Interesting fact is about 80% of Kitchen nightmares featured restaurants were closed off after the show, because they were either just too far gone down the ground o the owners/chefs reverted back to old habits again. Sad for the employees, they could have left for better job. But they stuck to it, loved their workplace, loved their bosses.

Oil fires in pots or pans only bear one single trap: water. Don't! Add! Water!!

Metal fire by the way has the same effect, only the mechanism is different. There the temperature is that high that the water splits into oxygen and hydrogen. And a mixture of hydrogen and oxygen is highly explosive.

Btw, I said I enjoy Florida. If you ask me what country I love I would have to say Sweden with Norway very very close (it may be the other way around if I spoke Norwegian instead of Swedish.) Living in Stockholm for a year as a student was one of my nicest years of my life ❤️. (I had already studied 1,5-2y of Swedish at university prior to doing a few courses there, which helped greatly as all my courses were in Swedish. No exception and I only used English with other exchange students. Had I failed because I thought I was better at Swedish than Iwae, well too bad for me, but then I shouldn’t have applied as I knew beforehand it would be fully in Swedish.
It was great speaking my favorite language for a year and also be able to make more Swedish friends that way, and not just be restricted to international students. The Swedes seemed more open to a foreigner who spoke their language as apparently they are pretty selfconscious about their English and rather not need to use it. (Average person). That notion was told by a Swede 4years prior to me moving there, which is now 26y so things could very well be very different now with social media. Gordon helped these guys out so much. It's crazy that Andy had anything to say about the show being "faked" after dude gave him a brand new kitchen for fucks sake. I love how old customers will go to YELP to express their discontent with the "new menu" but the f-ing restaurant was empty all the time which is why they even asked for Gordon to come. I've started to notice a re-occurring theme with the show. These restaurants actually think they're doing shit the right way, but think they don't have the marketing budget so they invite Ramsay to come through, and then they find out that their restaurant is actually shit from a vetted, experienced chef and successful business owner. 9.5/10 times, if the restaurant is shit, it's because the owners are ok with it being shit and don't have the skill or discipline to run a successful business. How the fuck you own a restaurant and never go into the fridge? lmao

ohmygod this. because ppl are out here being like "the old patrons left 🥺 theyre shut down now🥺🥺" as if there weren't literally 5 regular patrons, half of which are now in that obituary section. they shut down because of incompetence and their reluctance to actually make an effort.

The only ones claiming the show is faked are the ones going back to the way their restaurant was before and closing up after a few months. How am I not surprised?XD

I've got an very important question. Why do so many Murica-Restaurants have carpets instead of tiles or wood/fake-wood floors? Food falls down, people stamp it inside the carpet. Cleaning is not easy!

agreed. carpets in restaurants or pubs is just yucky. eventually it would smell like old, stale food no matter how often you vacuum it and it would wear out pretty quickly on the path to the kitchen

    • @akkiko
      @akkiko Před 2 lety +5

My guess is a mix of old-architecture and cost. Carpets were likely cheaper to implement then hardwood or tile and people tried to sell it as a warmer atmosphere.

    What Happened Next at Fleming?
In the days that followed, they embraced the changes Gordon had made and Andy believes they are on the right track.
However two months after filming, they returned some customer favourites to the menu that were popular with patrons, whilst also keeping Gordon's original menu in place.
They also returned to serving crudites, offering soup of the day and Caesar salad with every meal.
They brought back the dessert bar.
They were inspired to make new changes including introducing theme nights and new early bird special, the Economic Recovery Menu.
Fleming closed in October 2010, 5 months after airing of the episode.
Yelp reviews after the filming are mixed.
Many of the regular customers didn't like Gordon's changes.
There have been some claims that the show is fake after the filming of this episode and Andy claimed he spent very little time with Gordon.
Fleming aired on May 07 2010, the episode was filmed in July 2009 and is Kitchen Nightmares season 3 episode 10.
