    Absolutely beautiful. He’s been working his butt if for the Tchaikovsky competition, and coming back to the state etudes is SO easy now. Incredible playing, even better than last year. The tiny little accelerandos and slow downs are so subtle and tasteful, I just love it.

    • @andrewbraun7434
      @andrewbraun7434 Před 4 lety +1

      Ben Fleishman I’ve seen a lot of people say this, but personally I love the harder ones. It gives you way more material to use to sound diverse and unique from everyone else. That is, if you’re willing to put the work in

    • @badword3013
      @badword3013 Před 4 lety

      These etudes aren’t hard, just practice as usual, plus you can go a bit slower on this one and the 3rd.

    What’s the best way to work on the low D in measure 24 with a good tone, I always play something lower than it

    • @shtupidmate
      @shtupidmate Před 4 lety +1

      don't go in fourth position and try to compensate for pitch there, the f attachment has a tendency to go sharp so adjust your slide, not embouchure. Low D should be between 4th and 5th somewhere, where exactly depends on the player.

    • @andrewbraun7434
      @andrewbraun7434 Před 4 lety +2

      Jordan #00 sadly, you cannot hit the note ‘cleanly’ to say. You can lip bend down to it though, but it is much harder to hit, even more with good tone

    • @badword3013
      @badword3013 Před 4 lety +1

      Jordan #00 I would say the same thing as comic master, because I personally have never played w/o it, but without I’d say a slight flat 4,5 and if really needed, 6. Someone in my band has one and has to do that, he goes to 6 just because his tuning could use a bit more. Best I could say

      Woody Rehaag two valves on a tenor? I was so confused when I saw it. What’s the purpose of the second valve?

    • @Octon3
      @Octon3 Před 4 lety

      @@forceknt31 The two valves are both part of the same F-Attachment system! IIRC, It was designed to eliminate as many sharp bends as possible in the valve core to help create the most open airflow as possible in such a small valve, and to help lighten the weight of the cores. I would highly recommend visiting the Shires factory or a Shires dealer to try it out!
