It was either a mistake which happens an they are just ignoring (bit like Ronda Becky thing) or they will use it in a storyline for a Randy Cody feud
He could have just been hurt, and they counted it to end the match. Keeping his left shoulder off the mat would have made it harder for the Ring General to grab his hurt left leg... Idk. It looked like crap tho. Hope Randy's OK 👍

Valkyries are the choosers of the slain in Norse religion. They are directly in the service of Odin, the king of the gods. Odin is also the one who grants victory and good fortune in war (norse deities tend to have many, many roles, and Odin is certainly a standout example, being the god of the death ... though not the god of THE dead, which would be Hel ... god of magic, god of victory and fortune in war, god of rulership and half a dozen other things). When a battle is then over, Odin supposedly sends the Valkyries to survey the battlefield and once there, they will choose those dead warriors who were brave enough to be rewarded in death. Half of those chosen in this manner then go to Odin's great hall at Valhalla, where they'll feast and drink every evening, while they'll fight to the death again every day to keep their skills sharp. Those who fall in such a manner during the day, fighting this eternal fight in the afterlife, rise from the dead in the evening to join their comrades in feasting again, and then they try again the following day. The other half, funnily enough, of those so chosen by the Valkyries, go to Folkvangr, which is the great hall of Freja ... who is commonly thought of today only as the goddess of love and s*x, though in reality, she is much more than that (as I explained earlier, the norse gods have lots of different jobs to take care of, and Freja is ALSO a war-deity). In fairness, Freja is more like a deity of big emotions.
The Valkyries are also seen as fearsome fighters in their own right, and some of the foremost defenders of the realm of the gods.
But their primary role is to pick out those who die in battle and who were brave enough to go have fun with their mates in the hereafter.
Oh, and for the reason, multiple archaelogical finds have been made of small figurines thought to be of valkyries. They seem to have been worn as amulets in much the same way as thorshammer-pendants around people's neck. They are of small, clearly female figures who are armed and sometimes armoured. NOT IN A SINGLE, SOLITARY depiction of them are they winged or are they able to fly. That is entirely a modern misconception, taken up by various video-games, cartoons and the likes.
Most of what we know about them comes from the sagas and the holy scripture, called the Edda. A single, Swedish runestone mention them, however, and on that runestone, they are alleged to be riding wolves.
