    There are 12v Freon compressors that are more efficient, I’ve researched the Peltier for quite some time and it only works well in direct contact heating or cooling but it’s very bad with air cooling for AC’s. Using the condenser inside the car with a fan might be better than that small fan blowing on the cold heat sinks too. So instead to taking the whole thing apart, get another condenser with contact liquid adapters and circulate the cold liquid. It will also have a quieter fan than the smaller fan. The larger the liquid tank the better and you can wrap it in rock wool or use a small bathroom heater tank and turn it into a cool water container that is cooled by the Peltier. Great project, good luck!

      @@Darkipodyou may want to start with a search for 12 volt refrigerator compressors. Refrigeration compressors, etc.

      @@hansmuro7355 there are many units on the market today that use propane as the refrigerant. Many water coolers, ice makers, refrigerators, and freezers now use propane. As a refrigerant it is referred to as R290.
      "The R290 system has the advantages of a fast cooling rate and high refrigeration efficiency. The average specific refrigerating effect of the R290 system is approximately 52% higher than that of R134a with the optimal charge amount."
      Propane is excellent as a refrigerant, and works at lower pressures than the old R-12. An R-12 system can easily be cleaned and converted to propane and because of the lower pressures, also extend the life of the system.
      Yes, precautions are needed as with all refrigerant systems.

    Hi
    Great work on this project. I have done a similar experiment as well.
    Try the setup in parallel
    I think one of the specifications mention that a current limiting resistor may be required to ensure that the device does not heat up, this can also reduce the efficiency of your setup.
    You should use a variable speed pump so you can improve the scavenging effect of heat from the peltier block.
    Sometimes slowing the speed of flow will be useful to improve with heat removal. You can use PWM control for controlling the speed of your pumps.
    With your tubing try to have a parallel path , rather than branching into one serial connection which reduces the output flow to your heat exchanger.
    Need to mount the cooling side of your peltier inside the air duct work

    better you put peltier inside cabin, i think little efficient rather than outside, because the air were was cooled circulated and sucked by blower then temperature down. and also your waterblock not blown by hot air were coming from radiator instead of condenser. we wait the update.

    Nice work Albert, congratulations, but improve this by removing water coolant, you will save on 2 motors, instead use big heat sink on hot side. put Peltier in a case such a way, that the cooler side will be inside the car cabin, and on hot side that 1 big fan will eliminate the heat efficiently. Rather you don't need that fan too, since you are using it in front side of the EV, just try it with atmospheric air flow without fan. Trust me you won't regret, even it can be powered by solar. Hope you like my idea, on which I am working since long. Thank you.

      @nikhil126 Před rokem +1

      i disagree , since he is using It in a car , when the bonnet is closed , it could double the heat inside the closed space. for him to use a fan he will have to make a huge hole in the cars body for the fan(no one would do that) that is also considering he will have to make another hole for hot air exhaust . secondly peltier module's cooling depends on how well the heat is disapated from the hot side , water blocks make it extremly efficient for faster and reliable cooling regardless on outside temperature and is also very quite. he has definitely made the most efficient peltier cooling system by far on youtube.

    • @anthonyortega3136
      @anthonyortega3136 Před rokem

      I agree on the water but I would recommend using something other than the anti freeze for the coolant, pure distilled water has better cooling capacity and is a lot thinner which will draw more heat away and put less strain on the pump due to the viscosity. Also on the cooling side he should put the heat sink with thermal paste directly on the peltier, it's losing a lot of efficiency having to conduct the cold through multiple surfaces and no thermal paste on the cooling side has small channels of air that is a poor conductor as well. For the fans and pump he should use brushless to save a lot of energy and the cooling air intake should be taken from inside the car so it's recirculating making it even more efficient. In not bashing his work at all, I love it, he's done a great job but I just want to help him with suggestions like he asked. I'm not positive but also if he were to use a large capacitor for the power to the peltier I would think he could have that charged as well as the battery at the same time giving him more efficiency and drawing less power with less power spikes, especially stuttering startup when it uses the most power. This is so awesome, a solar panel added to the roof to charge the cooler battery and large farad capacitor alike save him even more, he'd get a charge while parked in the sun, it would help the battery last longer on drives in the sun as well. I'm also thinking to plumb the radiator outside the car are where the air from moving the vehicle forward would cool it and have the fan on a switch or thermistor to switch on when he's not moving, parked, at a light, or drive-thru would meet him more efficiency too! I love this idea that he's come up with, best use of peltier units I've seen.

  • @WTF_BBQ
    @WTF_BBQ Před rokem

    There is no way to make it efficient in a practical manner. The peltier modules are just very inefficient by nature. It is only good for small projects or when you just want to cool a small area without any regard for power consumption. A small window air conditioner consumes less than 500 watts while your setup consumes about 1000 watts. That is just the nature of these things.

Which alternator of a normal car can generate this much current with out damaging itself and the battery. Seems illogical and hypothetical project.
