West Virginia, USA.. Grew up with this song was never my style at the time I listened to country and disco but my brothers did and school functions played this but can appreciate it now it's real nostalgic for now
I had the Pleasure of fighting my way to the front of the crowd in Bremen Germany for his No jacket required tour one of the best concerts I’ve been to, I’ve seen him twice since.
A good version, and I'm glad you've finally caught up to this classic. But his version from "Finally...The First Farewell Tour" just kills this version. I believe his incredibly heartbreaking "Against All Odds" was written about this time and is also about his break up with his first wife. Along with these two give his remarkably moving "Another Day In Paradise".
This song haunted me until I discovered its Title& artist when I heard it the pilot episode of the TV series " Miami Vice" being played as Sonny drove that convertible down a nighttime street next to the waterway. Every time I hear it I see that scene in my head.
Growing up to this song and being 41 years old now my arms AUTOMATICALLY act out that drum beat no matter where I am or what I am doing when I hear it :)
I was originally born in Canada on an Indian Reservation but was adopted and my mom brought us back home to the United States so I live in Washington State
Please make a reaction to a young, very popular singer in world. Videos from this singer collect hundreds of millions of views. Diana Ankudinova is now only 17 years old. She has a very unique, very deep, clear voice. Dr. Marc Reynolds (Voice Teacher, Stage Director, Performance Coach and Consultant, and Acting Coach) said about the performance of this girl: Really really exceptional! Even if you ignore her age, even is she was 10, 20, 30 years older, this is still a really exceptional performer here that we're seeing. But at her age, unbelievable. Really really exceptional! Absolutely gorgeous! And again, not just because of her voice, because her performing, watching how nuanced and engaging her performance is. Ah, it's just so stunning. It's absolutely amazing.

I will never forget that iconic scene with In the Air tonight and Sonny & Tubbs in the TV Miami Vice...that scene changed the way TV dramas filmed....look that up on youtube and react to it Oli if you've never seen it. Also react to Home Free's newest "Warmest Winter", I think you'll really enjoy it
He suffers from excruciating back pain due to an injury. You can see him wincing in pain. He had to stop performing for years. He stands and sits throughout his concerts now to help control his pain. So sad where his personal life is now. 🙁
It would be very interesting to react to a very recent adaptation of this by a very nice band called MiC LOWRY Their song is called "Oh Lord". The band was picked as "Elvis Duran's Artist of the Month". This version "Oh Lord" with greatly sampling and adaptation is certainly worthy a visit. Even if you decide not tp react to it in public, give them a listen.
We can see a classic scene with this song, for first time on TV, in "Miami Vice" (first episode, in 1984), by director Thomas Carter: czcams.com/video/-aMCzRj3Syg/video.html

Phil wrote this after his divorce from his first wife. This whole album was written as kind of a message to her. He said he didn't really know what the song is about. I know you're a fan of guys like Sturgill Simpson and Tyler Childers, but you've gotta check out Arlo Mckinley. He's the last artist signed by John Prine to his label Oh Boy Records and he is amazing. He's from here in my same city of Cincinnati, Ohio. Check him out! czcams.com/video/Afq58gZFMB8/video.html
I WISH REACTORS LIKE YOU WOULD PLEASE NOT TAKE OUT PIECES OF THE VIDEO. IT TAKES AWAY FROM THE MUSIC. I UNDERSTAND COPYRIGHT LAWS, BUT YOU CAN AT LEAST PUASE IT HERE AND THERE. THUMBS DOWN TO ALL THAT CUT OUT PARTS OF THE VIDEOS!!!! THE LONG INTRO TO THIS SONG WAS DONE ON PURPOSE TO BUILD THE SONG!
Every time I hear Phil Collins sing, I am immediately brought back to the 80's where I made a huge decision and change in the direction of my life
An underrated classic, but classic none the less, is "Seven Bridges Road" by the Eagles. Awesome harmonies and wonderfully descriptive lyrics!
Yes indeed!!

I agree, the version from the farewell tour blows this version away
