When it's done you can end the game or continue to just get more points or combos (when new line of 5 crosses the old one or yoi create multiple lines in 1 move). It's actually very fun

I think this isn't possible because at the end of a classic sodoku, the amount of each number is the same, so you can't fill a square in the big puzzle with the number that appears the most in the small puzzle.
I used to play a modified version of 3d Xs and Os where all 4 grids were laid out next to each other in a square pattern. Then, play would resume like normal. You could get 3 in a row using any 3 of the 4 grids, but only if they were adjacent to each other in yhe square
