Whatever this kid raised on his app for layover destination is probably cheaper than the airlines charging for direct destination. I’m sure the airlines despise that. Didn’t they try to charge the passengers for not flying the whole way? Can they do that?

And with everything being purposely overbooked, you’re doing someone a favor when you don’t use your seat for the final leg of the trip.
They'll ban you from flying on their airline if you do it often. They may also let other airlines know, and thus be unable to fly. There are a handful of people who had this happen, as I believe most Airlines Terms and Conditions say you must fly the entire way, unless unable to due to medical or unforeseen circumstances.

Actually i looked it up on his website its about 287 from san diego to new york at the cheapest (not round trip), then direct from most airlines are 227 round trip. Maybe jt works better when going to other countries or maybe it depends on your location but from what i can see is that he really is scamming people

He won actually since he didn't do any illegal business and their accusation was he was asking for more than what was available on the official which again is not a crime even if he did since he is just asking a premium for his Service which the customers are willing to pay.
It has nothing to do with this guy making money. I am sure it has to do with the airline wasting time from calling out missing passengers as the next leg of flight will show missing passengers during boarding. This can waste time/fuel while waiting and, in the long run, adds up.
@@shemk no bro, all airlines are scheduled to leave, whether you show up or not. They will leave. They do not go past the deadline waiting for people. They just leave. Even if everyone gets on early. You're waiting around for the flight time to come. Because all flights are scheduled, means it's a very specific window the runway is free. No extra fuel is wasted or used.

Yeah and if the airline sees you doing this over and over they will ban you from flying on their airline. They are catching a lot of people doing this! There is likely in small print somewhere on your ticket that prohibits this.

What an absurd lawsuit. The kid is smart. I never thought of doing something like this, however when researching flights I noticed that often buying a round trip ticket you don't really save much money vs one way tickets. Also you have less flight choices/times by sticking with the same airlines (I don't fly often enough to build up travel points). So when getting airline tickets, often I will book one way tickets on separate airlines if necessary (so I have a better selection of return time/seat choice).

These airlines will lose a lot of money if they continue to fight him.

What’s the name of this movie
The airline business is tough, ok. How is that relevant to the specific situation? The airline's complaint was...people who paid for the ticket not fully utilizing what the ticket gave them access to, the full route? How are they injured by that? The customer paid for the whole flight...it's not like they got off early and therefore got a partial refund, or added to the airline's costs. The skiplag guy is reselling the airline's product, and is successful with it because it's providing the customer with value for their money.
Their bottom line is being hurt, the airline obviously makes money for straight up non layover flights, and skip lag is saving their customers money which in the end is costing the airlines money. So instead of making let’s saying 200 million that year the airline may only be making 190 million which is still insane money😂 but big corporations don’t like losing a penny. Honestly I don’t see them winning the case though because it’s no different than let’s say ticket master buying tickets and reselling them. It’s not skip lags fault that the airlines screwed up.

I used to play the system to get into Disney World for free. Did it for about 8 years. They had a hole in their park admittance process and we took advantage of it. We discovered it totally by accident one day at the park.

I don't agree with this one. It looks like a positive idea but when you understand how much money airlines actually make it just sounds pathetic. Cry to the government charging 50% taxes.. yess you heard me right a ticket example Austria to manila 10.000km 15h flight ist 200-350 Economy+ taxes = 400-700 ... the thing is, when booking layover flights the second plane gets pre-booked meaning nobody else can get on because a bunch of people are booking the seats but not actually getting on the plane, resulting in planes being fully booked even though there are plenty of free seats there and then taking off with fewer passengers per flight essentially making the airline companies having to run more flights leading to larger emissions of greenhouse gasses

There is a simple solution - price the direct flight to the layover city proportionately, so it isn't cheaper to buy layover flights and skipping the last leg.
