22 should have been Daryl Dike. Signed for West Brom on New Year's Day. Got injured in his 2rd game and miss the rest of the season. Got injured on the opening game. Miss the World Cup with the USA. And played 5 game for 3 different West Brom manager.

It's worth mentioning with regards to Dele Ali that the £40m deal was based on number of games played. As it stands, Everton haven't paid anything for him transfer wise.
One of the main reasons why he barely played is to prevent us paying the 40m. It's sad really, I was so excited (probably unreasonably so) when he joined.
I had completely forgotten that Carlos Bacca was a footballer who exists. I have not thought about him since 2018.

There is a massive rumor right now . Portugal are doing everything to get jose mourinho as a national head coach which in itself is not that surprising. But the offer they are proposing to jose and roma is an offer that if it happens it will be brand new in football history. They want jose to be Portugal head coach as a part time job with roma. Meaning jose will still stay at roma and continue the project there and at every international break he will go and manage Portugal for qualifiers and tournaments like euros and WC. This is crazy. This is stuff you only see on Fifa. And apparently roma and jose are not against the idea. Roma are actually heading to Portugal for friendly games there and the Portugal federation are planning a meeting with roma board .
If that happens it will be an insane situation to manage because during international break club managers still have a crazy amount of work to do with the board and the players that didn't get called up. I guess jose has always been very ambitious and this would definitely be his most ambitious project to date.

I agreed with all these takes until he said Chiellini- he was a stellar signing for LAFC, was in the talks for a potential “Defender of the Year” nomination, and he won MLS Cup, the Western Conference Championship, and the Supporter’s Shield. Including those three finals, he had six opportunities to win trophies, and took advantage of three. To me, Andres Iniesta played 24 games for Vissel Kobe in 2022, and had only two goals and two assists. That should be the disappointment of the year at 38 years of age.

Brewster has had injury problems with us tbf. Last season it finally clicked for him and he got injured ruled him out for the whole season. Then this season he was slowly getting fit and ready looking good off bench. Then it was time to start kicking on and he barely even ran and pulled his hamstring again. I’m not sure he will ever get over this hamstring injury

Alexander isak was injured for like half the time since he joined Newcastle and couldn't join the nation league squad in October due to his injury. He was gone for like something like 72 days which is something like 2 and half months.
Being injured and not being able to play it's not his fault he missed half the season so far. This is the longest he has been injured for.
His stats for Newcastle are good 2 goals in 3 games and a dodgy VAR decision ruling out a 3rd.
Hence why it's his worst year, he doesn't say "bad 2022 players of every age"..

Injured before World Cup started, sent home from Qatar by Luis Enrique (in spite of the injury being so minor that it was suggested he might have even been fit enough to start Spain's first game in the group stage, but worst case scenario he would have missed just one game. Replaced in the squad with a 19 year old who plays most of his games for Barcelona B in the Spanish third division. Pretty tough on him.
