Absolutely beautiful. He’s been working his butt if for the Tchaikovsky competition, and coming back to the state etudes is SO easy now. Incredible playing, even better than last year. The tiny little accelerandos and slow downs are so subtle and tasteful, I just love it.

This was one of the etudes my senior year in 2004. Looks like they'll never stop using the Voxman.
Jeremy Quiros | I live in a different state and don’t even play trombone, but the Voxman is still being used.
They won't. It's too easy
Same lol
Dude I’ll do you one better. I played this one in 1995 :)
2021 is all Voxman lol

Have we got an etude for you!
This is so helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to do record this.
Seeing him goof around makes me miss playing trombone 😂
Also I now have a massive crush on him.
Last year I was afraid of this piece, but after learning the region music I feel that I’m a better player. I miss practicing with my friends trying to get better. Half of my friends quit band this year. I miss 2019 so much.
What a beautiful tone.
0:38 the first notes sound just like Mahler 1 first movement 😂
Different articulation, but yeah.
Love his b naturals , so in tune.
You never cease to amaze me
Hey man, I've seen you comment on a couple other trombone related videos so I thought I'd say hi!
@@danielh6582 hello, nice to see another trombone player lol
@@BassboneNelson we must have a very similar taste in music because I've seen you on other trombone videos but by completely different channels. For example I can remember Toby Oft, Joe Alessi, and obviously this video
@@danielh6582 I mean I love those trombonist 😂😂 they're amazing. So why not?? The more trombone the better
@@BassboneNelson I agree!
Bravo!
that is really nice playing.
Hermoso!
Yes! Blazhevich! In Russia we think that if you can play all 100s etude by Blazhevich - you can play everything!!!! It's reeealy hard but interesting!
Clean asf
Trombone master race
even sounds amazing on laptop speakers!
Cool
I wasnt expecting his voice
Saurav Bastola yea he did lmaoo 😭
who else found this comment because it made it into the video?
@@lightning2187 i did?
Steven Esparza yea in the 2020-2021 trombone video you made it in
@@lightning2187 I didnt even know lmao😂😂
I didn't know that one of the original creators of DOOM is also a trombonist
Elias Ukkonen Widding, yeah. John’s a busy man.
He makes all-state etudes his bitch
Common mistake! Although I did try to program the original Doom engine into my TI 89 back in the day. Maybe we're related?
Great! I make similar videos for AZ all State (tuba-euph). I've been trying to figure out how to display the music as I play. What software do you use for that or how is that accomplished? Thanks.
The first half was my middle school all region music
Love it! Trombone and funny!
Magnifique 👍.
À ce jour il y a 16 abrutis qui ont voté le pousse en bas j'aimerai les entendre jouer l'étude...
The real G’s are waiting for the Euphonium videos
this is an okmea euph video so im not complaining
This was still pretty G tho
Im an 8th grader and i play tromebone
3:42 wait I think I know that piece
Yeah it's the etude for this year
Guys, where do I get the score that goes on in the video?
Lucio Kleber Araujo Fernandes audition lol
God I’m so lucky that the Washington etudes are way easier
Ben Fleishman I’ve seen a lot of people say this, but personally I love the harder ones. It gives you way more material to use to sound diverse and unique from everyone else. That is, if you’re willing to put the work in
These etudes aren’t hard, just practice as usual, plus you can go a bit slower on this one and the 3rd.
What’s the best way to work on the low D in measure 24 with a good tone, I always play something lower than it
don't go in fourth position and try to compensate for pitch there, the f attachment has a tendency to go sharp so adjust your slide, not embouchure. Low D should be between 4th and 5th somewhere, where exactly depends on the player.
bad thank you! I’ll try this
@@shtupidmate what position can you play it in if you dont have an f attachment? I have to audition with my marching horn which is just a straight tenor trombone. I cant figure out how to play that note at all😂
Jordan #00 sadly, you cannot hit the note ‘cleanly’ to say. You can lip bend down to it though, but it is much harder to hit, even more with good tone
Jordan #00 I would say the same thing as comic master, because I personally have never played w/o it, but without I’d say a slight flat 4,5 and if really needed, 6. Someone in my band has one and has to do that, he goes to 6 just because his tuning could use a bit more. Best I could say
Very nice:) Thank you so much :)
That trombone modek you use? Thanks for answer.
He is playing on a brand new S.E Shires Twin-Valve!
Woody Rehaag two valves on a tenor? I was so confused when I saw it. What’s the purpose of the second valve?
@@forceknt31 The two valves are both part of the same F-Attachment system! IIRC, It was designed to eliminate as many sharp bends as possible in the valve core to help create the most open airflow as possible in such a small valve, and to help lighten the weight of the cores. I would highly recommend visiting the Shires factory or a Shires dealer to try it out!
Cameron Strine || similar to having a axial flow valve but less maintenance
Can u play page 22 trombone blazhevich d flat major
Jay Dad he has look at the past videos
Is there gonna be any Bass Trombone?
Zeelegend man I wish Houston horns had like every brass instrument at least cuz they’re so amazing
Any one got a pdf?
Please describe Japanese translation!!
This year I think the atssb is harder

PTSD
not gonna lie, this song just sounds like a bunch of advanced warm up routines.
This is etude. Not song!
You are... allowed to break eye contact 😂 but beautiful tone
Had no idea! I'll have to practice my blinking... 😳
What trombone is he using?
Tenor trombone. Great for reaching higher 4-5 ledger line notes.
I mean brand
I'm using a Shires large bore tenor with a twin valve, TII7YLW Bell with detachable flare, and a TW47LW slide.

I don’t get it, my sound always sounds airy
Use warm air and try not to close your mouth so much
Elephant Seal I know, I do that, it’s less airy, but I can’t help but feel that it’s still a bit airy,
Alguém teria esta partitura para disponibilizar?
Fuck, can’t play the last note on mine.
