Kayla: Very curious to hear your impressions 1st time you drive with the 416. Please do also let me know what clutch upgrade you chose given the massive power upgrade from your original engine. You did things the right way so she should be pretty bulletproof. Wise move also to have a "pump gas" tune. E85 is great for racing/hot weather, NOT for road tripping in the normal world 👍

Hi Kayla, Nice to see your progress. Good luck with the car and engine. Keep an eye on the differential as you may want to dig up a used ZL1 diff which is a lot beefier. You don't seem like you are prone to hammer drop a lot on the clutch so yours may last just fine. Take care kiddo and drive on.
I’ve been told the car will work it’s way through all the stock parts I still have after building it this far. I already have the GForce Axles with the SS Splines. I’m currently trying to find a nice Carbon Driveshaft- not sure what I am going to do for a built differential though but my plan is to stay true to SS!

I also use a little hand pump for gear oil. I found one that threads right on to most bottles. Work smart not hard!

As a 5th gen SS owner, this project is so cool to watch. My Camaro is over 150k miles now, so it makes me think maybe I’ll just hold onto her til the engine is toast, then rebuild it like this. How much has all of this cost if you don’t mind me asking? Did you order everything together as a kit, or just sorta go through the performance shop?
That’s not a bad plan, I would do the same! I slowly built together the parts with Gwatney Performance. They sell parts and then build customer cars on the side. I’m a marketing affiliate with them and could always help you fix together a list of parts through them! They also have kits to make it easier depending on what you need.

It would be nice if you give the torque specs as you go, like 18 lbs on the oil pan drain plug and 3/4 turn after seatment of the oiled gasket meeting the block on the oil filter. Also on my sons Zl1 Camaro I made an extra ground strap on the passenger side from the body to the block bell-housing bolt , made a lot of difference when starting. I used 00 gauge wire.
That’s a great idea too. My channel isn’t built to be a 100% build along step by step channel. Otherwise these videos would be hours long and projects would take years to finish. We did this entire build in 30 days. For more detailed Information there’s are plenty of other sources out there!

Hey Kayla how you doing I'm watching your video my God I'm so excited for you I couldn't wait till you were done putting all the fluids in and here the first start when he was starting it it wouldn't turn over so I was like give it a minute or two it'll turn over hello everything is brand new or the fluids and the gases got to run to all the lines get to the engine and all that and it made that noise and you jumped I was like oh s*** what the hell is that I'm liking suspense here I can't wait to hear the car I mean I heard it when they dynoed the engine but I can't wait to hear the whole package with the engine actually in the car with the mufflers and the x-pipe I'm not sure if you have x pipe I don't remember okay Kayla I'm waiting very patiently for the next video to hear this monster okay take care Kayla

Please confirm that this motor takes 8 quarts of motor oil!!! Ive never come across a V8 motor that takes 2 gallons of motor oil. Other than a V8 diesel in a truck..
