My controversial opinion is that James Milner is one of the most underrated English footballers. My mates ripped me for this, but he’s played his entire career in the prem, played for two huge, quality teams in Manchester City & Liverpool, won everything possible and is a model professional. Doesn’t do anything glamours, but a model professional.
If Milner had more x-factor, he'd be a goat. But overall Millie has always been a solid team-player for every team that's had him. He may not be that glamorous, but god is he industrious
Milner for sure is underatted he was never the top midfielder in the league but he was always good enough to have enough game time in the league's best teams, also he has a huge career length at good level not many players have.
If he played most of his career a smaller team he'd shine alot more and get the praise players like ward prowse gets
I hear more people say Milner is underrated than I see people underrating him lol. I think he's properly rated his career just won't be appreciated for a few more years when the prem gets sillier with spending snd it's harder to do 10 seasons in the prem let alone 20
@@tylerlewis2766 Gareth Barry is underrated though imo.

Lampard could realistically have had an impact on the Chelsea striker curse. When he was around, he used to score a lot of goals so they didn't really need their strikers to score 30+ goals a season. After he left, his goals from midfield were not replaced.
it might have been a reason it has lasted this long but it was a thing before he was there. i also think the chelsea striker curse is stupid considering both drogba and diego costa have been quite good strikers for chelsea (obviously drogba was a lot better but he did have a few shitty seasons). Chelsea just don't know how to sign strikers that fit their systems and instead have a new striker every 2 years.
@@Name12343 drogba was 11 and costa 19
Makes a lot of sense for how internally the club views how goals come. You had an entire generation of football that was defensive minded with midfielders who could break. It's plausible to even consider that those who run the day to day and really make the mood of the club as a whole, would have set a feeling goals come from that area and strikers aren't important. I know it sounds silly, that the staff who run the club have a decision really over and owners money and the manager he believes is the key to success, but just consider if that mood exists. Big striker signings are exciting news, but why need Drogba we have Frank? Maybe that mentality just never left
@@Name12343 Drogba had as many good seasons as Costa did despite for 4/5 seasons more
@@MrVinjex bro the point of my comment is not at all to debate the chelsea careers of costa and drogba, the point is to show that they are two strikers who succeeded besides the "curse" and if u want to say that drogba isnt a good example his 37 goal season and his 33 goal season disprove that.
Henry's handball wasn't a handball since he practically fingered the ball and showed it the time of its life.

Bringing the daily mourinho news to the Irish guy
This is yet another proof of Jose's masterclass in man management.
Last Thursday roma lost the first leg of the Europa league 1-0 away. In the 1st half when it was still 0-0 The capitan and first penalty taker pelligrini stepped up to take a penalty and hit the post. This came after a few sub par performances from him. Jose showed no mercy and subbed him at half time and for 3 days he got a crazy amount of insults and threats towards him.
3 days later so last Sunday. Jose played him again and before the game he said to him " Now let's see if you're a capitan or just an arm band holder"
First half roma gets a penalty. Pelligrini steps up and jose furiously shake his hand towards him saying "No way. Too easy. Give it to Cristante" So Cristante who never takes penalties stepped up and ironically hit the post before Bove saved it by quick reflex and made it 1-0
After that pelligrini completely dominated the midfield and in the 2nd half he scored an amazing team goal. He ran to mourinho to hug him and jose shook him of joy "
Now pelligrini is full of confidence before the 2nd leg against feyenoord at home in 2 days

"Modric looks like David Guetta's mom" I fucking hate the accuracy of this
I don't like the fact that English and Spanish teams keep winning European trophies because, nowadays, it seems like "European" competitions only mean "Premier League, La Liga, other Western European teams and a couple from the rest".
That is why I'm glad that the Conference League exists, because, at least, teams from *all* of Europe compete, and they all have virtually the same chances
Wouldn't call Wallcott an arsenal legend but he's a cult hero sorta figure. Always showed up against Tottenham which was the biggest thing. Was loyal to the club and didn't cause drama at all
Yh he was unlucky that injuries tore him apart after his best season season
He's like a B-tec Shola Ameobi
100% also has 100+ goals for the club if I’m not mistaken
Okay no
He’s like Martial for Man Utd. He showed up against our derby rivals Man City which is a great thing.
Daily Potter news: Tottenham and Southhampton no longer want Graham Potter as Tottenham want to sign Enrique after he left the Spanish national team after a disapointing 2022 world cup whereas Southhamton was Potters first choice but as they are less and less likely to prevent relegation Potter is considering other options such as Leicester and West Ham, if they manage to stay up, with Leicester 19th and West Ham 15th place respectively.

I mean, peak Juan Mata was pretty damn good lmao
He got 19 goals and 35 assists in the 12/13 season. That's ridiculous. Grealish may not get that in his whole Man City career.

I love how Irish Guy tries to level his IQ with the twitter fellow on basic maths 😂

"of this decade" then goes for the centurions of 17/18, pedantic and dumb take but not knowing what decade it is isnt the best look

One of mine is that I hate how football fans act like winning trophies and/or playing with/against the best teams in the World is *all* that matters, and as such hate on competitions like Europa and Conference League, or say that "Player A is better than Player B because he won this, this and that" as if their trophy cabinet is _the only_ thing one should compare them with

I kinda have to agree with the MLS being a good league to develop young players tweet. They really started scouting & buying young players, I've seen it myself. Probably the best in North America
As a Chicago Fire fan, I agree. Not being biased but Chicago Fire is a really god club developing young players. For example last season we sold Dhuran and Slonina for £45 million total. Our next best talents is Brady, Gutierrez and Koutsias. South America and Asia (especially Japan and Korea) are also very good at producing talented players.
As an American, my local mls team is terrible for developing players. If they make 1 mistake, they won't play for 2 years.
yes with the whole pay to play system…how great
@@franze4 still doesn’t take away the fact mls is good for developing youngsters
@@MrAnt889 who’s your local team?
In my eyes Xherdan Shaqiri is one of the most underrated players of the 2010s
Certainly among those whose carriers went wayward. Lil Shaq had extreme potential, sad it was never fully manifested
@@gurururuwarararara8164 big clubs never gave him massive chances sure he won a lot of trophies but he could have played a much bigger role so I would say for him his career was a success but I feel like there would have been other clubs where his skills would have been way more known if for example Dortmund gave him a chance instead of Bayern in the early 2010 then I feel like he would have shined because there would not have been this huge unbeatable competition like at Bayern at the time
@errishafizjaha8221 yes, we saw glimmers of his max at Liverpoool, I'd only wish for him to achieve that level every game. From fifa12 and onward, I've made a point to always buy Lil Shaq
Agreed
If guardiola wanted a challenge he would coach Tottenham 😂
Now Michael knows how we feel when we watch a predictions video from him!
2:54 i'm pretty sure he meant the 2020's decade and not the 2010's
That cole palmer comment 😅
Not the Irish guy forgetting what a decade is 💀
You should do these more often your reactions are class😂
It took the irish guy only 24 seconds before mentioning mourinho
Hey, Michael,
Non-football related, but what are your thoughts on the state of Usyk vs Fury?
I’d agree with that national league shout, consider myself ok at football and I regularly play league of Ireland players in five a side, and the gap in quality is massive, faster in possession much better on the ball, fantastic accuracy in passing and shooting, and these guys are typically not starters and the only way I can keep up is with some dark arts
got to say I disagree with you on the Dortmund one, he may have done well yes but perhaps not better. Klopp has spent much less and got three record points totals with less money spent on the team and was two games away from winning the Quad. He wouldn't have won the champions league he still hasn't won one at City I reckon he might do it this seaon.
the thing is pep has had it easy his whole career while sarri hasnt
5:09 who's gonna tell him, Weetabix is already vegan
Great to see Irish guy actually loving Pep, along with Jose
Great stuff
Love that type of content actually
Excited to see that pie hit your face when Luton is mid table next season.
I NEED that 24hr live stream
I think Dalot is clear of Wan Bissaka by a mile, and my second would be Bruno should have been in the PFA TOTS let alone nominated
Nominated yes, but Odegaard has been better. And Dalot was benched for Wan Bissaka no?
@@dustinmartin6524 Yeah but Dalot was injured and that's why he got the spot from him, first couple months of the season I don't think many players on that RB were better than Dalot
Bradford City: The comparison to Game Of Thrones is apt.
Henry's handball was BLATANT!!! Stop trying to trigger an anger stroke.
Liverpool 19-20: Man City AND Liverpool, both in 2018-19 and 2021-22. In 19-20 Liverpool ruled the Prem but flopped in Europe and the Cups. In the other two years they won the Champions League and then barely missed out on a Quadruple in the second. Let alone either of Bayern's trebles, 2014-15 Barcelona, and 2013-2018 Real Madrid. Even 2013-16 Atletico Madrid could give them a run for their money.
Dallas: NO. If he'd lasted beyond Bielsa, maybe. His only service has been to help Leeds rookie year and get the Irish Man the Patty Bamford tattoo.
Even tap ins require skill. Just
Liverpool Fans: "NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA HEY JUDE!!!!" Bellingham response: "Here's the restraining order. NOW LEAVE ME BE!!!"
Agreed with TIG on Silva, he's world class but he isn't a GOAT candidate.
Modric: That man has been playing lights out for near on a decade in Madrid since Jose brought him in from Spurs. In a team where the fanbase is notoriously pampered and has booed CR7 several times when he wore white, they love the guy. What's more he's a Ballon D'or winner who just gets better with age and at age 38 is still playing week in week out at a high level. He might well be entering the GOAT conversation if he lasts another year or if Real win the Champions League in a month and a half.
Martial HAS NOT, IS NOT, and WILL NOT be world class.
Roy Keane is goonna feckin ALFE INGE HAALAND YAH!!!!
I agree with TIG on Pep without the money. He would likely work very well. But he is unproven in this scenario as yet. He would need time though. I agree that he might well have done more in Dortmund instead of Klopp. Maybe. We don't know.
Half the hate for Sterling is racist/classist. He's arguably England's best Winger for the last half decade+.
Big Fat Sam wouldn't work in Europe. He's a relegation specialist.
Ronaldo in the late aughts was a more versatile player in terms of positions and roles then Salah.
14:05 ngl this one made me laugh
I love to hear Irish guy opinions on football please do more videos on awful football opinion😂😂😂
Comparing Fletcher to Mctominay is a huge insult to Fletcher.
Lampard is kinda a reason for the striker curse... because when in Chelsea he was taking penalties and scoring goals like in striker's level... its not really his fault but when midfielder scores lots of goals it can reduce the strikers numbers and it could continue for decades
Peak Juan Mata was pretty phenomenal, so...
We need this 24 hour live steam
0:26
Grielish better than peak Juan Mata? Whoever said that, has the football intelligence of a dead squirrel in an Arsenal shirt.
Mata was closer to Kevin De Bruyne. If De Bruyne could actually win two major European trophies while being the best player of the team throughout the year. While being managed by a random Portuguese manager and a fat Spanish waiter.
Finally subscribed to the channel Irish guy
Saying Ronaldo never had a bad season in the prem is selectively forgetting his last season at manu😄. That was a disaster and a definite stain on his legacy. Manu supporters said so as much.

Given how Luton have progressed over the last 5-10 years… I would not have made that claim (not even a Luton fan)

I have a hot take as an American-Mexican person. This England squad that everyone talks about being the best is the most overrated English squad ever.
Hardly a "hot take" in that so many people believe that. This England team is on par with the Golden Generation from the 2000s. Main difference is that, at least, this current England team actually reached a final, but that's it
@@NIDELLANEUM Outside England that's pretty much everyone's opinion
@@bryso_n Exactly. I mean, every English player is treated like he's absolutely World Class. They act like England is like Brazil from the 90s, in which every role was filled by one of the best players in that role
Nah man how old are you. If like 12 then fine but if your older then how on earth are you saying those teams are equal. If you were to merge the two together as one team only 4 players from now get in. Ramsdale, James, Saka and Kane. No one else
@@mrktobi1163 No I mean equal in that they are both treated like a team of legendary players that came together and ruled over the footballing world.
I do recall how people were acting like a team with Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Terry, Rooney and others should have won more, or at least made it to the finals
Hey Dougal, what’s your opinion of Irish legend Ray Houghton?
Michael, i wanna hear your thoughts on this, because some of the things klopp has said to the press might have gotten him sacked (if he was at most of the other pl clubs) but fsg depends on him more (to pull off a miracle to save liverpool's season or in the bigger context, keep liverpool competing with a more measly transfer budget when compared to the other 'big 6' clubs) than klopp depends on fsg. Like he could literally walk away at any time and fsg would be on their knees begging him to stay, that the club and the fans need him.
*Looks at title, so when will you react to HITC Sports/Football’s ones, from when after you’ve left the channel?
Guardiola actually introduced a policy of signing players for the B team to add more competition for young players...
When Irish guy said do you really think that Raheem Sterling is Nathan Redmond 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Really Spain the same Spain team that lost Switzerland and failed to beat Paraguay in 90 mins in the 2010 wc the same Spain team that in 2014 embarrassingly lost 5-1 to Holland and failed to make it past the group stage after being played of the park by Chile. That's really better then Pele and Garincha's Brazil from 58-70.
2:56 the fact that you didn't mention barca 2015 or real 2017 is absolutely embarrassing
I watched football for so many years, but never understood how to compare midfielders, like Ozil and Modric didn't even played at the same position.
Ozil never tackled or played as a deep lying midfielder, neither he has goals to backup like Top attacking midfielders like Griezmann, Muller, KDB etc.
He is only rated because of those 3 seasons at Madrid where he provided assists to the best finisher in football.
While Modric has the longevity, he played in high intense games and still playing for Croatia While younger players like Rakitic and Mandzukic retired.
But Modric doesnt have the stats.
I know Modric is much better than Ozil but can't prove it.
Comparing Jack Grealish to peak Juan Mata is not the insult the Irish Guy thinks it is lol
Yeah it’s worse😆
Is Irish Guy that young? Juan Mata in the 2 years before joining Man Utd was a beast.

Congrats to Luton Town on finishing mid table in the prem next season.
Brandon Ayong is a channel legend and deserves to make an appearance in a video some day
Considering HITC haven’t posted in a month, and you have more views in an hour than they have in total for most of their recent videos, I kind of have to agree with ‘that’ opinion
even brady's first club saint kevins boys played against barcalona and xavi simmons.
Remember Lampard had tammy and had him firing plenty of goals! That theory is just dumb
I do agree that Spain was incredible but they cannot be 1st imo. Brazil literally won 3 world cups in 12 years with arguably the greatest player of all time
That take wqs defo exaggerated but Dallas is mad underrated, only forgotten about because he's caught Forshaw's disease and has been injured since what feels like the dawn of time
Maybe I should start using twitter as I've been a fan of yours for like 6 years? Now 😅 yet never made the comments 😂
If Jurgen Klopp got sacked, Liverpool would legit be a relegation side 💀
Ronaldo was the last person to win a Balon Dor while playing in the so called “biggest league in the world”. Ronaldo’s time in the prem under Ferguson Is basically unmatched
You speak the truth sir.
OPEN QUESTION: if Leeds go down how long before they will be back in the prem?
If the Man city team to finish second in 19-20 is so good. Then, why did Liverpool win the league with 7 games to spare? Liverpool dropped off massively after winning the league dropping 7 points in the last 7 games. They had a stretch of 36 pl games in 2019 where they only drew once and won 35 times. Can you say the same thing about City?
Luton Town do us proud

Peak Juan Mata at Chelsea was much better than Jack Grealish
My own personal hot take: Peak Eden Hazard is arguably the most dominant player the Prem has ever seen.
Key word: dominant. That man carried a struggling Chelsea team to trophies with ease
Suarez for Liverpool was much more dominant than Hazard for Chelsea. Liverpool had crap/average players like Flanagan, Johnson and Henderson starting most games.
I love it when people start their controversial opinion by saying "am I the only one who" or "you'll probably disagree with me but" and then list something that not only isn't controversial, is probably what the majority thinks

@@savirexgaming1732 too simple argument for me. It was a comparison of individials, not teams. Utd also had less competition in those days than liverpool in recent years. Liverpool came very close to winning other honours, Liverpool were also a point behind probably the best Premier league side and in three champs finals if we are comparing team honours. It would be interesting to compare their top 10 premier league goals.

Keep up the great work Irish Guy!
The fact that there are people who want Eddie Howe sacked now is mental especially when 8 months ago it was one of the most ludicrous things you could say
My take: people who judge a PL manager's quality just with 1 season is clueless about football
People said Bielsa is a great tactician, yet ended up being a sloppy goal bank in his 2nd season run
People in awe when Bruno Lage set up steel defense with wolves, yet being in relegation scramble next season
And this should apply to O'neill and Unai Emery
Marcelo Bielsa had a great reputation long before Leeds. Very much past his prime, but he's not being judged by one season.
