I saw a quote about john moreland that I really agree with: "If the American music business made any sense, guys like John Moreland would be household names.". This man is amazing!
I think that may have been a tweet from the lovely Rachel Maddow
Oklahoma and Texas produce so many damn good musicians.
You get emotional hearing it, we all do. See him live, he makes most of the grown men tear up. He’s something else.
Also....John Moreland's song Cherokee is absolute GOLD as well
I've been showing this greatness to as many people that will listen as often as I can. John moreland is magnificent.
His pauses between lyrics to let his truth sync is remarkable. It appears he wants both side to suffer a bit.
From a small sample from the
soundtrack on the series Yellowstone, to buying three albums this man is a treasure and inspires me to no end.
Let me tell you....I've listen to every single reaction available to this song....and countless times by myself......this song for anyone who's ever loved and lost such as I have it makes me break down.....can't believe every single person doesn't know this song and how beautifully tragic it is
John Moreland is great! Try break my heart sweetly!
I'm from Oklahoma, US. 🤙🏼
Oklahoma boy here, still waiting on that Benjamin Todd - Who I'am Ain't Who I've been reaction. Cheers!
Easily one of his best.
"Of hatred and apathy, apathy is the greater evil. Even in hated there is a seed of compassion fore you must care on some level to feel either. But in apathy there is truly nothingness. "
This cat is the real deal. Please do more.
Oklahoma is a land of many things, proud people is towards the top from my experience. He’s proud of his roots and displays that daily. Another band you’re familiar with- Turnpike troubadours are from OK too. One thing about OK is they’re a strong representative of native Americans and a lot of these musicians pay tribute to the Cherokee and native tribes. Cheers 94, merry Christmas my friend 🍻
Best song ever...perhaps the best artist recently. Its been a while since any words have made me feel so much. Genius.
So true!
This is such a good song!
I think the line refers to like, he is trying to get over a dead relationship that she is already over. Forcing himself into what she's already been through. But she is already over him. She no longer loves him enough to keep crying over the loss.
That’s the way I interpreted it, as well.
A flippin’ STUNNER of a song!
Amazing I keep watching this reaction and other still t0 this daY!! Cali gang 🙏🏼
So good to see John Mooreland back on the channel.
My favorite John Moreland song is Cherokee. Similar vein as this one but very profound.
I love this guy. His lyricism is second to none.
Great job on the videos bud. Sending support from San Antonio, Texas.
Watching from upstate New York, USA
I healed from narcissistic abuse after hearing this song at five o'clock one morning. It's about a narcissist and how we live the pain of their existence. Blacklist also came to me on the same day. I learnt them by the next day and finally started to heal.
Love seeing a fellow brit enjoying the genre. Much love from southampton UK!
You gotta listen to my boy Tyler Braden, he's the next big artist coming out of Nashville. He used to be a firefighter and has a song called Secret that I think you'd love.
Listen to Hang Me in the Tulsa County Stars and/or Cleveland County Blues.
Pennsylvania brother. I hop you are ready for this. Pennsylvania has a bunch of Nashville transplant
Oklahoma, Arkansas , Kentucky and the like, have produced and still do produce so many great musicians because hard living creates great music. Great reaction!
Go see him play a small bar. You’ll be probably be pouring tears.
Told you this one would be emotional when I heard you do hang me in the Tulsa county stars
