    Game: Castlevania Bloodlines
    System: Sega Genesis
    Version: (US)
This is the longplay of the game Castlevania Bloodlines, an action and platform game released in March 1994 with only a short interval between each region: March 17th in North America, 18th in Japan (with the name Vampire Killer) and 20 in Europe (where it was titled Castlevania: The New Generation). This game was released exclusively for the Mega Drive/Sega Genesis.
To tell the story of the game, we go to the 19th century, when the largest nations in Europe made great efforts to maintain a balance of power across the continent. The inhabitants felt that a war would break out sooner or later, the countries formed various alliances, which in turn opened up feelings of distrust against each other (yes, this was at the time of the First World War). The game's plot takes place in 1914, when a sorceress named Drolta Tzuentes resurrects Elizabeth Bartley, a countess known as "Dracula's niece", who decides to bring Count Dracula back to life. To do this, she kills the crown prince of Austria, so that the many souls sacrificed in the war would be available for her evil purpose. To prevent the forces of evil from triumphing, two men emerge: the American John Morris and the Spaniard Eric Lecarde, who will fight to combat the threat. The duo of heroes must invade the ruins of Count Dracula's Castle to once again put an end to his reign of terror. However, they don't find him there and will need to travel to several European countries to prevent Dracula's resurrection.
In the game we can choose between John Morris and Eric Lecarde, each with a different gameplay. Morris uses the Vampire Killer as a weapon, the whip that passed down through several generations of the Belmont family and Eric Lecarde uses the Alucard Spear (erroneously transliterated as "Alcarde Spear"), a powerful spear. Morris can use the whip to hang from the ceiling of the levels, while Lecarde can bend down and carry a high jump to reach high places. Main weapons can be evolved through 4 levels. The game also has secondary weapons (axe, boomerang and holy water), which can be used equally by both characters, as well as a powerful attack that hits the entire screen and replaces the secondary weapon until the player suffers damage. The candle breaking scheme exists here too, but instead of hearts, the player receives red and blue jewels (rare, worth 5 red jewels).
Although the stages are the same for each character, some passages can only be accessed by a specific hero. Once the character is chosen, the player needs to go to the end of the game with him. Each character has a different ending.
It's an excellent game and very well produced. It is the only game in the Castlevania series to be released for the Sega Genesis. The video was recorded on Expert difficulty, with both characters.
    Hope you like it!

Time to bust some monsters. Everytime I played this, I selected Eric for his spear and high jump. Wasn't much of a whip fan.
Anyway, thank u for the upload. Any plans for the other Castlevania games ? Like the ones in DS ?

    One of my favorites
    and still play it via
    Emulator on Expert Mode
    where you had to input
The Secret Code to unlock it.
Unfortunately I never played it from
    my childhood back then,
    but finally did somewhere
    back 2013 and liked it!

Both the SNES and PC Engine Castlevania games are just leagues prettier, but this game is doing some pretty cool graphical tricks at times. Still, I would have been very interested to find out what a SNES version could have looked and sounded like. I think the same game with proper SNES' visuals and audio could have blown this out the water. Similarly, I wish the SNES port of Rondo of Blood was just the PC Engine version but even nicer looking and sounding rather than the kinda fugly meh version it got there imo. What ifs though, eh. Thankfully, Castlevania IV looks great, sounds great, and plays great, and is probably my overall favourite of the 16-bit versions, so all is good on the SNES front.
Edit: I've actually been analysing this game for a while and thinking about how it could be done on SNES, and I reckon that the SNES could do basically everything you see in this game but with a proper overlapping HUD, more colours in most places, an additional background layer or two in many stages, proper transparency effects in the areas where the the Genesis version uses dithering, and most of the sprite stuff pretty much the same with a little tweaking to work best on SNES. Overall, other the than smaller horizontal view that you just can't overcome on SNES, I think a SNES version of this game could be pretty great. :)
Now I just need someone to try porting it or even doing some tests to demonstrate this!

you almost can`t go wrong with most of the caslevania stuff but this game was just way too difficult for me, so i just prefere to watch other people playing it..properly 😂🙏
