The Estonia comic at the end is quite incorrect as Finland is in favor of Estonia ascention into the Nordics as a full member. (They are already in the club, just not with the rank of Master) It's mostly the other Nordic countries objecting to it that is keeping Estonia from full membership.

After the Protestant Reformation, Scotland became a Protestant country while France remained Catholic, & during the absence of Mary I of Scotland, her French Catholic mother Mary of Guise ruled in her name, which was not accepted by the Scottish Protestant nobility. Soon after her death in 1560, Elizabeth I of England persuaded the Protestant-dominated Scottish Parliament to dissolve the Auld Alliance through the Treaty of Edinburgh. Charles I's marriage to Henrietta Maria of France resulting in the alliance of Louis XIV of France with Charles II of England had little to do with the Auld Alliance & more with their shared hostility towards the Hapsburgs, however even that alliance ended with William of Orange ascending the English throne in 1689, because before coming to England, William had to defend the Dutch Republic from the 1672 invasion of Louis XIV. Louis XIV's support to the Jacobites also had nothing to do with the Auld Alliance & much to do with placing his own people into the British crown because his brother Philippe Duke of Orleans had married Elizabeth Charlotte of the Palatinate who was a granddaughter of James VI's daughter Elizabeth. Scotland ceased to exist as a separate kingdom after the 1701 Act of Union. So Britain's alliance with France since WWI can't be considered to be a part of the Auld Alliance.
