Lot's of basketball people think Phil's philosophy and style of basketball is old and no longer relevant. Little do they know the things he borrowed selflessness and the triangle offence were around a lot longer than Phil. He just knew how to make it relevant for his time. Not likely ever to be repeated.

GOAT
That last bit about obsession with winning being a "loser's game" really got to me.
1 get the best player ever (Mike) 2 get the best sidekick ever (pippin)3 get the best rebounder ever.(Rodman)4Get the most dominant player (shaq)5 get the best 6 man I've seen (kucoc)6 get the best clutch player to hit big shots that your stars can't ( horry)7get the best 2 guard not named Jordan (Kobe) that's how in other words have the best general managers (Krause and West)at that time.
biggest argument is how many rings would kobe mj shaq win w out phill?

6 Jordan’s and 5 Kobe’s! Who need a principles?
1st principle: have top five players on same team. 2nd principle: see principle 1. 3rd principle: see principle 2.
Not saying he isn't a great coach, I think he is the greatest, but talent is like 90% of a team's success.
Red Aurbach wasn't half bad.
Phil Jackson's coaching = Have the best players.
