The director Denis Villeneuve wanted to direct Dune ever since he was a teenager. This is his life's work.

Also the music by Hans Zimmer as always incredible, i can't see anyone else as the music director for this movie
I love love love how the camera "strafes" with Paul while he's watching the worm from the top of the dune!
It was excellent camerawork! So so immersive!!
That worm came with murder in its eyes. It sounded like a jet roaring towards him. Catching a sandworm is like jumping on the back of the Empire State Building while it's moving at 60 mph... Crazy. and Insane.
You definitely felt that energy for sure! What an epic scene. The sound was such a perfect way to add some extra tension to the scene. Thanks for watching!
This extended peak was excellent in the theater. The sound for the movements of the worm were amazing. There is also a brief, but impressive, glimpse of the mobile imperial palace as it flew overhead. This is a must see for the best screens with the best sound.

The big hidden part about “the person whose name is never mentioned” since the beginning of this movie promotion is probably why there is so much showing of the sand worm riding…
The ones who have read the books know. It’s probably why the release was postponed too. I don’t see how the Hollywood writers strikes would have affected the film making process.
It was just a pretext because Denis needed more time to refine little A. Atreides character who could be not be played by an actress but entirely generated by CGI.
Yeah it was a huge component of the book to take on in a modern day movie. Also think some of the audience who have not read the book were just not ready to even think about that yet lol everyone is focused on Chani/Paul and of course the new additions to the cast…
Anya Taylor Joy was seen at the premiere yesterday so I think we may have our abomination 🤞🏽
The actors joined the strike, and thus couldn't do the PR rounds in talkshows, press-days, at conventions, etc. It is actually as huge part of the media blitz promoting movies, especially when you have a stellar cast like this one, with famous and eloquent actors and actresses. The strike also affected other movies, so I think this is a reach, but I could be wrong...

Watched part 1 at home with small surround sound and enjoyed it but would've been great in theaters, after this scene definitely watching part 2 in theaters, it'll be quite the experience. And, Kyra, have a great Valentines Day 🌹 🖤
I saw Dune Part 1 in the theater when it came out - the scene on Caladan when the ships rise out of the water together with a booming soundtrack made me actually go Wow! You can't replicate that feeling, no matter how good your home theater is. This is the reason why i still go occasionally to the theater, for experiences like these.

It’s a must see in IMAX if you have the chance, or Dolby. The score is one of my favorite parts of the film. Hans Zimmer really brings those desert scenes on Arrakis to life with his music. Can’t wait for part 2 - so close now!!

In the first part i didnt realise but only did in the second part that the score is composed by Hans Zimmer himself. What a background score. Epic 😎

The worm riding scene was amazing in IMAX

I love that scene, but how do you jump off the worms?
You stop it completely and just rappel down. Last guy though has to probably hustle to make it down safely before the worm disappears below and buries him alongside.
The Driver slows the worm down opening it's segments to keep it in the surface while the passengers rappel down. then the Driver leads the worm away from the crowd - and releases the maker hooks allowing the worm to burrow. He then leaps as it's burrowing. In case the worm is NOT TIRED - this can be tricky. but in typical Fremen journeys to the south, they typically ride the worm until it is worn down.

Boring film
not only did you watch the reaction, despite it being clearly labelled being about Dune, but you then also made 2 comments. If this is the way you spend your time (on things that bore you), go touch grass (or sand, if you are so inclined) and re-prioritize your life...
Let me start out. By saying that I wish I was going to see this movie with the two of you, who are super excited about seeing it instead of my husband. 🫢 I know that sounds bad but hear me out, I have watched part one so many times that he's not even excited at all about seeing Part Two. We just went to see the re-release of part one at IMAX last Saturday And he couldn't have been more bored, and I just don't understand it. I get chills every single time i watch it. I have read the book so many times and have also listened to the audiobook multiple times like when I'm laying down or when I'm busy, I just put headphones on and listen to it. I was so excited when I found out who was directing the movie and that he was a long time fan of the book and that he had been wanting to make this movie for a very long time. I can't wait to go see part two February 25 for the fan first Premiere in San Francisco at the Metreon, IMAX theater. Long live the fighters!
Hi Brandi - first of all, we’d absolutely would love to watch the new Dune with you! We don’t nearly have enough women in our life who are fans! Maybe one day, or maybe we will do a movie reaction on the channel when it is streaming!
I totally get how your husband isn’t into it. I’ve tried to show some of my friends the movie and most of them are very confused or bored, lol. It’s a lot to take in and I feel sorry they are missing out!
The audiobook is one of the best! The voices are phenomenal for it, I totally listen to it as well! I’m trying to reread the book this upcoming week before the movie comes out on the first! It’s been so long and I’m so excited to read it again!!
