    Why on earth would they not make it 15mm longer and take their 18650 from all of the WMs and Batons? It's not like this is going to be a pocket light anyway. Not only would this almost double the capacity, but also give it some degree of cross compatibilty with the rest of their line. OLight continues to make bizarre design decisions that I just don't get....

    Honestly your channel seems to have the most realistic reviews when it comes to details about a flashlight. I like knowing all this detail and being able to see the actually product in action and with real world testing. Olights Lucky to be able to have their lights shown on your channel. I've bought about $2K worth of their lights based off of your reviews alone.

    I've found the Javelot Mini to be a very good long range performer in a relatively small package and with useful spill. However, where it falls down is in specialized battery of quite low mAh! Also a side switch would be a nice addition, as with many in the Warrior series. Thanks for the great and detailed review! 👍🔦👍

    I love the long threads you mentioned it means they grind out more metal to recycle for another flashlight while reducing weight and increasing strength great tactic I wish more companies did that

      Should’ve got the Baton series. The power u get in distance with the Javelot is the same with the Baton series except it’s a flood light instead of long range. I got the Baton 3 pro max on sale for like $70 if I stand in the center of my street and shine the light down the road on its highest setting it will light up houses on both sides of the street about 400-500 ft down and it’s like daylight. Even on the second lowest setting it still lights up 150ft out and 40-50ft wide. The Baton 3 pro is a little less powerful at 1750 lumens compared to the pro max at 2500 and even that has enough power to light up the entire block and it’s only a little bigger than a Bic lighter. When Olight has a sale you can get those for about $55-$59. I did buy the Mini Marauder which goes up to 7000 lumens. Truthfully there really isn’t any practical purpose to having a light that powerful but it is damn cool. Thing is I don’t reach for it often cuz it’s heavy. If you’re gonna go for a 30min walk you’ll quickly realize you prefer carrying something smaller. I don’t regret buying it tho. Still super cool to use every once in a while. Highly suggest u buy one of the baton models for daily use

    I bought this light. I wanted to buy the Archer again because I lost the first one. No need to buy that light now! I highly recommend the Javelot Mini if you need to see far off in the distance! You could use for edc but, anything upclose would be too bright. Get this light! you will love it! I own the regular Surefire Stiletto for edc. I highly recommend the Stiletto as well.

    I bought one because I need something with a tight beam pattern but I didn’t realize just how much candela it actually has. I’m a maintenance technician so sometimes some throw will be good when looking at heights but for the most part this will be used for plc boxes and looking into large machinery. Do you think I’m low mode things 5-20 feet away will be too bright?

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  Před rokem

      It's a mini tactical flashlight, It's definitely not made for what you're going to be using it for. However, it might be perfect for what you need it for. So with that said I think that on the low mode 5 to 20 ft away is more than reasonable. 😎👍

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  Před rokem +1

      The if22a is heavier and larger and you can use it to charge your phone oddly enough. However, the Javelot Mini throws a more stable beam with a better hot spot at a distance. The further out you go with the If22a the more undefined and blurry the beam becomes. They both throw equally for the most part but on paper the if22a throws about 280ish feet further with a less defined beam if that makes sense. 🤷‍♂️😎👍

    No built in charging ? No moonlight mode ?

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  Před rokem +2

      It's a JAVELOT mini, which a regular Javelot is basically a long range flashlight. Which means that the mini would also be a long range flashlight but smaller. The charging method is really not an issue for some but it would probably be nice to see a c type charging port on these especially since it's so much smaller and a lot of folks use c-type for everything these days. However the reason for the magnetic charging port is because c type charging ports wear out over time. Thus it promotes the longevity of being able to change without the fort becoming damaged over time. What's it helps ensure that the device will stay waterproof. My preference of magnetic charging vs c-type charging varies from flashlight to flashlight. For some models it's great to see a C type, on others not so much. It's really the preference of the user as well. It would have been pretty neat to see a moonlight mode on this light but they do make other flashlights. I know that Olight outdone themselves with the newest EDC flashlight coming out very soon. I would wait on purchasing any flashlights until you see this new one coming out within the next couple of months. I have it already and it's pretty amazing.

      @@PreparedGuy I use the sofirn If22a, it has a nice shape and throws a far beam and a huge battery which needs little charging. It's 5 inch length and i use an open holster for it. My only 2 complaints is i wish it were a little less weight and those side buttons take time to find. I'm looking now at the thrunite catapult mini with onboard charging.

    The Javelot mini is not designed to be mounted as you said that's the Javelot Tac not the mini your information is incorrect

    • @PreparedGuy
      @PreparedGuy  Před rokem +2

      I had to review a light nobody had any information about for a sale that didn't exist yet a month before they even announced a sale. I get random lights sent to me ahead of time with no information and even when olight gives me information they change details last minute and I create most of my videos weeks if not months before the release announcement. They told me the Javelot mini was going to have a mount a month before the releases and a week later they designed a completely different light and released it without informing me about it. They basically identical. Blame olight for this video having inaccurate details about the mounting option. Their marketing team has extremely poor communication. 🤷‍♂️
