Palpatine knew Luke would go on to become the greatest alien milker in the galaxy
I’ll milk your alien 👽
Grandmaster milker!!!! Joke Milkwalker My pronouns are he/they/who/him/hoe/milker 😂😂😂
The Disney sequels never happened. 😂
That's the greatest moof milker in the galaxy to the likes of you, show some respect!
The light side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.
I'll never forgive Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson for what they did to Luke and Mark Hamill. They took the man who threw his lightsaber away in the face of Palpatine and made him a depressed nephew killer cuz he "had a bad dream".
I 1000% agree!
If you want to solve a problem, you don't do it looking forwards but looking back..
I don't believe they were entirely at fault and Disney had their own version of Vader and Sidious pulling the strings
I feel worse for Mark Hammil out of anyone involved in the movies. Mark always embraced the Fandom and had a good spirit about it compared to Harrison. I'm sure Mark was very excited to reprise his career defining role only to have it ruined to "subvert our expectations". We expected a good movie.
Expectations subverted 👏
Mark even stated he didn’t like the new portrayal of Luke. And that it wasn’t who Luke was.
It’s a disgrace what Johnson did to Luke not to mention the other areas of the franchise he just trampled on, I hate him and I hate watching interviews where you can see his joy at what he’s done he knew fine well what he was doing and enjoyed it whilst he done it, I refuse to watch or support anything he’s been a part of since and I wish him a terrible career of insignificance going forward
Luke: “Your overconfidence is your weakness.”
Palpatine: “Your faith in your friends is yours.”
Luke: At least I have friends.
Faith in yo momma

Palpatine ........
@@dogsoldier8187what was that !?!?!
Darth Vader: it is pointless to resist, my son
He had Anakins power, but more importantly, he had Padmes heart ❤️
Such a great comment
Underrated connection to mother
Owen and Beru don’t get enough love
Yes sir! Padme and Luke were the only living beings in the universe who thought Vader still had good in him. Luke got that love from his mom.
And Ben's control :)
Palpatine told Vader that Luke could destroy them both after he blew up the first death star.Palpatines fear of Luke has been known since the original trilogy came out.
Palpatine groomed Anakin, who was unstable and easy prey. Luke lacked his father's weaknesses and inner demons and had no emotional or mental ties to Palpatine.
I don't hear enough credit going to Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru for this. Wonderful parents!
Luke was strong in the force just like his father. But most importantly Luke’s love for his father was powerful as well.
And his friends. Luke was unwilling to let go of hope. No matter what happened
@@JscottSears which is why his portrayal in the disney flicks was utter bs
@Demiurge13 💯. They did that on purpose to destroy his character. It's very obvious and why I didn't bother finishing that run of movies. But loved how Filoni and Favreau redeemed him in their series....
@@JscottSearsI like what they did in their series yea, but the sequel trilogy still happens so it's all for naught. Besides, Filoni proved what a hack and yesman he is to kathleen kennedy with the other seaons and shows, especially Ahsoka. No Luke anywhere, as if that would really happen
@@Demiurge13 Unfortunately. She (Darth Kennedy) holds too much power. Even with losses in revenue, they can't get rid of her! YET!!!
He had his father's power, and his mother's wisdom. His sister got the explosive temper.
I mean, Luke could have quite the temper too.
Oh I need a Darth Leia
Problem was Luke didn't have a Jedi's wisdom hence he tossed his lightsaber
@@brianstrutter1501nah, he had a true Jedis wisdom and that is WHY he tossed his Saber, signaling the he wouldn't be turned and would rather let himself die than kill his father, a huge act of compassion for his father that no doubt moved the needle for Vader to return to Anakin. Anakin was selfish, but to see his son perform a selfless act for him put a metaphoric crack in his armor. Vader was resigned to his fate but conveyed it in a remorseful way, Luke needed to show him the path to redemption. It was a gambit that Luke knew he would win, because he saw the flicker of light that was the soul of Anakin where Palpatine only saw the tortured soul of Vader. I'm sure Luke hadn't planned for it to escalate to that point going in, but trying to sway Vader with words was getting him nowhere. Once Luke threw his Saber down he knowingly put himself in a situation where the good in his father would HAVE to come through if there was any left.
@@c.j.echave Also it was character journey. First movie he mainly used the blaster. By the third movie he was full lightsaber and didn't carry a blaster. By the end of the third he didn't even need that to win, because the lightsaber never made anyone a Jedi or Sith.
Luke had a loving father figure so Palpatine couldn’t manipulate him by means of being a friend and father figure like he did with Anakin and Luke always knew that Palpatine was evil, they never had a bond that Palpatine and Anakin had. Luke had all of Anakin’s strengths but lacked Anakin’s biggest vulnerabilities.
Anakin was basically heartbroken and discouraged by his best friends, his wife, and the Jedi. Luke, on the other hand, Luke was respected by his friends and Jedi. He never had a issue with anyone and never felt manipulated or betrayed.
@@TheMail518in a more philosophical sense; Luke represents the Re-birth of anakin, Vader represents all of anakin's weak points. Padme died in childbirth and when she died, Vader was truly born, when Luke and Leia were born. Luke carries with him, anakin's legacy. Anakin was the chosen one, but did not realize the prophecy by himself, he was only able to with the help of his son. Because Luke was alive, a small piece of anakin's soul was alive as well, which allowed him to come back; if only for a moment at the end.
I mean there weren't many jedi left to respect him but facts
Tbf Palpatine wasn’t hiding anything when Luke met him.
Anakin was always a whiny little mama's boy, Luke was raised by his aunt and uncle in a stable environment. Palpatine never had a chance to manipulate Luke, and chances are Luke would have looked up how his mother died after finding out Vader was Anakin. So he would have realized Palpatine manipulated Vader and would have prepared himself to face the Emperor, that's why he seemed so detached when he surrendered to Vader in Return of the Jedi.
I’m glad you brought up how Sidious made that suit for Vader. He was still afraid of Vader too, even as Vader became his right hand, he wanted to keep him in check as well.
Sith's lifestyle and aspirations is a 'bitch on a leash's game of power. :P
@@sobreaver Bane’s a bastard for changing up the rules of the Sith 😂
Palpatine knew that living under the Rule Of Two meant that to live by the sword also afforded a significant chance to die by it as well, so sought to blunt said metaphorical sword. However, you have to shsrpen a sword to make it cut, and Luke was the stone that would achieve that.
This is incorrect. He felt no fear. He did not hold Vader back.
He wants the chosen one, why would he hold vader back?
He doesn't. He can amp from feeding off others anger fear and hatred
Vader could have overthrown him anytime he wished, he didn’t want too because he felt palpatine was all he had left he only started plotting when he discovered luke. Luke was more than just a apprentice to Vader he was hell bent on ruling the galaxy as a family. Although Luke’s presence slowly Brought Vader back to the light due to love and care for each other.
Palpatine, being a scholar of the Force had to know of the prophecy of the One to Bring Balance to The Force. It could easily be argued that while Vader did indeed end the Emperor's reign, Luke was the one who brought balance within Vader. Tempering his anger and power with compassion and protectiveness of his son.
anakin destroyed both the jedi and the sith, thus bringing balance
The hilarious part is that, according to this version of the story, had obi wan and Yoda thought about maybe not letting Luke keep the Skywalker name, neither Vader nor the emperor would know who he is lol.
They would just figure it out later if Luke encounters Vader for a long enough period Anakin will begin to sense something familiar about him and starts asking questions Luke will say you killed my father Anakin Skywalker and Vader is all like I’m your father.
Leia: "I know. Somehow, I've always known."
Skywalker was a common surname in that universe. Expanded universe explains that.
True. If Vader couldn't sense Leia was his while TOUCHING HER there was no way he would have known Luke without the last name. And if they didn't tell Luke ANYTHING about Anakin, which you think they would have for security purposes (Imagine a 12 year old Luke asking people in town about his father. This would have happened) Luke wouldn't have hesitated to cut Vader down. Emperor or not.
I don't think Lucas really intended Leia to be his sister when he made the first movie.
Aunt Beru: ...he has too much of his father in him.
Uncle Owen: That's what I'm afraid of.
05:12 - 1 reason : Unlike Anakin, Luke had direct tutoring, care and compassion from both Yoda and Obi Wan, who had themselves developed a greater understanding of the dark side following their exile.
For Palpetine, Luke was now a very dangerous advisery.
He had a much stronger willpower greater resistance to the dark than Anakin ever did and swaying him was going to be MUCH HARDER
And then they ruin Luke in the sequels.
Thats not canon thats disney.
Don't worry...some of us are working on an EU-based series that gives the big fat bird to Disney for that sh!t! Our Luke is every bit the BAMF he was supposed to become! Kyle and Mara say hi, too!
The greatest blow the sith ever suffered came from the boy who appealed to his fathers greater nature. Never giving up on him despite his fathers crimes. Leia was also equally dangerous. Vader could never break her will. The skywalker blood is powerful.
Excellent comment!!!
Exactly why TLJ is not canon and should be ignored.
@angeld4442 agree.I don't count disney films as cannon.
Luke is a top tiered Jedi and had two excellent Jedi Masters. Palpatine is a lot of things including being the darkest of the Sith Lords but he is not stupid enough to afford to Not consider Luke a threat
Facts. Like said, he was trained by the only jedi master to counter Sidious greatest darkside atttack, and the one jedi master that beat Vader, beat Maul, and beat Grevious. Luke couldn’t have found better trainers even when the jedi order existed.
@@frankdees507 both Master Yoda and Obi Wan are top tiered Jedi Master
@@DeathScepter They being the last two surviving jedi in an order of 10,000 says it all.
Idk about being the darkest sith since darth Bane created a force/mind bomb that trapped over a thousand Jedi and dark side army after luring both to a cave that amplified the power by several fold. After that the force sphere had the screams of echoes of the dead. Source is from the book: darth bane rule of two
@@bruticus1496 it would be naive to think that Sith are not evil or vicious. Darth Bane did a lot to call him quite evil. Zannah did her fair share, and every Sith after her. Keep in mind the point of Sith training is to became that evil
Vader wanted to turn Luke to the Dark side because he wanted to overthrow Sidious.
bro. yes.
News flash
At the end of Empire I always picture Palpatine showing up when Vader reaches toward Luke and says join me and together we can overthrow the Emperor. 😂 Would be perfect for Robot Chicken.
NO WAY wasnt that like the whole plot
The rule of two.
What did Palpatine really know about Luke as a person? He was able to learn and exploit Anakin's fears. Luke was a powerful but completely unknown entity trained by Obi-Wan and Yoda. Palpatine found one weakness in Luke's attachment to his friends. However, he completely missed Luke's feelings for the father he unconditionally loved and yearned to know all his life.
Makes sense. A New Hope showed that growing up Luke idolized his father. He was told all of his life that his Dad was a hero.
So in the Throne room all of these emotions go through Luke. Ending with Luke throwing down his saber, refusing to kill his father, his hero. And in the end Luke got to see the hero that his father was that he knew from growing up.
Palpatine had likely experienced visions that would have indicated just how immensely powerful Luke would become and that his power would surpass his own. He may have foreseen a possibility that Luke would not only seek to revive the Jedi Order, but to do so with amendments that would eliminate the previous issues that afflicted it's predecessor, namely the following of Revan's philosophy that having loved ones actually strengthened their connection to the Light Side, contrary to the assertions of other Jedi.
Ultimately, Luke would use techniques and ideas that would bring the Jedi back more to the way of the original Je D'aii, who learned both light and dark in balance, thus giving them greater power and dominion within the Force, and Palpatine may well have seen some of this and rightly crapped himself at the concept.
Within the new canon, Palpatine felt no fear.
He did infact have a vision of Luke surpassing him, as a Sith.
Sith Luke killed Palpatine in the vision.
That sith Luke was trained fully to potential by Vader himself.
The great disturbance. It's in esb.
Palpatine can feed off of anger fear and hatred. He wants the most powerful apprentice so he can amp and if need be, essence transfer.
This is a great video. The amount of information and the way things just fall into line, to make that fear palpable in the Emperor. Luke of the Skywalker lineage, Yoda, OBK, involved in his training, Vader discovering the betrayl of Sidious.....outstanding.
Thank you for focusing on what we all truly love.... the story. Not on the current 'celebrity gossip' surrounding what SW "currently is" and what certain franchises are chosing to do with it. Forget them. This video is for the true fans. Let's all just focus on what we love and always have loved about Star Wars.... the story.
Yoda and Obiwan wanted Luke to kill Darth Vader. Luke made the decision, on his own, against the wishes of two Jedi masters, to try to bring his father back from the dark side. And he did.
He did kill darth vader from a certain point of view
He disabled Vader, while freeing his mind & saving his heart! In weakened status Palatine was able to kill him as Anakin was trying to save Luke by killing emperor, by sacrificing himself & putting end of Vader!

Because he foresaw that Luke could destroy them. He says it straight up in Empire Strikes Back. It's not a mystery.
This was such a good episode! Keep up the great work!
It is known that "Fulcrum", one of the Rebellion's greatest assets, was Ahsoka, the former Padawan of Anakin. While we also know that she was "stuck" in the world between worlds around the time of the Battle of Yavin, as far as I am aware, we do not know when she actually rejoined this reality. (It certainly had to have been near, possibly right after, the Battle of Endor.) In any case, I am curious to know what her thoughts were when she first learned of Luke and his accomplishments; putting the kahosh on Project Stardust (quite succinctly), and the redemption of Anakin, to name the top two.
Probably because he knew that he couldn't worm his way into Luke's life like he did Anakin's.
Palpatine was afraid that Luke could use a motion to sway Vader… which he did.
There can be argument made that Vader, when Luke activated lightsaber to strike Palpatine, did not protect Palpatine but Luke, to not fall to the dark side as he did all those years ago ..
I do believe that is why he engaged luke, as he didn’t want Luke in palpatines game, he wanted him to turn but not the way palpatine was planning.
@@DeclanMcCreadie that is the reason why I said "There can be argument made" I based it on body language of Vader, when Luke surrendered himself on Endor and after their discussion. It is speculation but I think it is valid one
.. excellent job on the video.. perfect for a story for naps & bedtime..may the force be with you..
This video was so good man fantastic job!
Legends only The Skywalkers, Abeloth, And The Leia Born Solos had the counts to surpass Sids yeah.
Abeloth is a very interesting case if i remember correctly it literally took the combined power of The Father The Son And The Daughter to banish her
"Luke could not have been trained by two worst individuals for his plans"
Qui-Gon Jin, if he was alive at that time: "Dude, where's my respect?"
Leeme just bump my lightsaber in the air 3 times like a monkey with a pole and he'll not wait for backup and kill him.

Tremendous insight! Well done!
Nicely done video
What Disney star wars fans don't get is that luke Skywalker supposed to have the same amount of raw force potential as his father, George Lucas say it luke Skywalker was never supposed To be the Jake soywalker of sequels
In the sequels he technically has surpassed Anakin in living force abilities, power, and knowledge. It’s just that we never saw THAT POWER by Disney. We only got a “glimmer” of it within the mandalorian
@natesearfoss881 no Disney luke is featless
Sincerely, Luke being a bitter old man full of regrets, after seeing his life's work destroyed by his own nephew and seeing that despite all sacrifices he and his comrades made to free the galaxy of the Empire, there would still be people inclined to support that dark path, to me is be far more understandable than he still being naive at old age. Much like Yoda and Obi-Wan Luke had to overcome his sorrows and come around his own failures and accept that he was wrong, that he isn't the one meant to keep things moving anymore, that his role was to open the door to the new generation. That is about the only thing Disney got right in my opinion.
The feat of power Luke showed at the end is astounding, not because he could project a massive force illusion halfway across the galaxy, but the ilussion was powerful enough that even C3PO, a Droid registered Luke's presence in his sensors, as did all the First Order's walkers and ship's sensors. We never seen a Jedi being able to fool a droid's sensors with the Force before. And with that he shot his legend to unbelievable levels, inspiring a new generation of heroes to keep the flame of peace and justice burning.
But pretty much all the rest of Disney work on the sequels is pure and utter garbage.
@@alsimmonshellspawn6021so projecting yourself across the galaxy isn't a feat? I get Disney sucks but come one he did something
I can admit that not 1 single friend of mine IRL views the Disney Sequels as canon.
Not One!!
Luke was in control of his emotions whereas Anakin was a nervous wreck. Fear the man that has control of his emotions.... Luke saw through Darth Sideous games, while Anakin was clouded by guilt and fear that's what Sideous used to manipulate Anakin. Plus Luke Skywalker like Yoda mastered the art of sith and Jedi, the dark secrets and had a balance, and self-control to overcome temptation and remain a Jedi
This is delightful! I’m falling in love with Star Wars all over again ❤❤❤
Luke was perhaps the fear of the Jedi that Palpatine has always deep within him as this was the last chance the Jedi had returning and destroy the Sith.
Loved this video ❤
The novelization goes into nice detail. There is a passage where Vader observes Palpatine shaking in fear as he is taunting Luke. Palps knows the swing is coming and he is not sure Vader will be fast enough to block it.
That is no longer canon
New canon has Palpatine feeling no fear for many many years
another fun video thanks!~
Luke began as a Guardian and arose as a Consular. Blue to green.
The irony of all of this and why I liked luke so much as a character (and absolutely loathed what they did to him in the movies) is that his greatest strength was always his hope. Luke is literally the most hopeful character in the starwars universe. To the point it inspired everyone around him, even his father. Even when everyone around him was telling him otherwise he never gave up on vader. And in the legend books they lean on that even more, with allowing anyone to be trained even if there was a risk of them turning to the darkside and causing harm later. There was always that hope that him and people around him could over come it. The movie idea of him giving up on a student and even entertaining the possibility of killing him was absolutely ludicrous. And probably the biggest sign that no one who wrote these movies so much as even picked up a starwars EU comic, let along a novel.
Your 10 min video is better than anything Disney came out with.
This was very crucial moment. It was very difficult for Sidious. He had to think extremely fast. Obi-Wan and Yoda trained Luke. Taught him. I didn't knew how much Sidious was afraid of Luke. May the Force be with you too, always😁
Good vid, and of course the emperor was fearful of Luke for all his goading to be "struck down" and trying to get Luke to kill him, the fact he couldn't spend twenty years poisoning his mind and prodding him made the unknown element of Luke so much more terrifying. Adding on that Ben and Yoda trained him added to that fear, and probably had Palpatine fuming over their survival.
exactly as you expertly said he was far more comfortable with Vader due to decades of conditioning hell even before Revenge Of The Sith
he had a very close relationship with Anikan and influenced him a decent bit growing up
it was not a sudden turn to the darkside in reality Palpatine had been training him for this for years
but Luke
Luke was a dude he had literally just met for the first time and could sense his growing power and he knew it would be alot harder to control him then Vader
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 there's also the fact that say.
"Ok Palpatine managed to turn Luke to the dark side."
What's exactly just stopping him from siding with Vader anyways like idk but 99.9% of people are choosing their dad over a half dead old guy they just met.
@@chadflanaganCFC honestly that really is a good point your right Palpatine probably realized at the end this is not going to end well for him even if he turns Luke he's going to side with Vader and kill me
Palpatine played a part in Anakin's life from teenager to early adulthood, but he had no such connection to Luke. Good old Palps held control over Vader through fear, manipulation and anger, while Luke held a stronger connection to Anakin through love, which was in connection to Padme.
Luke naturally had a great ability to adapt to all situations involving the force. He is very gifted in that aspect.
Awesome!
Palpatine likely funneled Padme's lifeforce into Anakin to keep him alive, which part may have also passed on to the kids, but was funneled out after the kids were born rather than before like Palpatine thought
“Oh no a Skywalker I didn’t groom since he was a child”
Great video. One of your best in a while. Probably has something to do with it focusing on my childhood hero, Luke Skywalker. He deserves to have his story, post ROTJ, properly told.
5:19 I made this scene into the intro for one of my mixes about ten years ago.
Beautiful
The power to Make the thumbs up to go from 3K to 3.1K is a power the Jedi wouldn’t tell you
I did not know Vader’s suit was weak to lightning!! What a genius
Cause he had all his limbs and still full of untapped raw potential
Luke lost his family and remained a Jedi.
I use to love Star Wars. Nice to imagine what could have been and taking a trip down memory lane with this video. The foundation was there for an amazing sequel series unfortunately Disney Missed miserably
Luke while being assailed by force lighting cries out "Father!"
This snaps Anakin out of the Emperors Thrall. Suddenly, as if a spell is broken, he's just a normal dad seeing his kid being roasted in front of him. His and his beloved Padmes kid. He suddenly feels that old hurt again that he'd locked away so deep inside and more, what a Father feels for child. Then he does what any real father does when his son is being hurt. He removes the threat. In this case by weathering the storm and casting the Emperor into the abyss.
You watched the movie too then.
Thank you soooo much for this!
I can’t stomach the “non cannon Disney” crap and this amazingly crafted blast from the past video is incredible even by your continuity.
Beauty of a vid
Thanks again, I can’t wait to watch with my son
May the Force be with yo
Luke, like Mace Windu was a Grey Jedi, meaning they could use the dark side without succumbing to it
Basically he’s afraid of Luke because he did not “proceed as he had foreseen.” Lol
There is another aspect at play here, and that is that Luke was absolutely _NOT_ a conventional Jedi. Either Yoda or Obi-Wan taught Luke to "force-choke", or Luke learned it on his own, but he used it against the piggy-guards in R.O.T.J. in Jabba's palace. On the one hand, it meant that maybe Luke had a foot in "the dark side", but more likely, it meant that Luke had already been confronted with his dark-side 'test', and had already made his decision. It meant that he would probably not fail it on the second time, either.
From the novelization of Empire Strikes Back in two different passages: "There is a great disturbance in the Force. We have a new enemy. The Force is Strong with him. He could destroy us. The son of Skywalker must not become a jedi." " Luke you can destroy the Emperor. He has foreseen this." While it is clear Vader knew the Emperor feared Luke's power, it is not clear if he truly knew about the vision the Emperor had.
I can't help but notice that "wary" and "weary" are used correctly around here now. More than welcome! I think Geetsly's and Metanerdz still get it wrong now and then.
He was absolutely afraid. He told Vader himself that Luke could "destroy us." He was never afraid of any of the Jedi during his takeover of the Republic. Luke was a different story, even though Sidious was in control.
He felt no fear in new canon
He was interested
He saw his own death in a vision of a sith Luke
He wanted him as his apprentice
What Disney did to Luke was criminal and they have the balls to make a ray palpatine movie again
👏
Palpatine knew Vader's "ultimate plan" cuz that's EVERY Sith Apprentice's Ultimate Plan.. Palps just worked that into a plan to corrupt, turn an replace Vader with Luke OR get rid of one enemy while also always having a servant either way. While makin his usual calculated risks when it suited him like the effect itd all have on either or both Skywalkers. Just like suckerin basically all the jedi multiple times an ways them years ago
I also think that the force hid lukes presence from Palpatine
Yup palps was so scared of Luke that he waited until Luke was gone before revealing himself again
Very interesting video .
It was kinda obvious back in 1983 when the movie came out but books give more character in head talk to confirm the level of Palp's fear and how and when he started developing it. There were books back then but it sounds like new version has been written updated.
Good episode.
Other people: "Oh no, he's Anakin's son."
Palpatine: "Oh no, he's Padme's son."
Because he knew Anakin like a book, he didnt know Luke
I really didn't really think about this
The son of the Chosen One grew into the potential that Anakin never got to become and even defeated a force god called Abeloth.
Would you do a video on why Luke wore black. One could see Luke wearing gray or khaki. Thank you.
Well... He IS Vader's son 😅, it's the Skywalker drip
Luke was tired and wanted a sit down.

Disney ruined Luke and now people don't comprehend how insanely powerful he ended up being. He's pretty much calm and serine like Obi-Wan but with the raw power of Anakin.

Love this one
Vader: I'm going to give Sidious the shaft and overthrow him...
Luke: You're going to throw the Emperor over into a shaft...

Oh yeah he was trembling with fear as he was making him beg
Palpatine knew that Luke had already met Yoda's stick. It was better than his bacon.
What's the name of the star wars soundtracks your using and can someone give me the link in the replies
i have to say i suspected Sidious was afraid of him in the emperor's room in episode VI
Not true
Well for starters, Luke probably knew not to challenge someone with the high ground.
"Obi-Wan has taught you well." - Vader
there is always a master and a student
Sidious had no idea Vader could be turned back to the light until it was too late as Luke’s love and heart brought back Anakin from the Dark Side and defeated the Emperor by the man he used as a puppet. Sidious was blindsided by his own overconfidence and which became his ultimate weakness. Exploit that overconfidence to your advantage and that will be their greatest weakness and Sidious learned that the hard way. I wish Disney decided to go with the Star Wars Legends material in making the sequel trilogy and decided to have Ray in the far future facing Darth Krate.
