- Schlagzeuger Tom Hunting und Gitarrist Kirk Hammett, der spätere Metallica-Gitarrist, gründeten 1981 in der kalifornischen Bay Area, einem wahren Metal-Mekka, die Band Exodus.
Innerhalb kürzester Zeit drehte die Band die ganze Szene auf links, indem sie einen neuen, aggressiveren Metalsound erfand, der später Thrash Metal getauft wurde. Ihr 1985er Debütalbum "Bonded By Blood" ist ein wahrer Genreklassiker. Aber auch live hat die Band einen legendären Ruf.

Great to hear this live with the voice of Steve Souza who sang it on the album and that many of us clicked with on the Exodus albums of the late 80s.
That's a great surprise...I thought Rob Dukes recorded the voice for Tempo of the Damned
Yeah I love Zetro's vocals! I missed seeing Gary Holt but they sounded great anyway!
When they opened for King Diamond in 2015 I was so excited to finally see Zetro/Holt/Hunting all on stage at once and then Holt wasn't there due to Slayer commitments. /facepalm
@@alexbrannon I remember that tour. I never forgot how lame Exodus sounded without Holt. It was a real eye opener. I never thought it would be that bad.
Exodus Blacklist Live At Wacken 08 this was a masterpiece and I prefer that lineup with Gary and Rob Dukes

I definitely agree that Rob Dukes is way better. But I would still say that Steve Souza is a great singer too

Exodus would have been my all time favorite band if Paul Baloff sang on ALL the albums. I saw Paul-fronted Exodus in 1985 with Venom and Slayer in Hollywood. Then twice in 1986.
When I saw Exodus years later with steve souza on vocals. That was the last time I wanted to see them live. RIP Paul. You were the only Exodus vocalist that mattered.

@@juanmiramontes4954 Yeah man, that was actually my first concert (I was 14). I had just bought Slayer's Show No Mercy and Venom's Possessed albums. My sister's boyfriend took me along. He had just seen months before Metallica open for W.A.S.P., so he told me "Be careful up front, it gets crazy as if you're at a punk show". That show didn't disappoint. I remember on my ticket stub it had: Goldenvoice presents Venom Slayer Oz. So I thought that band Oz was going to open. I'm fucking glad it was Exodus. I still remember it. Great memories. Time flies man.
@@juanmiramontes4954 The other two times I saw the REAL Exodus with Paul Baloff on vocals was Jan. 3rd 1986 at the Balboa with D.R.I., Possessed, and Death Angel (Dark Angel was on the flyer, but they flaked). and then again several months later at the Santa Monica Civic with Venom and Hirax. If only I had a time machine. But yeah, Baloff's vocals fit Exodus music 100% for me. Something this souza guy or the other singer Dukes didn't have. When I saw Exodus in (I want so say 1989) with Pantera, Souza's vocals just annoyed the fuck out of me.
