- In the inter-war period the railway companies were fierce rivals for traffic between major
centres, but when it came to the many secondary services that crossed different company
territories, cooperation rather than competition was mutually beneficial. This led to the
development of quite varied workings that saw engines and especially coaches of different
companies working routinely onto ‘foreign’ lines.
This channel needs to be blown up more. I love how informative and pleasant the narration is
Many thanks for your comment. We are really pleased that you are enjoying our videos.
I lived in the Wirral 1950s and 60s, main engines were 2-6-2s both passenger and coal to Bromborough Power Station. Birkenhead, Parkside, Rock Ferry, Bebington, Port Sunlight ( Lever Bros ) Spital, Bromborough to Ellemere Port or Chester for connection to North Wales and Crewe.
@sailingschooners8668, thank you for sharing that info, hopefully our Vale and Dartmoor scenes dating further back help bring back some happy memories.
Thank you so much, I had never considered a train would be in a construct like this
Thank you for watching and for commenting, we hope you are enjoying our series of videos.
It’s actually quite nice to know that it’s not so unrealistic to have trains made up of all different railway company stock!
Very true. We hope you enjoyed the video and look forward to sharing more with you in 2023.
This reminds me of exhibition layouts in the 70s. It was rare to see any at this standard, I just mean the old school charm of kit-built stock, and most layouts were GWR back then.
And just think, the Pendon Diorama build began in the early 1970’s and still continues today. Thank you for watching and we hope you will stay tuned….
Wonderful!
Thank you Michael. We are really pleased you enjoyed it. Do sign up to see some of our unpublished gems that won’t appear on CZcams. www.pendonmuseum.com/youtube
Thanks for subscribing to my channel. As a n
museum I am sure you have a wealth of information which I shall make an effort to explore.Cheers
We in turn really hope you can enjoy what we have to offer online and in the museum itself. It’s certainly a treasure trove to be explored.
lovely loco, what make of kit is it? or is it scratchbuilt
Really glad you like it Jacob. It is scratch built. Pendon has so many unique pieces of rolling stock, houses and scenery, all handmade over many years to create the unique Dioramas that make the museum such a special place to visit in person or online. We hope you enjoy everything we have to offer.
It's probably a Martin Finney kit, now available from Brassmasters
