As an avid bubbler, I'm totally amazed at your skill and abilities. 1st I saw a free diver at 100ft depth a few years ago, he was in a yoga pose. Crossed arms and legs. I must have sucked in 5 breaths and he still hadn't moved. I was happy he opened his eyes and went to the surface again agonizingly slow.
Pretty funny! However I would discourage messing with divers unless you know them really well. My dad is a dive instructor, so I grew up diving. I would like to point out that even just seeing something they weren't expecting can panic a new diver and send them rocketing to the surface. As a free diver you can appreciate what this means if they forget to exhale, which neophytes typically do when panicking. So please don't mess with the divers unless you know them personally and know their skill level.
+rexiklexi169 someone touches you from behind on the shoulder you tend to jump and freak out dont you same happens here but underwater its 10 times worse because you never know what it was that just touched you it could be a fish it could be a shark you dont know till after
Dude, there are other languages than fucking english on this planet. Get over the fact not everybody speaks perfect english. Do you even speak a second language properly?
He did not interfere with anyone's equipment. He was having fun and considering these dives sites are accessible by boats, he was probably on their boat in the first place and warned them. The "holy shit" comment was probably because no diver would actually expect him to have gone through the wreck at that depth. Having someone tap on your shoulder is no more surprising than a fish flashing unexpectedly close to your mask. If that diver panics because he has someone tap his shoulder he has never been taught to dive with a buddy. In scuba diving all kind of things happen to you, fin kicks to the face by noobs that flood your mask, a reg knocked out of your mouth etc. These people were at depths that exceed a regular open water diver so they would either be advanced divers or with an instructor. Anyways, people, lighten up, this is a fun video and I am in awe at this breatholding abilities.
Réal Fortin I don't like any kind of "practical jokes" underwater and on the land. Is not nice to scare people and is dangerous to do this underwater for your personal pleasure. I am a scuba diver and see no pleasure for a punk to kill someone pleasure of diving.
Alex Leonardi Some people, especially first timers, experience claustrophobia when they dive. I sometimes freelance as an assistant instructor when I'm on holiday, in exchange for free rental gear and a bit of change, and trust me a panicking diver is no laughing matter. When they lose it, they go straight for the surface. In case you don't know surfacing too fast while breathing compressed air, is really dangerous. If this was my team, I would've blacked that freediver's eye.
Nitrogen and the "bends" is still a danger to free-divers although it rarely does become a problem. With enough free-dives in rapid succession and long enough bottom times, freedivers do get the bends. I have never and I feel it is because I usually follow a rule of the "8's" that start when I start at 80 feet. I force myself to spend 8 minutes purging/breathing up on the surface if I just dove to 80 feet. 10 minutes for 100. 15 for 150 feet and so on. This has worked for me so far.
Glad to hear I was an inspiration. I like to say that freediving is 90% mental and 10% training. Being comfortable and relaxed while going deep is the biggest challenge for most freedivers. 80' and 3 minutes is something to be proud of. Just keep at it as long as you're diving with a solid partner who watches you like a hawk! The magical 100' will come soon. :-)
@@RedSkyrkw they never shut your scuba of. You just stay at bottom at about 5-6m and watch the instructor do it. You have to "stand up" on the bottom and hold your breath. Let your second stage go and ascend slowly letting a little bit of air out because of pressure change. Once you are on the surface you have to blow your bcd up using only your mouth. The instructor will ask you if everything is ok and if you say yes you just go back down while others do it. And lets not forget that the instructor is the whole time right next to you with second stage in his hand. They arent allowed to turn your air supply of and only place anyone is is navy seals.
+Cayden1988 Yeah. Try that. You'll learn some fun stuff about pressure-locked first stages as you turn helplessly around your own axis trying to apply force to an immovable object in a weightless environment. Then afterwards during the surface interval the diver might inquire why you did not opt to just turn off the air using the actual knob designed for the purpose, and why you think the diver would still be alive and conscious anyway breathing pure oxygen at 100 ft . I think you'd sleep soundly what with all the new tricks and stuff you'd learned that day.
THis man has some serious lungs! :O I can barely hold my breath for that long whilst im totally still. He does it whilst swimming down to 100ft, and then fooling around down there for a bit, and then swimming back up. Insane!
He literally yells HOLY SHIT. That is funny. These are a bit on the asshole level, but nothing dangerous like turning off their air or stealing their mask. I think the best would be to ask them how much air they have. Point at Scuba diver Make your hand into a fist, with your index finger extended, but curled into a quistion mark like hook. Wow, it's nice, I thought that without eardrums there is no need to equalize at all. I've read a story about a Greek fisherman who had no eardrums and could dive to 70-100 meters. It was one of freediving books, I am not sure which one.

I did the shoulder tap to a diver like what you showed in the video and he got so scared... I think I nearly killed him because he twitched and panicked underwater... I will never do that again. It's funny but I don't want to be responsible for murder.

If a freediver tried these tricks on me, I'll just hold onto them and see if they are still amused 😂 Amazing video by the way dude. In all seriousness, I always appreciate some diver humor.
Impressive. Though I agree that "harassment" of divers is not a great idea. Not touching them and just suddenly being where they don't expect you though....thats hilarious!
Jack da king it is a real test of your drive and mindset because you push your body to the limits that it can go. I have the greatest respect for these free divers. You don't just wake up one morning being able to dive to 100 feet and stay down there for a period of time. In what way is it ignorant?
As a scuba diver I would never provide air to a free diver, unless I knew they are scuba certified, the stunt was planned, and we have a backup. If you give just one sip of air, the free diver is turned in to an untrained scuba diver, without equipment, and you can be held liable for any injury.
@107987505030568467069 Yes. Passing out and being brought back is not less dangerous than having yuor lungs burst. Better plan is to either alert their buddy or just take them back up (recreational scuba diving is meant to always be planned so that you can swim straight up without getting the bends). If you take a breath of air and swim down to 10m, the volume of air halves. Now imagine if you gave them a breath of air at 10m, and they swim back up. That air will now increase to double it's size, and they will have popped their lungs - like a balloon. More dangerous than "the bends" or basically anything else - In fact, it might even be better to just take them up and let them pass out if they do, and then get them breathing when you get them to the top. In all, free diving in general is just a very dangerous thing to do, and I'd recommend SCUBA over free diving in almost all cases where a person is going deeper than 10m.
Vousie V I agree it can be dangerous, and would not recommend it either. In theory the free diver can exhale all his air on the way up to the surface, as you would do in an emergency ascent, and be perfectly fine if they were at 10m depth for example.
Yep. But the freediver wouldn't know about that if he's not SCUBA certified. If you must give him air, then you'll have to make sure he keeps breathing through it while you both swim to the top (eg if he gets stuck somewhere and you know it's gonna be something like 15 min before you can get him out). But in all other cases it's much safer to just pull him to the surface - even if he's just fainted.
Very impressive, but a little too much Ego, freediver should respect the Scuba Divers down there. Its almost safety issue trying at times to spook them while showing off, id be annoyed even though i scuba and freediver. If he was a little more humble and did his own thing/gave them a bit more space & respect it would have been wayyyy more impressive, due to big Ego have to give a thumbs down, even though he's has skills as a freediver. Be humble next time.
Hey, those are advanced divers(even though they act like noobs), plus Im pretty sure he was on 1 boat with them. Finally, those tricks were not scary at all, during a dive you usually communicate with others, so it's ok)
This was a great video but the one where you went down without fins is stupid...you have nothing to prove. The fact that you had to put down the camera shows that you knew without fins you could not make it to the surface in time without using your arms as well. Freediving is dangerous enough already and there's no need to impress a bunch of strangers on the internet, or worse give someone else in our community ideas.
People do no fins all the time lol. He ad to stage it though. Can you imagine doing no fins with only one arm? Went down got his shot, went back up grabbed his fins retrieved the camera. Jesus.
I was a certified scuba diver, open-circuit and closed. Also a qualified combat swimmer. Screwing around and distracting someone underwater is foolish and dangerous. If any diver started that shit, I'll just say I would resent it mightily and they would find that out right quick. People with their head up their ass, e.g. as in Kieth Larson's post, need to learn diving etiquette and safety procedures and to not make a jackwad out of themselves on the internet. And if you think for one second you can out swim me, I'll put my kick up against yours any day. My tanks are positively bouyent when empty, so I'd just open the valve and drop them and then we would compare notes.
I can tie my shoes without looking and I am certified to walk open heel and closed heel. And I you think for one second you can out fly me I will put my flyi.g skilld up against yours any day my jet pack is top of the line so I will just open throttle and we can compare notes
The way i equalize most of the time is open up my jaw kind of like a yawn. it saves me from having to use my hand to close my nose. every once in a while i have to use my hands. Nice freediving, i can only go about 50 feet now.
well said this man deserves a round of applause people should just dive or just free-dive but all the better if they do both ive been doing both for about 3 years and never discriminated between the two
Awesome, simply awesome. I have a hard time free diving past 20 ft. You get past 100, and have time to mess with other people. Definitely a fun video to watch.
@blessumm I admire you and admire ur skills and ur strong heart..and above all ur videos, God Bless you and keep u in good health... Ur fellow freediver..
Awesome video dude, love seeing people so comfortable in the water. Me and my friend went on a free diving trip in Asia last year, and at one of the resorts some overweight 50yo mid life crisis scuba divers gave us shit - we just dropped down to their 20m's on their leaner dives, checked their air pressure gauges, and told their instructor to take them up haha. Best trick ever :p
Paul McDonnell, hey mate, i was born deaf too, and i am a freediver too, i think that sport is the best for us, it's amazing when we're at those depth in the blu and in our silence, that's the best feeling ever, catch you later bro !
LOL! reading some comments n it's HILARIOUS to see freedivers flaming the scuba divers and vice versa. even though both are underwater explorers, and both LOVE what they do :)
LOL.. Did that in Hawaii decade or so ago. 90 feet. A tour class was being held and I went down to check it out. Two people turned around and I got a double double take. Took a pic of the moment. They offered me some air but I just waved it off and sat there for a min. Annnnndd DOUBLE DOUBLE take again!!! I could hear them thinking holy crap that guy is still here. LOL Couldn't take another pic. Stupid disposable cams. Can't wind them down there LOL Thanks!!! I haven't thought about that day in years.....
Would love to see one of the "bubblers" give him a bear hug... and not let go! Watch his smugness vanish as that precious, single gulp of oxygen starts to dwindle. =)
I couldn't have even if I wanted to. Never ever heard music in my life before - born deaf so pretty clueless and couldn't care less about any sound related stuff... Glad it turned into an unexpected bonus for this video.
I still find it amazing what you've trained your body and mind to do. I wouldn't believe how long you could go without breathing if I wasn't watching it. Hopefully I see you down under somewhere and can be amazed in person.
Haha I love the one where you dive through the wreck and he screams :D I do scuba diving myself and omg that'd probably have scared the heck out of me too, just nothing you'd expect.
it takes alot of practice and being in shape always helps. Once you start freediving regularly though you get better and better each time. It's just as much mental as it is physical

I love the way it captures the squeak as you equalise. I've never had it come through on camera footage, thought it was only audible inside my head.
He took his fins off so he could stand on the ship and ham it up......not to impress people....
no fins is also one of the freediving disciplines, you do not need fins for freediving
People do no fins all the time lol. He ad to stage it though. Can you imagine doing no fins with only one arm? Went down got his shot, went back up grabbed his fins retrieved the camera. Jesus.
Would it be funny it that was a open water diver and he start panicking grabs on to you until your face turn green lol pls don't fuck with diver
Mad freediving skills- fair play!
Brilliant tricks, love that last one. I'm not sure I'd ever feel comfortable going that deep but would love to learn how to free dive properly.
My tanks are positively bouyent when empty, so I'd just open the valve and drop them and then we would compare notes.
everyone is shaking in their boots man
Crow T. Robot Lighten up man.
I can tie my shoes without looking and I am certified to walk open heel and closed heel. And I you think for one second you can out fly me I will put my flyi.g skilld up against yours any day my jet pack is top of the line so I will just open throttle and we can compare notes
Who the fuck cares
massive props dude.
I loved this cx
just love it!
You got mad skills and it's an awesome video. Ty for good laugh and inspiration ;-)
I love your suit. it's awesome
That is amazing... I wish I could go that deep! Funny to watch haha.
great video!!
My eyes are literally popping out" just by watching this! The pressure.😳🤯
really cool footage !
Great video, thumbs up from us and cheers from sunny IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
LoooL, best. I love to have fun with scuba divers and pranking while freediving. :)
The way i equalize most of the time is open up my jaw kind of like a yawn. it saves me from having to use my hand to close my nose. every once in a while i have to use my hands. Nice freediving, i can only go about 50 feet now.
When one has super power its not always good to be cheeky about it but your camera shots are incredible.
well said this man deserves a round of applause people should just dive or just free-dive but all the better if they do both ive been doing both for about 3 years and never discriminated between the two
Very impressive sir!
That's an insane amount of distance you go down. Hard core! So impressive 💪
I love it!
i love how like when you free dive im like in a dream lke things are unreal
Paul McDonnell, hey mate, i was born deaf too, and i am a freediver too, i think that sport is the best for us, it's amazing when we're at those depth in the blu and in our silence, that's the best feeling ever, catch you later bro !
Great skills sir /salute
imho this guy is amazing for being to able hold his breath for so long
haha, i always mess with bubble blowers when i see them. the last trick was hilarious!
you're awesome!! 😄
Harmless prank vs lethal prank. There is a difference which is humorous
Love this so much as a bubbler.. :-)
Free diving Is simply amazing :)
LOL! reading some comments n it's HILARIOUS to see freedivers flaming the scuba divers and vice versa.
even though both are underwater explorers, and both LOVE what they do :)
I like people with sense of humor :)
So badass dude
Cool Video man.
Nice !
I am technical diver but love freediving , my wife is freediver, she did the same to me once when i was on deco stop :)
Awesome videos! You make me miss Oahu and almost, make me want to abandon my bubbles...almost :P
I agree, I did the shoulder tap to My dad while free diving, at 35 feet though, not at 100!!, Im in awe of his skills!!
it takes alot of practice and being in shape always helps. Once you start freediving regularly though you get better and better each time. It's just as much mental as it is physical
