Do you believe that a Jedi Dooku could defeat Darth Maul?
I do especially when it comes to force powers and Saber dueling it was said in Canon that Dookus skills with a blade went backwards when he joined Sidious after a while plus as a Jedi Master he would be in much better physical shape although still not as much as Maul when it comes to most physical abilities aside from footwork, equilibrium, reflexes, and stamina especially since around TPM Era Dooku was either tied or close to Yoda in blade to blade combat but not above. Plus since this is a one on one fight on even ground and if both fought without talking or taunting Dooku would win more times then not unless Maul gets in a cheap shot somehow or if they rely solely on there physical abilities and unarmed combat skills and in those two categories Dooku is no slouch but still he is no Maul with physicalities and hand to hand brawling yeah.
Well I don't see why Sidious wouldn't have pitted Maul against Dooku, I mean he pitted his future apprentice Anakin against Dooku and he also pitted Dooku against his apprentice Ventriss, so I can say that would've been likely, I mean Sidious pitted everyone against each other durin' the Clone Wars (I mean I hate the Separatists cause the true Separatist leadership was Sidious and Dooku and their associates, Grievous, Ventriss and the Trade Federation, the Techno Union and the Muun Banking Clan), but yeah that's how Sidious operated, which meant he was a real shitbag and probably THE MOST EVIL SITH LORD EVER.
Dooku would've tore Maul a new one.
Personally think Dooku is above sidious as a duelist but Sidious ofc is the better force user
He was definitely skilled, being able to defend against Yoda even if briefly is a major accomplishment
Even Sidious felt in pure one-on-one lightsaber combat that Dooku could probably beat him.

Dave Filoni, the person behind The Clone Wars and Rebels, has said that the song that plays during the Duel between Qui-Gon and Obi-wan vs Darth Maul, Duel of the Fates, its called that is because if Qui-Gon wins the fight, then Anakin doesn't turn into Darth Vader because he get a master that is old and listens to the Force compared to the rest of the council instead of Obi-wan which is more like a brother.
Well Kenobi would've been far from a miserable master with anyone else, but yeah he was severely lacking with Anakin (but in all fairness he did redeem himself somewhat with Anakin's kid by setting him off on the path to become a Jedi and Luke actually redeemed Kenobi by saving his dad and undoing what had been done to him), but yeah Qui Gon would've been a MUCH BETTER master for Anakin than Obi Wan, but Kenobi was still an underdeveloped Padawan after Qui Gon died, so it wasn't entirely his fault Anakin turned to the dark side, for the most part I'd pin the blame on the Jedi Council and Kenobi's rigid commitment to the Jedi Code and the real culprit bein' Darth Sidious using the corruption of the Jedi Order against Anakin and turning him against his friends and loved ones.
He was not the first to say that. One more qualified to make that declaration did.
Considering how Dooku always manhandled Anakin AND Obi-Wan together at the same time at an extremely advance age, Maul, as good as he was, wouldn't have stood much of a chance against a "younger" Dooku. I agree it may have been interesting for the first minute or so, but in pure one-on-one lightsaber combat, only Yoda--at that time--could beat Dooku.
100% agree, in real time the lightsaber fight would have been very quick imo. I think that there are only a select few scenarios that Maul wins here.
PLO coon could beat him in a 1v1 and sometimes mace did when they sparred. I believe this could have been much closer then most think maul had a style that dooku never fought and maul doesn’t get the credit he deserves as a duelist he won against qui-gon and obi wan but gloated and got cut in half because of it. I doubt he would do anything but fight to win against dooku because it would be clear that he was extremely good.
Palpatine would’ve never considered having Dooku as an apprentice if Maul won his fight on Naboo.
In Canon that is true yeah Maul before his crippled state had a higher potential then Talzin and debatebly Sidious own it was only after Mauls failure that he saw Dooku as apprentice material Dooku had a lower potential then Maul but his current power sets were higher at the time that and Anakin was on Sidious radar for the future to be his possible final ultimate apprentice before his beating on Mustafar yeah.
@@matthewmann8969 Also in a canon comic Sidious tells Vader that Maul was a loss and Dooku was just a placeholder, so Dooku never meant anything to Sidious but Maul did.

At this point Dooku is one of the few who could best Maul in a one on one fight on even ground as far as force powers go at that point another that would be able to replicate it would be Yoda, Mace, And Sidious and maybe Plo Koon yeah.

Plo koon would definitely beat maul he bested today in sparing. I think obi wan and anakin are the time of rots could beat maul 1 on 1 too

Most likely, especially is he is the master to Anakin Skywalker. He would become a roadblock to his grand plan.
If Dooku would be able to commit to it or not would remain to be seen though.

What if Cin Drallig killed Anakin in the temple
What if anakin was piloting before attack of the clones and sensed ventress fall to the darkside as her master died and took his ship to the planet to investigate. Perhaps starting a romance as they are very similar in their stories.
Also what if ahsoka taught ben skywalker as she saw him as history repeating itself.
What if anakin was a jedi watchmen or wayfinder.
What if anakin went with kenobi to face maul and savage instead of adi gallia.
What if anakin fell in love with luminara or your own version of aayla secura romance.
What if oppo rancis trained anakin.
What if anakin met and fell in love with ventress just before the clone wars just after her masters death.
What if anakin became a jedi sentinel like a watchmen or one of those who find younglings.
What if evan piel became a mentor or second master to anakin.
Or anakin became a healer either before or after his mother death could be related to his friendship with offee or alternatively what if he was trained by tra sa who taught windu and actually did not forbid attachment as shown by her relationship with tholme , they could become like a pseudo parents to anakin and train him away from the temple in azati martial arts and from trasa the living force as she is a plant lady so imagine anakin controlling plant life.
I think Quigon can redeem Dooku.

What if anakin was found by jedi belonging to another sect like corelia or those nomadic jedi who allow attachment.
What if anakin went to dathomir in revenge of the sith to search for ways to save padme.

With Qui-Gon still alive Dooku would still help sidous but stay on the light side and Anakin would get the proper training he needed and he would stay on the light side
Yeah, I think in this case Qui Gon would become Sidious’s main target. Maybe through the use of Bounty Hunters or General Grevious.
I don’t think he’d be able to rely on Dooku to kill Qui Gon
Maul would've died the instant Dooku saw the red blade pointed at Qui-Gon. He wasn't just vastly superior as a lightsaber duelist but had a way deeper understanding of The Force. I very much doubt there would've been a duel at all, actually. Sidious broke the agreement and that would be enough for Dooku to understand that the sith couldn't be trusted as much as the jedi had fallen way too deep in ignorance and arrogance. I dare say not only Maul would have died as Sidious would also have been exposed and dealt with. Dooku was a wild card and Sidious apparently was the only one to recognize that quite soon
considering his feats and what plagueis said, he could pull it off.

I think this is the likely outcome if Dooku fought Maul at this point. I disagree that Sidious would want this fight to take place at this point. Dooku is still close to 70 at this point and about 10-15 yrs older than Palpatine. Maul on the other hand is 22 yrs old and has so much more potential than Dooku. I think before the discovery of Anakin Skywalker Maul was IT. He was to be the apprentice, the other dark lord of the sith. Dooku despite his skill and power was more of an associate, a useful tool who became an apprentice out of neccesity.
That is definitely true that Sidious saw more potential in Maul than he did with Dooku.
Had it not been for his master, I don’t believe Dooku would have been a part of the plan at all
Yeah in Canon Mauls potential surpasses that of Talzins own which is one of the reasons Sidious took Maul as a apprentice had Maul not been crumbled up horridly and there was no Anakin Nor Rey then Maul would of stayed as Sidious official apprentice yeah.

What if ahsoka and anakin crash landed on bendu's planet. Also what if darth vader joined thrawn in meeting the bendu and went on a spiritual journey back to the dust ball tatiotene.
Dooku would wreck Maul
Dooku would have taken Maul apart. He was a much better duelist and was FAR more powerful in the Force. Maul wouldn't have a prayer against Dooku and would have had even less chance against him as Tyranus.
Also Maul WASN'T aware of Sidious's plans, he didn't even know Sidious's true identity as Palpatine. He knew a rough outline of the Sith Grand Plan needing to happen, but not HOW that was to take place or his part in it. Maul was potentially being planned to be discarded as early as the Battle of Naboo so that Dooku could take his place, the same way Tyranus was planned to be discarded once Palpatine saw Anakin.
Maul figured out Anakin was to be Sidious's new apprentice only after Dooku's death in the last days of the Clone Wars and even then, he didn't have a clue about Order 66 or his Master's true identity as Maul himself states, "I was not privy to my Master's plans...but now I see."
I would Definitely Have loved To really see a Duel Between Darth maul Fighting Doku And Quio gon jinn on Nabbo.

I think Dooku would after stabbing Maul he would see that Maul is still not dead and he would cut his head off or he would finish Maul with Lightning (as Dooku wasn't really a Jedi anymore he would kill Maul knowing he is too powerful to live)

quick question - what mic do you use and what do you suggest for a good budget mic? I love your sound quality and want my videos to be like yours lmao.
For me I use a DJI Mic which is a bit pricey. But trust a LOT of the audio quality comes from mixing.
If you use Premiere Pro, I use the Parametric EQ effect, Multi-band Compressor, and Vocal Enhancer effect. Those usually work nice if you tweak the settings to match your mic

I used Resolve for a bit in my time editing! Fairlight’s Parametric EQ effect is pretty good if you learn that there.

Realistically the duel would be over in less than 10 seconds. Dooku is leagues stronger than maul
Dooku could use sith lightning whereas maul couldn’t so he was clearly superior in terms of force powers; and when it comes to lightsaber combat, well, it’s not even close. Dooku was one of the best duellists in the order before he fell to the dark side; bested only by Yoda and matched only by Windu.

Maul would lose if he fought one on one on fair ground with Yoda, Dooku, Mace, Plo Koon, And Sidious in Canon during TPM Era yeah.
It´s almost to easy to answer: Dooku would make Maul his toilet paper. As a Lightsaber duelist he´d already destroy phantom menace Obi Wan and oc Qui Gon in seconds. Maul is just a pushover compared to Dooku. In attack of the clones Dooku is already 10 years older and he still bodied Anakin and Jedi Master Kenobi rather easily ( he had some difficulties against Anakin at some point but the gap in experience showed early ). Maul is no threat to Dooku. Dooku wins no diff.
CANON: If you pit TPM Dooku against TPM Maul while Dooku has the superiority with force abilities he mastered telekinesis in all its aspects, force shields, force barriers, force senses, force healing, tutiminus, force lightning, beast control, force reflexes, and more the top of his class even before he became a sith and probably with Saber skill since he either tied and or defeated a superior duelist in Windu and was a near equal to Yoda in Saber skill as a Jedi too it would appear Maul has the better quos with physical abilities and unarmed fighting yeah. I think Dooku would win one on one but it would not be easy it would be easier then his fights against Windu And Yoda but still a challenge yeah.
@@matthewmann8969You actually have a point in some ways there. As an addition to that Maul is fighting a very aggressive style with an unusual weapon so he´s pretty much hard to predict plus the Sith were thought to be gone for a long time so fighting a Sith Lord after 1000 years of peace may pose a problem for any Jedi. But I´ll stick with my hypothesis that Dooku would defeat Maul very quick bc of his powers in the force and his adaptability in Combat coming from his long years of experience and vast battle IQ.
Even if Maul had survived Naboo in one piece Sidious would have still needed a political figure to put the Separatists together. Maybe Gunray but I don't think Gunray could have pulled it off. So it is actually fortunate that Maul was defeated since now Sidious could use Dooku as both.

see this is what makes dooku a buffoon in canon he was mad at the jedi for not taking qui gon seriously when he said the sith returned and even tho he was mad at palpatine for qui gons death he also hated the jedi for it for not sending more members when he could of went himself (i forgot if the part of him being mad at the jedi for qui gons death is canon) but my point still stands instead of dangling around on coursaunt he could of went with qui gon to naboo but for some reason chose not to, i know he was conflicted with joining the sith but i mean come on thats your padawan that u claim to care deeply for be there for him.
edit: side note- dooku is also the same man who is mad at the jedi for serving the senate instead of the people when he is literally serving a man who is telling him the important parts of his plans including his plans with the senate he is manipulating. buddy is literally helping the man who is causing all of his problems but gets mad at his friends for helping the problem instead of fighting against it and dooku is worse as he is directly contributing to the main problem while the jedi are just idiots who got too comfy in the republic, thats like being mad at germans for serving a government killing jews at the time while u serve as hitlers main servant as a jew it just doesnt make any logical sense

Why are we all acting like Maul VS Dooku is a solved equation? Everyone seems to think Dooku stomps Maul, but if that were true then the whole plot of Son of Dathomir wouldn't have happened. Maul fights both Windu and Aayla Secura at the same time in that comic. Windu, the same guy who BEAT SIDIOUS fair and square.
When Sidious fights Savage, he's toying around, but come down to 1v1 with Maul and he has to get serious. Look at his face, notice how Maul lands a kick on him. Sidious doesn't end it with his bladework. He creates distance and resorts to the force. Maul certainly performs far better than those three Jedi Council masters did.
In the Vader comics Sidious compares the two. He says that Maul was a genuine loss, whereas Dooku was just "a proton torpedo."
Even if you still think Dooku is stronger, you have to at minimum concede that it's not a landslide stomp like people seem to think.
Jedi Master Dooku And TPM Maul are not as powerful as they became later on and at this point Dooku would be the more powerful of the two and probably the more skilled Saber duelist but Maul has the superior physical stats and hand to hand combative abilities I am talking there Canon selfs plus in Canon Dooku even as a Initiate was able to best people in Saber duels even ones older then him and more experienced as well as in force duels so this would not be Dookus first rodeo for one on one fights plus Dookus curved hilted Saber is a better choice of weaponry then Mauls double bladed lightsaber yeah.
What if darth vader went to darthomir to learn. New suit or perhaps more unique powers.

Definitely the most mislead Sith Lord. Sidious saw true potential in Maul, and Anakin, but never Dooku.
@@starwarsjaylonIn Canon that is factual but in Legends he saw more potential in Dooku And Anakin then he did in Maul as did Plagueis who saw Dooku as sith material should Sidious not go as planned while he only saw Maul as a top tier assassin which is still high praise but not as high as being a sith lord and or sith master yeah.

Darth Maul from the Phantom Menace would would beat Dooku at any point in a similar fashion to the way Anakin beat count Dooku in episode three
Nah 1. Dooku is not as old here and is more physically fit then he was in ROTS. 2. Anakin defeated him with help from Obi Wan at the beginning not by himself this is a one on one fight no teaming up on opponents. 3. Dooku nor Maul were as powerful here as they became later on but Dooku at this timing was the more powered up of the two sparring evenly with Yoda with force powers and lightsaber skills. 4. Maul is not a Top Tier Form Five User and even if he was I doubt at this point that would overcome The Count much now Mauls physical abilities and unarmed combat would be helpful but he would still lose it would not be as easy as many think but he would still lose to Dookers at this pointer yeah.

Maul really could beat dooku most don’t give him credit for how good he was as a duelist especially when he was young. If you read the book on him you’ll know that his master believed he could beat him in a saber duel coming from sidious that was not likely to be a joke. Also maul with all his limbs at full potential is more powerful then sidious he even tells Vader that maul was a true loss and dooku was just a pawn. Maul beat qui-gon and obi won soundly in a very bad situation for him in a 1v2. He could kill dooku 1v1 it’s a awesome idea for a fight the only issue is sidious was afraid of his potential so didn’t train him advanced in the force Jedi dooku had better mastery with less raw power in the force but still very high. The biggest factor is maul likes to gloat in some of his duels dooku would for sure kill him if he played around at all I think 6 out of 10 times dooku wins and if maul isn’t messing around it becomes much worse for dooku full potential maul beats dooku almost every time he was just as obsessed with the saber as dooku mostly due to sidious not wanting to teach him alot with the force but also because maul is a savage and liked killing with the saber. IMO one of the most nightmarish Sith Lords if he reached his full potential like dooku did.
Maul is good even around that time but still not on Yoda, Dooku, Mace, Sidious, And Palpatine level with Saber contest or the force Maul would be slightly above Plo Koon which is a definite high tie but still not The Big Three level but Maul would still give them a great fight due to his physical abilities and unarmed combat yeah.

In the comics, Maul was much stronger than Dooku and defeated him. Then tried to revolt against Sidious but lost.
Not exactly true. He was able to capture Dooku with the help of his Mandalorian Deathwatch. He never actually defeated Dooku in a straight up duel.
And plus this is when both were less powerful in the force yet Dooku is heavily implied to be one of the few who is more powerful then Maul around TPM Era in Canon yeah.@@StevenZissimos
