- Reloop has carved a name for itself in the increasingly competitive digital DJing world as a brand bridging the gap between turntables, scratch DJing and digital gear, and its new Reloop RP-8000 Mk2 turntable and Reloop Elite mixer look set to cement that reputation. Both are on display here at NAMM 2019 and DJ Angelo gives us a tour of the set-up.

Man Reloop really has a Game Changer on their hands. This Video is a really good First Look. Thanks Phil & Digital DJ Tips!!!!!!!!
Yeah looks awesome!
so they have taken an idea from Vestax which had a turntable that had a very similar function that turned the deck into a musical instrument. The Vestax decks are very rare so its good to see Reloop do their own take
Vestax Controller One.
I do miss Vestax :)
@@digitaldjtips Me too i had the pdx d3s which were rather good turntables.
I see those and other rare VEstax quite a lot in Japan. You can find them often around 100-300 usd in second hand stores.
They could’ve At least acknowledge the innovators RuckaZoid & Teeko who created the vestax C-1 .. damn
Wow! I get tingles and dilated pupils just seeing all this cool new gear! :D Digging the creative work put into these products. Thanks for covering it with Angelo, Phil! :)
No problem!
Just bought my pair today. I used Technics all my life. But these are really a game changer.
Very nice. Great work Phil!
Thanks Klaus!
two of my fav dudes. cheers guys
Thanks!
This is truly next level. A game changer even. I'm watching this closely.👀
Yeah they're pretty cool :)
Reloop is getting better and better! Definitely one of the brands that will be bigger than Pioneer one day; They have some great professional controllers with a good price-performance-ratio (such as the Mixon 4), an amazing club mixer with an incredibly low price (RMX 90), also a battle mixer now and when it comes to vinyl, Reloop is pretty much unbeatable!
Yeah they're doing a great job :)
I wanted to see the DJ Angelo performance!
DJ Angelo rocks :)
Holy hell you said it yourself, that’s some true innovation.
Yeah they look great :)
The set up of my dreams
Understandable
Next Level Stuff....
Yeah looking awesome :)
DJ TIME🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for watching :)
Nice video 👍
Cheers :)
Looks Good
Agreed!
Does the mixer has the instant double load between channels?
2 questions regarding the new 8000MK2's -1- is there going to be a straight tonearm version available at some point? -2- On another video I saw that there was a ground cable being used -is that the only option, or is there also an internal grounding option?
Not sure on the straight arm, yes it's optional
Very cool for turntablist but I like to simply mix ! I’m staying old school , mk2 1200s for me ! Now that mixer I will say looks very cool!! Let me get that !!
Nothing wrong with that! :)
Cool! Tone play built-in is cool but cycling thru 24 scales with 2 buttons is a bit awkward.
The mixer looks amazing and has a competitive price compared to the S9 or 72, I'll probably cop one.
Yeah the mixer is great value for money for sure :)
Cool..
Agreed :)
Does the bpm read real vinyl? And is it accurate?
Best turntable on the market 100%
Strong words!
Bullshit I’ll stay with my mk 5’s
Very dope
Agreed!
Digital DJ Tips love your channel too, keep up the great work 🙏🏾
Thanks :)
Digital DJ Tips You’re welcome 🙏🏾
Are these good without using Serato? I like using regular vinyl. No laptops.
Yes, but you'd be better off with the RP-7000 Mk2's (as you don't need the Serato bits and pieces).
Hmmmm, why no straight (non skip) tonearm for scratch djs? Is the S tonearm suddenly better than a straight one for scratch djs?
Or is Reloop going to be releasing a straight tonearm version of the RP8000mk2 at a future date?
No explanation as yet so what gives?
A straight version would be nice, we've not heard anything though :)
I want one of those mixers
They look awesome :)
How much is the whole set up? And when is it coming all to buy?
Check the Reloop site for up to date pricing info :)
Does the RP8000mkII platter send MIDI over USB?
No, unfortunately it doesn't. How cool would that be? Of course things like the Rane Twelve do.
Does this model mk2 reads bpm only from serato vinyl or reads bpm from regular vinyl as well ?
It only works when you have Serato plugged in.
From memory no, Serato just goes into "Thru" mode.
So can you trigger cue points from the turntable??! 🤔
Yep!
Are these internally grounded?
Yes
I cannot remember the model name but Vestax brought out a Vinyl deck that could change the key, years ago.
*Vestax Controller One.
Yeah it's a shame Vestax aren't around anymore :)
Digital DJ Tips I have the Vestax PDX-3000mk2 which doesn’t have the buttons on the unit (like Controller One) but has “midi mode” which allows you to plug in a midi keyboard (DIN) and control the pitch. It’s barely talked about though, everyone just references the Controller One when making the comparisons to the new Reloop 8000mk2. Btw, I am so glad Reloop is pushing turntablism tech forward - they’re filling the hole that Vestax left 👍
Digital DJ Tips RuckaZoid & Teeko are the innovators for this style of turntable.. they are still around and reloop should’ve hit them up ..
Did Vestax not have a deck with tone play like that about 20 years ago?.
Yes but obviously no where near as well executed or modern as this
@@digitaldjtips it does look really smart. It would be great if it was compatible with traktor.
Have you ever heard about the effin CONTROLLER ONE from the almighty VESTAX??? A turntable like this has been already on the market since 2005!!!
Elpidio Granatello but hard to get and very expensive.
RuckaZoid & Teeko created that beautiful turntable ..
And I could buy 2 of the reloop for the price of one boring 1200.
Very true :)
any table can be made exciting with the right person on it....hahaha
Wish they would have added key lock (would use it for vinyl records). It would have made this the ultimate turntable.
Yeah it's looking very good :)
Isn't this just Serato PitchPlay?
I'm sure Vestax did a turntable that did a similar thing years ago.
Vestax did you're right, this is much more refined that anything that has come before it
the idea is from vestax pdx
Yeah with a modern execution
take my money
'
Lol :)
Can I connect this turntables whit recordbox? Can I use tpods for recordbox??
Hey, Reloop gear is best used with Serato :) What do you mean by tpods?
They left out the pioneer triggers like the ms9
I really don't know how to feel about this. For the price, you're getting a whole lot. But, it's overkill for me. I
would rather have the Reloop 7000 mk2s. Still, I would pick this over the Technics 1200 mk7s.
Yeah most DJs are not going to use this to it's full advantage for sure
"Never been done before"?
Vestax Controller 1...
Fair point :)
@@digitaldjtips The led back lit sample pads on the turntable are nice though!
Should have just given the nod to the Controller One, said it's not available anymore, tell people what this adds (if anything) and moved on.
Thanks for the feedback :)
Using the turntables as musical instruments is not new. A professor at Berkley introduced it more than 10 years ago. There is a book about it.
Not new, no, but as others have indicated, even the Vestax Controller One was very limited in production: djworx.com/how-many-vestax-qfo-controller-one/ (oh, and Vestax went out of business, so you can only buy them on the aftermarket at prices that reflect their rarity)
No that's true, still not many companies around doing stuff like this!
Technics are way behind reloop at the moment
Damn this dude holding the mic bashed Technics... check reloops payroll...
Lol nope, we're not affiliated with any company - we don't even run ads anymore!
What does it matter. If your really mixing Sings on Serati is one thing. If your just flipping switching switches. It's a waste of a good turntable.
You know who pushes buttons producers lmfao
DJ Angelo isn't a producer and he is a very accomplished DJ, the turntablist scene is embracing innovation at every turn it seems :)
This mixer is a worse copy of Pioneer ...
To be fair nobody has has enough time hands on to say it's "worse"
I have a 62 and was looking to get the S9, but its has a bit too much plastic construction for my taste. Use whatever suits you. In the end its all about skills, not gear.
