 Good message to remember - you get what you give 👍💕
Thanks for listening
@@AsiaandBJ thank you for what you do and belated Happy birthday to my Scorpio sister Asia🦅💞🥳
Love this track, always have.
You know I loved this reaction. 😘
You're the best!
Always on my playlist! They have another great song called Mother from A Walk To Remember. Its a must hear!!
I've never seen the lyrics to this song before and they actually get quite political at the end of the song with references to big bankers, the FDA and celebrities in their big mansions!
More feel good music "I Just Want to Celebrate by Rare Earth" You will literally jump out of your chairs and dance. It's fantastic and uplifting and joyful.
I was in 8th or 9th grade when this came out. I still feel like it should only be a few years old. Not over 20. I know how my parents feel now.
I"d still own this CD if I hadn't moved out west....It's actually a pretty solid album, very catchy & well produced. You can probably snag this in the bargain bin at a used CD shop...
I remember this from the Bubble Boy movie
Great song!
Great songs
One of the few cds I bought from the 90s.
I ♥️ this song!
Always a favorite!
I like the song and everthing but I'm not sure the whole " You only get what you give " thing is always true. Know many people who have either worked hard there whole life and/or are very intelligent and they still struggle there whole life.
Watching this first thing in the morning it's giving me life 🙌 get up and go, the video's pretty cool.
This song always reminds me of the animated movie surfs up
You should watch the official video version as well.
That song was mu anthem Back then in 90s
This song is everything. We need this song on the world now. It’ll be ok. 🌸💖
This is Ice-T’s favorite song, don’t know how I remember that but I do
Great reaction and song. One little note - the lyrics were wrong. It should have been "you feel your tree is breaking, just BEND".
Awesome song..
I love this dude's voice!!!
And one that I listen to on the way to work!
That entire album, Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too, is amazing start to finish. To this day it's still one of my favorite albums of all time. It's such a shame they called it quits so soon.
The 90s🥰
Sounds like... ... VICTORY!
Just a great toe tapping, feel good song.
Following you for a really long time guys, also some of the movies reactions 🙏💙 love from Israel 🇮🇱 Excellent choice adding it to your playlist 😁
First time I heard this I thought it was ELO🤣
