On stage at Wolf Trap (1990). This concert shows the "Classic Canadian Brass." Becoming knownas "the Fab Five" in the 90's, this group concertized together for an unprecedented two thousand performances! At Wolf Trap, they create an astounding musical event spotlighting Metropolitan Opera star Judith Blegen as quest. - Hudba
Remember kids, if you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly
*just don't forget that this technique only works on instruments that are worth atleast 1.5 million dollars*
Two set violin references are amazing
Vov Dylan has nothing in this Tubist.
LING LING 40 HOURS
you should be practising
only kool people would get this reference
It’s nice to have a friend reach in and give you a hand when you’re blowing as fast as you can.
took that out of context
funny
You pervs
That's called a reach around in my book. Lol
You know..see…. I-
Nvm
Asian dad: “now do it on trombone.”
czcams.com/video/kGgUK2s-sqA/video.html
😂on god
imagine that with a asian accent
Asian dad: great warm up, now onto contrabass sax
"Mediocre. Now sing it. Backwards."
The Canadian Brass is insanely good. I use the word insanely because playing the "Flight of the Bumblebee" in less than a minute while clowning around is clearly insane. "Good" doesn't begin to describe how well they play it.
I've never seen anyone double team a tuba before. See, I told you they were insanely good.
I have a vision of "double-teaming" the tuba on the marching field, which my favorite tuba player might appreciate, lol.
As a tuba player I must praise chuck he is a tuba god
Baadsvik is better
+tiago feitor So is gene pokorny
I'd say they're all amazing to be honest.
Enrique Arreola Chuck? Øystien Baadsvik bro! Search Czardas.
Enrique Arreola I'm a tuba player to and I'm amazed
Chuck has been in Canadian Brass for 45 years now, a true tuba player.
BeastModeCraft You a tuba player?
Zyther Trumpet and euphonium.
BeastModeCraft ah! Euphonium! The most beautiful sounding instrument and the most underrated instrument.
Taking a break I play Euphonium
+FreezingGamer haha never knew about it until I was in 5th grade
Wow, had no idea musical speedrunning was a thing
lol, perfect analogy though!

More like "Flight of the Rotund Mosquito"
how can you say that?
I'm a little sick, & i got a bit of what sounds like a smokers laugh & so i spend 3 minutes coughing/laughing so caughing? at this comment.
@@GIITW.5OKC coronavirus??
If you don’t know how hard it is to play short on a tuba it’s hard to give this guy the respect he deserves
Dear lord, It's 2019, and these guys are still around...I first saw them on PBS in the 1970's. 🤔 The Rolling Stones have been around longer...daym I'm old.
*Sticky valves are a thing of the past...*
I used to listen to classical music doing intercity delivery work. I was listening to "Flight Of The Bumblebee" and nearly rolled the truck and trailer trying to unintentionally keep in time with the music ... it was military marches after that day.
I laughed too hard at this.
I can tell they've had the flutist/flautist discussion with Sir James "I don't play a flaut, do I?" Galway.
James Galway is certainly wonderful. I especially like him in cahoots with Phil Coulter, as in the beautiful theme album, "Winter's Crossing", a lovingly-told tale of Irish immigrants leaving and crossing over to "Americay".
thats insanely hard to do, especially on the tuba
its a euphonium
CubeTube No it isn’t, i think
JustGoat i play euphonium. That's a tuba.
@@maxwellulous820 i play euphonium as well
thats insanely hard to o on ANY instrument..period.
If you thought it wasn't fast enough, play it at 2.0
Thanks for the tip
Good God it sounds like the teacher from Charlie Brown.
this is one of THE best Zarathustras i’ve ever heard. just the right speed, so clear and beautifully played. :). but, the Bumblebee was so fast, i could hardly really hear it. it’s hilarious though :} 🎺
KNEEL BEFORE YOUR ONLY TRUE TUBA GOD
Mo
ALL HAIL CHUCK!!
Yes
Oh no blue mr. popo
A true tubador
35 seconds
I see this man gets his 40 hours everyday
Before Ling Ling, there was Chuck Chuck
I have seen them in concert (Toronto et environs) fairly often, and few acts anywhere match them for polished and absorbing entertainment. Their shows have no "low spots", but bristle with variety, humor, interest - and, of course, musical virtuosity. Moreover, they have an enviable and natural ability to engage the audience.
I love you! Canadian Brass! You are wonderful to watch. and to listen to, and you inspire me to keep practicing my Miraphone Bb tuba I have had for 50 years now, and have played, after a long hyatus of working for a living, after being retired 5 years ago, to bring out my old beloved tuba and so have played with the local Oroville Community Concert Band. Such an amazing thing! this music is! that is available to all of us! I love you- Canadian Brass!
The Blight of the Fumble Bee.
imagine if he forgot valve oil
that'd be great
oof
Lmfao
His tuba would catch fire.
They'll get stuck, I hated when that happened when I would play my trumpet
He'd dislocate a finger!
I miss the old Canadian Brass
Godooable Chuck is the only original left as of 2019 but they are all insanely good. Electronic media is OK but there is nothing like a live performance of The Canadian Brass. Go to see them whenever possible.
I saw them in concert and I love Canadian brass. I've got some CDs of their music too, just whipped out a Christmas cd!
Who else would do "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies" on low brass? Who else would have IMAGINED it? Who would have thought it would sound so DELIGHTFUL!
@@TampaDave dude, 100% agree. Nothing can make me groove quite like this group. It's been years since I saw them live and I still love their music!!
Get him on Call of Duty and with a five seven.
No kidding lol
Lmao 😂😂😂
that made my day
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
LOL
Is so good to hear people have fun with music! I love it. ❤
Gotta love some of the music you stumble across on CZcams! This was worth the watch and listen. 😀
Very good if he did play it in just one breath! 😉 👍
This guy would beat the devil in a tuba battle for sure!
Play it at 0.5 times speed and you'll see they're playing it almost all correctly
Aw man, you just gotta love musicians.
Oh this is phenomenal! Well done good sir Chuck 👏👏
This reminds me of the tuba player in a group called Youngblood Brass Band. He's phenomenal, too!
And they said tubas can't play fast. HAH
Litterally noone has said that
DEVIN MONTILEONE pls dear lord tell me you are joking
I thought it said flight of the Bumblebee Tuna.
Hey there's a tuna brand called bumblebee
Flight of the TubaBee
Richard Feinman I did too
What!?
Love ace ventura lol
I play tuba🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 GO TUBA PLAYERS
Incredible, *BRAVO.*
That was awesome!!
In high school, I took band for my art credit and chose the trombone because I knew they did less work overall. What I didn't know is that everyone had to play flight of the bumblebee at the same speed for our final. And that's how I almost failed band.
That's funny as hell. Thank you. Love it.
Do you think he could play it even faster if he was using a rotary value tuba instead of piston valves?
No, it takes less time to press down but opening and closing the valves takes longer, with piston valves it goes as fast as your fingers do.
i had a vinyl of them and they were wearing shutter shades on the cover
Austin Whitecotton, Perfect.
In the fanfare, I instantly thought of the Hetalia Axis Powers opening XD
Theses boys are excellent...Maybe you can do Hoyt Curtin...(Johnny Quest) you are fabulous.
If you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly
Awesome! Bravo!
The Blight Of The Fumble Bee.
Zarathustra Fanfare by Strauss. We have that full piece separately as well.
Most non-Zoroastrian boomers recognize it as a "Discovery" theme in Kubrick's movie on Clarke's book, 2001: A Space Odyssey, of course.
These guys are phenomenal! I have wanted to see them my entire life, but have not had the opportunity. My loss. :(
This is the Brass I grew up to, and wanted to be like.
Now imagine having a contra and having a set in a marching band show feature a contra playing this... thatd be interesting
That was amazing 33.22 seconds WOW!!!!!!
Nicely done..... Very nicely done.......
These guys are awesome
I like how the trumpet is like "Here let me help you with that."
I want to see concerts like this!
Amazing!
This is my 29th video that i watched on youtube
SUPER! FANTASTIC! UNBELIEVABLE!
JUST LIKE A REAL BUMBLEBEE.
That was remarkable!
OUTSTANDING!
I saw these gentlemen live. One of the best live shows I ever attended aside from Mr. Dressup.
If I could be a quarter as good I'd be happy. Such an amazing tubist.
the beginning is Also sprach Zarathurstra.
The Bum of Flightel Bee, by Rip His Corsets Off, as it was once introduced on BBC Radio 3.
Awesome!! They will be in Charlotte, NC April 20th, 2012 at the Halton Theater
Probably can play it faster on rotary valves
+Cardenal Collins Not necessarily.
Samuel Barker I was saying that because pushing them down takes less time.
+Cardenal Collins yes you do make a very good point there. but in my personal experience rotary's take longer to open the valve fully as compared to a piston valve. Thus a fuller sound and clearer pitches which is a challenge for that piece played fast
Samuel Barker True
They play fast
Cleanest group in the world
Now in my day (the 1950s) I was considered a good Tuba player. I was good enough that DeLaSalle Catholic High School not only invented a 100% music scholarship to get me but also included a 50% scholarship for my brother. But comparing me to this guy is like comparing an alter boy to the Pope. He is my hero ! !
If u can play it slowly you can play quickly.
Heck they are sacrilegious bois tho
Just a trumpet and trombone player wishing they could play that fast... One day
That was fun...!
Very Good!!!!!👏👏
That was sooo epic! I frkn wish I was that cool!! ....-_-
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!
MY TUBA BRETHREN, WE MUST RISE ABOVE THEM ALL!!
Speedrunning before speedrunning. It's even something people "play."
BRAVO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Met them back stage in Birmingham. Knew Chuck's sister and Daniel had an autograph from the Horn Player
Audience has no idea what it means to play that tune that fast
2:05 ... for Flight of the Tuba Bumblebee start.
Why do people care just to hear that part. It's not like it's a three hour thing. That's silly.
The trombone just staying in 7th position the whole time
I can never hear that "fanfare" without immediately thinking of the ring entrance of Ric Flair! Hahahaha
You guys are great, shoot for 30 seconds!!!!!!
Wow! Four out of the five original guys.
Mother of pearl
Full-wood panel, what a lovely concert hall, or church!?
32 seconds
at what point will the tuba explode due to excessive air pressure?
If you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly
#15notesasecond
33 seconds, that’s amazing
Not counting the odd note missed in passing here or there, lol. Kinda reminiscent of Mairsey Doats and Doesie Doats, and little Lambsey Tivey, to me, at least.
Proud to be Canadian (:
dont even play tuba
but it still made me shit myself
That's some pretty quality shit man.
When I was in grade school I played the violin. My dad told me if I could play "Flight of the Bumblebee" I could quit the violin. Unfortunately my lack of talent ended my career before that...hehehe
These sacrilegious bois
Try listening at 1/4 speed. Pretty hilarious sounding
Mr. Steal your girl 😂🤷🏻♀️
Remember, if you can play it slowly....
wait my piano is over there
Most impressive.
Does that actually count when two people play the same tuba? Too funny for words.
Chuck seems so happy in this video
I smell Carolina crown 2014
EpicMeh it was 2013 but yeah
Kayla Forsythe Argh I keep getting them mixed up.
It's the pants.
blue devils 2017 now too
