If you can afford them Red wing is the way to go. I've worn many pairs of shitty boots, that's probably half the reason I walk funny now. I can't wait to get myself a pair of $200+ Red wings. It's not that much compared to what some of these people pay for the dunks and whatever vintage sneakers we wore as kids.

I've heard a few sports medicine professionals talk about it happening to their semipro athletes.
I also just remembered one of the biggest issues with steel toes is that the toe caps themselves are meant to fit both sides. They don't have a left and right form for them which can cause uneven pressure on the toes or cramp them.
Red wing is, in my opinion, the best boot available. Comfortable, tough, and the only boot i can squeeze 2 years out of. Timberland doesn't get enough recognition, they make awesome comfortable work boots as well. Glad to see them getting some love. I was surprised not to see any Carolina boots on here. They are a amazing boot, especially if your on a student budget.

thoroughgood's aren't that comfortable is boot I've owned I don't know how many sets of them but what they do offer is the ultimate foot protection when you eat dum dum for lunch and drop in 1800 lb Beam on your foot you get to keep your toes
Sure if you like a $250 boot thats wore out after 9 months. Then they wont stand behind their product and will try to upsale you again with a $90 resole.
My buddy swears by them. Never owned a pair personally. Might have to try them out since now the closest Redwing dealer is over an hour and a half away.
“If they ain’t comfy hit it with a hammer” some old head mentioned it to me in the shoe store when I was young. Turns out he’s right🤣😂the Justin drywall line is stiff as a gawd damn board. I went at em for about 30 minutes just twisting and compressing the leather. Now the most comfortable boots I own😂

I wore timberland pros. Went to buy replacement boots and the specific timberland pros were not in stock. So I got Ariats. They were not as comfortable as my 2 year old worn out timberland pros.
Red Wings are awesome. No arguing there. Just suprised no one mentioned the Brunt’s Got me a pair and have been throughly surprised. They are my go-to pair lately. 🇺🇸👍
Carolina's! I've been laying asphalt for a few decades and have tried them all but Carolina's seem to last the longest. 325 degree asphalt is hard on a boot to say the least!!! Lol. Like wearing slippers after the initial break-in
Depending on what conditions I’m in, I wear Ariat Boots, Carolina Work Boots, Wolverines, and Justin. I only have one pair of steel toe boots from Timberland. I do however prefer my Carolina boots since they are very comfortable for me and are not too heavy.
Twisted x for me I walk and climb 8-9 miles per shift and have great support and most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn, been wearing them for over 10 years and last more than red wing and ariat don’t like the thorogoods they are not comfortable at all and a pain to lace them up, Justin’s are for entry level people barely dipping their toes in the field and once they wear out they upgrade to other boots
When the steel starts to show through, you need to weld the toes together & set em back in front of the dudes locker. Funniest thing in the world- watching a guy try to grind his boots apart before the bell rings. Btw, I bought a pair of Franks Patriot about a year ago, the best boots Ive ever owned & Ive been welding for 35 years.
My family in Mexico wear tire thread sandals and trust me theyre made for 2 billion miles , leather straps need replacement before you run out of tire thread😅 true story
I must’ve bought the wrong Timberland pros because when I bought my Georgia Giants I threw them Tims right in the trashcan. The most painful steel toe boots I’ve ever wore.
I see all these false prophet boots get mentions but no one mentions the actual messiah of workman's boots: Moc toe Thorogoods Favorite of ironworkers and riggers everywhere
Best I ever had was Dr. Martens Industrial, they discontinued that line, but I’ve been wearing my pair for 4 years and they’re even more comfortable than the shoes I wear 😂 Steel toe, slip resistant, static dissipative. They are great! I just replaced the laces and insoles the other day and have been looking at mink oil and other conditioners to make them look good again. But I don’t plan to stop wearing them!
I’ve never had a pair of red wings that lasted me longer than 6 months, don’t know if it’s because the salesman doesn’t know what I’m actually looking for or what but I’ll never buy red wings again. Id rather get the 50$ special from Walmart once a year. Standing in 1-2 inches of water all day.
