Funny, my lights on the gunbox that come on when you flip activate are white. Not the dulled yellow, I didnt notice that until now and im pretty sure they're supposed to be yellow like yours.

I have wonderered the logical end of your question: will the video game become officially recognized canon? Technically they could just say that these modes exist in this canon separate from the game (they've done things like that in the comics where characters from Extreme Ghostbusters exist, but arent the same person as they are in the show), but it would be really cool to find some passing reference as to what happend to the Rookie, and for that matter the rest of the main cast from all works prior. Personally i think the kids having access to other modes, and finding reasonable plot points for them to actually be used might clutter the story (remember different modes have specific qualities best used against specific types of paranormal entities). It would be a disservice to the lore of the game, and the passion with which the pseudoscientific thinking Dan Aykroyd put into the original film, if it was just a /different kind of Gun/ qith diferent collor special effects. What i do think would be cool is if somehow at the end of the film the breifly access the statis stream and shockblaster mode but don't actually use it. Like in a post credit scene we see them examining the pack on a table in the barn and they find a button they hadn't noticed on the pack itself. They press it and we see the cyclotron change colors and the fins fold out before cutting to black. It would serve as a nice nod or easter egg for fans in general and s nod to more casual audiences that somethin more is to come in the sequel.

It will be a officially licensed product, because they took pictures and measured the prop from the prop warehouse at Columbia Pictures. Every item you get comes with a sticker, once you get all the stickers and put it on a card to mail in, Macks Factory will send you a letter of authenticity. If you've already seen and heard then my apologies.
