Eternals is better than The Snyder Cut!

You’re right that makkari has this very Dash-like aesthetic, and yes Dash is the best movie speedster probably, well actually behind Quicksilver imo. But I think the point of Flash in the Snyder Cut was to show how isolated he feels in his superspeed mode, thats why he seems kind of sad when he saves Iris in his introductory scene. She might be there, but she’s still out of reach in a way. And we did get him at normal speed in the scene where he saves the people from the falling debris, which was a very cool shot in my opinion.

This is definitely a fair interpretation! I don’t think there aren’t any redeemable parts to Flash, the debris sequence is def cool shoulda mentioned that one. But I just feel that constantly going back to slo mo is just a bit tiring over and over again even if you can get a narrative point out of it as you mentioned. I’d just prefer if they could get more creative with how they use his powers, and they definitely had a lot of opportunities in a 4 hr movie that they didn’t take 🤷‍♂️
