Schlagzeuger Tom Hunting und Gitarrist Kirk Hammett, der spätere Metallica-Gitarrist, gründeten 1981 in der kalifornischen Bay Area, einem wahren Metal-Mekka, die Band Exodus.
Innerhalb kürzester Zeit drehte die Band die ganze Szene auf links, indem sie einen neuen, aggressiveren Metalsound erfand, der später Thrash Metal getauft wurde. Ihr 1985er Debütalbum "Bonded By Blood" ist ein wahrer Genreklassiker. Aber auch live hat die Band einen legendären Ruf.

Got to see Exodus back in 2015 in Knoxville TN. with Testament and Shattered Sun, What a killer show! Kragen Lum was doing the job in place of Gary Holt, He's a shredder!
Que afortunados aquellos que estuvieron en este concierto, una actuación memorable de Exodus aún no teniendo a su principal miembro que es el alma de la banda, al señor Gary Holt. Un Setlist espectacular y un hermoso final con Lee Altus subiendo al chico al escenario, un gesto enorme de humildad y acercamiento al público. Nos quedan pocos años para seguir disfrutando de esta banda de esa manera, están en sus últimos años vigentes y eso hay que admitirlo. No tuve la suerte de verlos aún y me parece que no podré hacerlo, ojalá cuando esta pandemia finalice y quieran hacer una última gira en Argentina, los pueda ir a ver. Aguante Exodus papá!!!

Gary holt desde 2011 hasta 2019 se ausento algunas fechas con exodus porque se volvio el guitarrista de slayer tras la enfermedad y posterior muerte de jeff hanneman(descanse en paz) ahora esta de vuelta al 100% con exodus
En cambio el anterior vocalista Rob dukes estuvo de 2004 a 2014 hasta que fue despedido devido al regreso de steve souza

discovered this band like 2 months ago and have listened most of their discography. I find myself listening over and over again the albums with Dukes as the front man. I dont know I feel like Rob brought more energy and aggressiveness to the band.
Dukes was fucking awesome. No hate on Zetro but Dukes added a sharper edge to their sound.
I agree. There's songs like Scar Sprangled Banner and even The Beatings Will Continue that with Dukes would sound menacing!
The albums they did with Dukes are probably their most brutal. And probably the ones i listen to the most. But i also love all of their music from the beginning until now. I agree with you 💯
I feel ya. It's just, if ya been wit this band from the beginning it's Zetro all the way. Kinda like the Hannemann-Holt situation wit Slayer. Gary is frkin 'awesome' wit Slayer, but if Jeff was still here 'of course' it be best wit him on guitar, not easy replacing an og member. Ironically enuff that's why they got their 'fill-in' guitarist here cause Gary's main gig is wit Slayer now
@@kyletambolleo9366 have to agree Rob has a more brutal delivery. Some prefer Zet, some prefer Dukes, either way still a great live band 👍

Great band
Just a footnote in Exodus history, but to see the band without Gary, bitter sweet. You see history and jam Exodus, but not the same. I saw them minus Gary once and just not the same. I'm glad they got a show recorded from this time.

Maybe it wasn't Hunting's kit, maybe he had to take it from another band? Also there's a clear problem with the sound of that video, the second guitar just seems to disconnect lol

Jetzt kommt die Kritik: der Rockpalast wird doch seit Jahren gefilmt - was ist den Kameraleuten los? Die Schwenks und Reiß-Zooms sind ja echt nervig :D Auch der Schnitt is ziemlich komisch. Sieht so aus, als wäre es nach dem Motto "Lass mal schnell schneiden - das is ne schnelle Band!" gemacht worden. Manchmal ist weniger echt mehr...

The problem with putting a decent thrash band on early doors is that everyone is hungover and hasn't peaked again yet ...they actually start really getting into it on the last song ...terrible placement.
