Kid Creole and the coconuts! The greatest live show of the '80's. High energy, brilliant lyrics, killer arrangements, one of a kind choreography and the FUNK! They shoulda been one of the biggest acts of the era. ah well. lots of terrific stuff on youtube though. "you should of been there"
This is the best line up of this immensely talented band. The three Coconuts are white hot. and August Darnell and Coati Mundi are great show men. A real joy to watch this clip.
What year/venue was this? I saw him a couple of times in Mtl in the mid 80s, & I don't think this is either of 'em...once was at The Spectrum, once outdoors in Jarry Parc at the Millerfest (after James Brown had had the plug pulled on him for going overtime!)
This is their second appearance at the Spectrum. I was at Jarry Park too. KC&C opening, then James Brown phoning in 45 minutes and Robert Charlebois as the headliner. Programmers must have been on drugs. The wrong kind. JB opens for no one! And Ray Condo played the beer tent.
Yeah, Ray Condo & his Hardrock Goners were my ticket in to the Millerfest! I was writing a feature on them for the Mirror... Was this KC&C show the one that Condition opened for?
What a trip they were! Nothing else like this group, and I think the original Coconuts were the best. Incredible choreography!

I know it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Jermaine Reece Try FlixZone. You can find it by googling =)
@Gannon Jedidiah yea, I've been using flixzone for years myself :D
@Gannon Jedidiah thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it !!
@Jermaine Reece You are welcome xD
I was first hooked on their music when they were Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band with Cory Daye as lead singer.
Great live performance of a big hit in the UK ! Cheers for upload
Whoa! What a showman! He is the quintessence of cool. Long may he reign.
as a great music band o lord no , a act that can fill a stag and make you forget the pains of life for a night . :)
Those dance moves w r really funny.
Agree with comment below...the original band with no imposters was always by far the best. The REAL Coconuts rocked.
Get hooked on the beat, the horns, and the Cocos
That's my kind of funk!

You are expecting me to have crystal clear memory of 85 and before?
Not sure if Condition was on the bill but REM was one of the openers at this show.

La jolie bassiste...qu'est-elle devenue ..???

Yeah I like them but always thought he was a Morris Day clone
Corey Pierson Maybe the look but certainly not the sound.
He was Morris Day, before Morris was, Morris Day.
