I just watched Morrisey's version and then this. They're both different but equally beautiful. I can't even imagine watching them do this song together. I feel like they both play this song with such emotion because this song has taken on new meaning. If you search Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want Live on CZcams, you get Morrisey and then Marr. They both perform the hell out of the song. It's almost creates this "This song says exactly what drove us apart. We both have what we want and now we are apart. It's bittersweet" It's truly sad and you can see it in their faces. I wonder if they think about their time in the Smiths more when they do this song than any other song.

It goes without saying that this performance is sheer brilliance in every way. I would add that although band reunion tours are a dime a dozen, a Smiths reunion tour would be massively successful.
Smiths / Morrissey fans have spent decades living with this music, and many are in their 40's - 50's. The devotion to the Morrissy / Marr brand is hard to overstate and it never really ends.
Who is your favorite all time band?
    "The Smiths."
Who is your second favorite all time band?
    "I don't have one."

Amazing song.. I know of The Smiths but I've never heard any of their songs. The chords in this song are, for me, so deep and melancholy, I hasten a tear or two, it reminds me of past tragedies, losing loved ones, or a lost moment in time that could've changed my future ... Johnny Marr has wonderful phrasing ... so moving.

I see the humor here, but those are sound baffles; we don't see them as much in outdoor venues but mostly indoors to prevent the drums from bleeding into other instruments at the mixing desk and then through the sound system.
