You know, the song to me is meant to be empowering and I think Lucas did a great job carrying over the empowering strength in his own way. This version is more upbeat but the music is very powerful and the background singers make it seem much more empowering. Even though Michael Bolton could achieve that without backround singers. Lucas Grabeel did a great job with this! I still feel that empowering emotion out of the faster tempo and background singers just like in the original. Great rendition

A friend showed me Lucas's version of this song a few years ago and I loved it and for some crazy reason I just stopped listening to it and forgot about it until now. It's crazy how after all these years I still feel the same strong emotional connection to this song! I still don't know where I'm heading, I still haven't found that heroes welcome waiting in his arms, but I guess that is beauty of life, not knowing where the journey is going to take you.
