One thing I always appreciate about your Myst LPs is that you run through several possible trains of thought while puzzle solving that are completely logical, even though there's only one right solution. Are you going to use that book next time or solve the test of the tusk entry puzzles? I guess we'll find out...in the next video!
No, I mean the plants did spread, as you said, but Saavedro pulled up all the ones that would make the puzzles too easy, and maybe moved their positions.
I own a pewter Squee from when the game originally came out. Makes for a nice cupboard friend

1.I didn't think of this when i first played the game, but now that i see it again and im older i was thinking that It's a little strange that even if the plants from Edanna have been on J'nanin for 20-30 years they have not spread AT ALL from where Atrus first planted them. Even the water plant the Squee jumped on has not spread across the lagoon. And we should have seen the barnacle-baloon plants on other parts of the Island.
It's hard to see in the video, but in the real game at 13:46 , note that the light shining on the Voltaic door shines rainbows even if you haven't solved that puzzle yet :P
In other news, my guess that the plants were called wallmelons was not correct. Barnacle moss it is.
Pretty sure in order to do that, it turns off all subtitles. And I know myself and quite a bit of the other viewers would rather have those on so we don't miss anything due to not hearing it.

In fact, if you mess up the elevator again, go upstairs and pull the switch the elevator will face you the wrong way so you can't get in.
That happens every now and then on J'nanin. Little clips of the main theme will play, and it used to scare the utter crap out of me!
If u take a close look at savaedro's right wrist I believe..hes wearing what looks to be a squee pelt...poor squee...

2. That is how real plants spread and it's kinda, if not game breaking, then, immersion breaking to see this logical flaw.

To be honest, I'm kind of torn about watching the rest of this. I'm currently playing through the game myself, and given that you're completing the ages in the order of Edanna, Amateria, Voltaic, and I've only completed Voltaic and am currently figuring out Edanna, I don't really want it spoiled. I guess I can watch your Voltaic playthrough...
Who is watching in 2023?
The subtitles for the sounds detract from the immersion a bit, in my opinion. Is it possible for You to turn them off? From what You said when You came upon the Whistling Rock, it seems You didn't have them on intentionally.
Is it just me or does a squee look like an albino salamander?
So you think the plants died? And Saveedro replanted them? How does that make sense? Thats the opposite of what i said :/
