I watched that interview after this controversy to know exactly what did Sadaf say but the host was so unbearable that I couldn't even watch the entire show. Amma is right that people who have talent like Munshi are not offered shows whereas girls like this host are offered where they don't know what even eye contact is and are busier in eating rather than listening to their guests.

She’s not even a housewife because she works, she still models and designs clothes and on top of that she’s always seen socialising outside in Karachi with her friends. Her whole life is a party. She however is trying to win conservative public over after the whole affair accusations thing.

    It’s a man’s complete responsibility to financially provide for his wife ( and kids) in Islam. Women are blessed with being able to give birth to children. Women can 100% work if they want to as long as their earning is halal, but they don’t have to work, and they don’t have to give a single penny of their earnings to their husband.

    It's not just Nida Yasir's problem but a lot of Pakistani celebrity children are being raised this way, like they don't know any urdu, they are very angrez. Look at Javeria & Saud, their children also only converse in English, one has blond hair while the other has blue. And we in Canada; our biggest concern is ke bachon ko urdu/Punjabi ajaye, culture samajh lein etc. English is just a language, not a status symbol. And only an educated person will understand that.

  • @mariayounus8378
    @mariayounus8378 Před 3 lety +39

    I agree with Momin about the power play. To be exact, whenever men see women going above them, they group and target her because they feel insecure and that exists everywhere whether it is a TV show or an office. This is the reason that women are on fire and we have Aurat March (though I myself don't agree entirely with the idea of Aurat march but some of the points are valid). The reason you don't see many women leaders around is the same reason as they have harder journeys and have multiple tasks to take care of and their male counterparts don't support them because of their insecurities. Even if there would be Mahira Khan, she would have also been teased, not at the same level as Rabis butt, but it would have been there. And the reason behind this is, Mahira is very humble and never accepts her position/level. She happily leaves her own position and gives the credit to the opposite person which kind of satisfies the male ego.

    I'm so glad that you guys were able to understand the actual issue and gave an intelligent take on it. There's nothing wrong in being a homemaker or doing house chores. But the way she tried to impose that on others was very problematic. Every woman should be able to decide for herself. The problem is that people like her come from a place of privilege and tell these things to those who don't have the same privilege as them. Some other actresses have also given similar views. What they don't realize is that life is not the same for every woman in an average desi household. Many are married off to be servants to their inlaws and require their permissions to do even petty things for themselves including meeting their own parents. Many can't even voice their opinions and don't have the liberty to parent their own kids without interference. So these celebrities coming from their privileged bubbles, having financial independence, career, supportive husbands and inlaws, should realize that majority of the women don't share the same privilege. They can only speak for themselves but not on behalf of someone whose pain they have never experienced. They are contributing to the misery of those who are already suffering.

As far as slogans of aurat march are concerned, there is some history about every slogan,for example, for" apna khaana khud grmm kro " there is history is of death of a woman for serving her husband cold meal... So when you display a placard at aurat march you also put your emotions and trauma into it faced by those women.... Peace #feedbackcorner

    I am a doctor and make good 6-7 figure money and still I believe that yes, husband is your caretaker and it does give him a rank higher. But that rank higher, comes with higher set of responsibility, which are not just financial, but emotional and social as well.
    Sadaf's way of addressing the whole thing was patronising, k shohar ko Nahi pata Hona Chahiye biwi Ka. Kyun Bhai. Allah has made him your companion and gaurdian, if he doesn't know, then who should know.
    Sirf toxic masculine culture ko promote krne Kay liye, liberals aur feminists ko galiyan Dy k piyari beti image Dy dou.
    And All the chores of husband (for that matter wife's) should come from sense of love and responsibilities for each other. Being born to a specific gender doesn't automatically grant you all the rights. They need to be earned through your actions.

    I agree with both of you regarding the interview. But I don't think we can use Adnan's image to justify him making another person uncomfortable. We often stereotype men especially older ones to be more flirtatious and make it a part of their personality. That gives men opportunities to overstep boundaries when interacting with other women because now they are not doing anything out of the ordinary it's part of their personality. How is that acceptable??
    And out of all places he chooses national television to be some sleazy douche. It just made me cringe to think he is so comfortable doing this on tv I wonder how he is off-camera. As humans, we have control over our urges and our mouth. The few scenes you have shown have made me so angry because Rabia is a phenomenal actor. I would definitely compare her skill to the likes of Mahira and Ayeza. It doesn't matter who the woman is she should be respected and gross remarks shouldn't be allowed. It's highly inappropriate and derogatory. And we seriously need to set higher standards for hosts. Channels need to stop hiring unqualified and unprofessional hosts. #feedbackcorner
