- written & produced by Sonic Youth | from the album Sister (1987) | video post-production by sonicboy19 | lyrics:
There's something in the air here
Makes you go insane
Brings you back to me
It's been so long
All's I have to do is live along
It's coming, coming down over me
Do you want to see the explosions in my eye?
Do you want to see
The reflection of how it used to be
Beauty lies in the eyes of another's dream
Beauty lies lost in another's dream
It's coming, coming down over me
Do you want to see the explosions in my eye?
Do you want to see
The reflection of how it used to be
Hey baby
Hey sweetheart
Hey fox, come here
Hey beautiful
Come here sugar - Hudba
One of the most underrated Sonic Youth songs imo
my heart and soul is taken from this song
I love this album.

This video is extremely cool! How do you make such cinematic looking videos such as this one? I used to edit but I can't really seem to understand how to make stuff like this!
Hey, thanks! For this video it was just a lot of experimenting with different filters and then blending together several different filtered takes. Also had to manipulate the speed throughout to sync her performance with the album version of the track. It took quite a while to make it, mainly because I was just fooling around trying to find things that would make the video footage more interesting to watch. The original is just old camcorder footage of one of their gigs in the 80's, videotaped from a balcony. Not the greatest quality, so wanted to do something that would mask the poor quality and make it look more like abstract film. I was inspired by watching Kevin Kerslake's original video for the song which uses a lot of filters and blending as well, so my initial thought was to try to apply similar techniques to live footage. But as these things usually go (well, for me at least), it evolved into something a bit different from what I had intended. Actually, the most challenging part from what I recall was trying to get CZcams's encoder to stop attempting over-compress and smooth away the grain filters I had applied, and leaving a bunch of ugly blocky artifacts in its place. I wish CZcams allowed us to tweak the encoding settings, as I've seen a lot of professional videos that are intended to be grainy end up looking like total garbage on CZcams. Anyway, thanks for the feedback!
