Good idea using a screw! Thanks for that! Mine was very hard to get out, even with the screw.

I figured it out the same way, too. Used a metal screw, pulled it out with a pair of needlenose pliers. Voila!

Thanks for sharing this. I have a defective Speakman and they are sending me a new one. Only issue is that my previous one was 2.5GPM, this will be 1.75GPM. If I do what you have demonstrated here, does that reduction not really matter?

It won't matter.. the flow restrictor is what and lowers it down to 1 .75. You could actually buy restrictors, they have 1,1.5,1.75 etc... but, you should check your water flow without the shower head on first and see how that is because sometimes there are restrictors before the actual shower arm comes out or... I actually forgot grr..I think some people have been actual restrictor in their pipes. I would Google it for you but I'm actually putting up a new shower head LMFAO check it out I hope this information helps

What diameter screw & does screw need to be flat at end going into faucet or will pointed screw work?

do you put the black O ring back in afterwards?

    • @ftumi

The black.. an o- ring is to create a seal (with the water between the head and and the hose/ arm) so it won't leak. I just test mine out before I put it on and if it leaks more than what some Teflon, plumbers tape will help I put it back on. 🙂
