Web of Fire is one of those games that feels like it should've been so much more than it turned out to be. It's not a terrible game by any means, but with a bit more time in development, it could've been something really special.

Ouch. It always hurts to love a developer when they give you some decent games like the two VectorMan games and Jurassic Park, and then hit you with something like THIS. I can just feel the lack of two more months to flesh out and finish the game a little bit more. Still better-looking than a lot of Spider-Man games I've played, I have to admit.

Not the best Spider-Man game I played , but I truly had so much fun playing it , even tho I was raised in the PlayStation 2 era , I thought the graphics were nice *for me anyway* , I really didn't mind Spider-Man having 3 hit combos while standing up or 1 while crawling or crouching .. web attacks were alright I guess , there aren't that many enemies , you're gonna see them all the time .. levels were short and repetitive , soundtrack was alright ..
BUT EVEN IF I sound negative I really liked this game id give it a 8/10 , in my opinion I think you should try it ..

I found it so very strange that Blue Sky used the New Enforcers (Dragon Man, The Eel, Thermite, Blitz, Tangle and Super Adaptoid) as the villains as they are incredibly obscure. Personally I would have used the Sinister Syndicate (Beetle, Boomerang, Hydro Man, Rhino, Shocker and Speed Demon) to be Hyrda's hired muscle. At least those villains are a a good mix of familiar and obscure and have dealt with Spider-Man much more. Overall I think the game is okay but definitely not worth the amount of money that it goes for. Thankfully I was able to get a complete in box copy years ago in super mint condition for a very good price.

If Sega just released the Saturn, and had not released the 32x or the Sega CD and allowed more ram carts with higher storage capacity probably would have been far more capabilities with the Genesis.

there's a fighting game with robots on the Genesis that has a robot gorilla with a cigar, and all the robots are pre-rendered 3d sprites.

At the price that it's going for in today's market, absolutely not. There are some moderately decent to good titles on the 32X, but Web of Fire, for me at least, isn't consider one of them. I assume the price is so high because it's one of the few licensed titles on the system, it's a region exclusive title and it's the final 32X title that was released in any region, sans reproductions.

The majority of 32x games that weren't 3D would have been better off as Genesis releases. This, Knuckles Chaotix, Cosmic Carnage, Tempo, Blackthorne. Some were rushed for the 32x lacking the polish they would have gotten as Genesis releases. Some like Tempo were worse off with non sensical backgrounds to show off the tech. Blackthorne aswell pushed the 3d rendered sprites which don't look as good as the pixel art.
