Whether the mother works or not, the man still needs to pay child support. This is a familiar story of husbands having left their wife's and refusing to pay child support. The situation becomes worse when the man gets a new partner, who puts pressure on the man to stop paying child support, and rather spend that money on his new family.

Well you never know what a person is going through,, It's hard for a person to make changes after twenty five years of being just a house wife.. I don't think she's doing it on purpose.I think there's some hidden fears.. She would benefit from a personal life coach herself.. And it's not fifty fifty, It's a hundred a hundred.. Relationships that are fifty fifty don't work.. Everybody putting a hundred percent in makes it last.. I'm sure she went through some real hard times with her husband when he was an alcoholic and living with her.. Like I said some coaching might help her but not judgment that's for sure.

@@vlucidity it does not matter, if she cared and loved those kids than she would provide any way that she could and hustle for them. There are so many ways to make money and over 50% of the people I know not only have full time jobs but also side hustles
@@vlucidityI am schizophrenic, in recovery from substances, i left an abusive marriage and I'm a single mom of two kids even though I struggle sometimes I have enough common sense to put my pride to the side and know that my kids need me enough to at least try to support them the best way I can.

Within a few seconds one thing I can’t understand is how you can be a a stay at home mom when divorced or single. You can no longer live the same life you had, as a single mom, I’ve never relied on my ex for anything monetary besides diapers, clothes, sports, school, lunches etc. my ex paid $350/mo for 2 kids for 13 years. Because you can’t expect to live alone with your kids and not be responsible for your own bills, food and even your half of the children’s expenses.
Now watched it all…dad has to just get a court ordered agreement of support, then not deal w mom, he probably won’t be wonder dad let’s be honest, but mom not teaching her girls and pushing them and herself to be independent. She kept up on her continuing education credits for her licensing but then says she can’t work? Bull! I think mom is more toxic than dad and those girls are gonna need to become self sufficient and grow on their own and get away. Dads angry and emotionally stunted but mom is a professional victim
I was never able to rely on my son's father bc he left when my son was 4 months. I didn't get child support, welfare or any financial help. I worked hard for years to make a comfortable life for us. It can be done ,but as you stated they have to get out there and find a job.

Get a job, mom! At no point in the era that we live in should a woman be dependent on a man! This isn't the 1940s. The dad isn't the only deadbeat. The mom is right up there too.
How is dad a "deadbeat"? He's literally k!ll!ng himself working to provide, and that STILL isn't enough for these spoiled greedy witches. I don't blame him for his attitude in all of this. Mom literally sat there and said she had no ownership, and didn't do anything wrong. Blame her, NOT dad.
Moms worked a lot in the 1940s... In the 50s the SAHMs cooked and cleaned and kept house. This mom does nothing.
That mother basically wants her husband gone but his money to be there forever so she doesn’t have to work ever. She doesn’t have small children anymore, they are basically adults. I hope she doesn’t leach off of her daughters if they become successful. It is sad, however, watching you dad do stuff for another family and not you. That part I get.
Those three women are lazy AF!! When I was 18 until I got married at age 20 I had two full-time jobs and a part-time job! I worked all through high School. I have multiple sclerosis that I still work part-time and I'm 53 years old!! Those two girls both need to get a damn job and his ex-wife is to get a damn job too lazy b***h!! Whether you believe it or not it's hard for a person who's been home that long to make the changes.. A personal life coach would help her to make those changes to get a job.. You never know what someone else is going through

The entire show this woman talked about money, she indoctrinated her girls to say the same and believe the father is there just to make money and support them .Not once did I hear a normal family conversation or affection.A woman who’s refusing to work even though her kids are adults already , it’s a horrible housekeeper ( the house pictures were disgusting), deserve no respect . My Husband of 15 years left me and my three children ( at the time 6, 4, and 3) for another woman. I was a stay home mom also........I GOT A JOB. And YES it was so hard but I kept my house paid off my car and paid our bills. Also I NEVER RAISED HIS CHILD SUPPORT. I decided the kids were mine. The kids did see him when he had time I never said NO but I stopped depending on him.
Also both of these girls should be working at least part time. All three women are lazy........NOTE: you don't work you don't eat!
I feel bad for these girls. Their Mom is definitely worse than the Dad!! One of the girls is 18!! He doesn't need to support her or the Mom anymore sp what is she thinking? How is she going to support herself when kids are grown. Shes going to rely on her kids
I feel terrible for the dad and the lost relationship those kids could have had with him. We obviously don't know the entire story day by day but you can just tell that the mom has brainwashed the kids and blamed everything bad in their life on the father, I mean that's borderline evil. Who knows why, I heard them say the father cheated, who knows if that was before or after all of the brainwashing, but man this whole situation is just sad.

That mother is awful. She looks miserable because she’s being told she also actually has to support her kids. It’s sad that the dad is only being used for money and is also trying to deal with depression and alcoholism. And of course the mother thinks it’s just an excuse. All she needs to do is have a refresher course or enter into a new nurse program to regain her skills. She’s the one with the horrible excuse 😅

@@joywebster2678it's like riding a bike. You don't forget. Especially when it comes to your bedside manner. Also, she said she kept up on her license. She could easily go work in a nursing home, where not much skill is needed, or home nursing going to people's houses for after care type of work, like changing bandages, or certain IV medications.
@missmew3499 As a RN, the licenses for RNs and LPNs don't just require " keeping furrent" there myst be actual practice hours to keep a license active. Somthats whyba refresher course after she NEVER worked as an LPN would be required by her states license.

I’ve worked two jobs so my boys can have whatever they need. I do not blame their fathers for not paying enough. Bc I can and do work. That mom🤨🤨🤨🤨. I’m so glad that Dr Phil is getting help for those girls! Their mom has instilled absolute victimhood and hatred towards men in them. That and being dependent on men at the same time. They have such twisted views on life and relationships at this point. I hope that they are able to break free from the spell that she has over them and learn who they are and what they are actually capable of. And I hope that they are able to restore their relationship with their dad. This could change their whole lives.

Stay at home mom syndrome strikes again. They’re 16 and 18 now it’s okay to leave the house a few hours a day and have a JOB.
Let the house go, get a job and get an apartment. Divorce and get alimony and child support. Go to the food pantry. The mom is helpless and hopeless.
To the daughter's, I'm a mother. And I want to teach you something about life that will be helpful. Do not allow anyone to stop you from living the life you want. What your parents do does not define where you will go or end up. My mother always told me "don't ever give a man a chance to say 'you wouldn't have this if it wasn't for me' " I don't want to talk bad on your mom but she is setting you up for disaster by allowing you and showing you how to pretend your a victim because one man can't or won't do something for you. I just love the fact that Phil's whole attitude changed in the end when she was yapping about her being presented in the wrong light. He read that comment for what it is, and his snappy comeback says everything about how he viewed her remark. I loved that.
I was a stay at home mom for 18 years that homeschooled our six children . My husband found another woman and I went back to school to earn a bachelor’s degree before going back to work as an RN. Their father paid child support prescribed in the final decree. We left our home we built, but I found a house with four bedrooms and three bathrooms that worked well for us. I never tried to make the children feel bad about their father because he is half of who they are.

I LOVE that Dr Phil got those girls working with coaches. Their mom has made them freaking damsels in distress. They have the most negative mindsets and they don’t even realize it, and it’s mostly because of her. This could change their lives if they grab into it. She is the biggest martyr/victim. She even made it about herself when he was talking about then plan of action for them. Fingers crossed that they are able to get out from under her and thrive❤

I’m a single mother. I disagree with Phil. In a lot of instances, we had to work as a team. I had to sit them down and explain that we didn’t make a lot of money for fun things. But that I would always try to keep a roof over our heads, and food in the house, and that I need their help with it. They learned about banking and paying bills. About shopping for groceries and how to plan meals. They are well rounded and have grown into good men. Certain things you can keep from your children. Other things, not so much.
Yeah but I imagine you didn't overly involved them in every minute detail. I was raised by a single mother and it is something I'm extremely grateful for because not once did she bash our dad although she had very good reason to and we knew she wasn't flush with money but we didn't know everything otherwise we would have lived in a state of constant fear. There is a difference between teaching the skills vs absorbed into the thick of it. Teaching a child how to budget or allocate or track payments is not the same thing as, "If we buy dessert today how will you pay for gas to get to the store next week?" and worse guilt trips/ manipulations.
Do not model to your kids depending on a man. It's ok if one parent CAN be at home. My husband of 31 yrs and I have each had periods where one of us could be home or part time because of health issues but we KNEW it was something we chose together and neither has depended anymore on the other, I know, we are fortunate to have each other & have never been rich and have lived paycheck to paycheck at times but always together

I'd love to know why Phil and that life coach aren't GOING IN on that mother. He's got plenty to say to the father but in my opinion, as a mother, she's purposely trying to manipulate them, make them dependent on someone else for life, tear down their relationship with their father and is only concerned with herself and what she can squeeze out of others.

You know, I grew up with divorced parents, and my mother was disabled, but she worked three jobs at a time to provide for us. My father did pay child support, but lied about how much he made so he could pay less. When I see moms like this, I just don’t get it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the dad in this situation either, but when you have children, it is your responsibility to be able to provide for them no matter what. Like I said, my disabled mom worked three jobs to make sure we could have everything we needed. You can’t rely on anyone else including the other parent! That is not a responsible parent.
Did that mother really say she did nothing wrong? She completely denied dragging her kids into adult issues. She is no doubt putting all these bad thoughts about the father in her daughter's minds. She has had 23 years of her husband looking after her and the kids how can she say he is not ill she should get a job herself . And the kids could get weekend jobs to help out some kids pay their own collage tuition . I am really sad they are saying he is not ill.
I have worked as a nanny for the exact the same type of family. The husband had to pay for everything and he had to cook when he would come home from work. The wife was hysteric the same way as this one, feeling entitled to think how to spend money. Husband was also wondering why does she need help when she is at home all the time. She still had troubles cleaning and doing laundry. She put so much work on me and started to treat me as she did to her husband. I couldn't stand her attitude, I quit. But my boss, the husband, could not quit his kids. Poor guy had exact same look in his eyes, as he is about to explode at any time, and on the other hand, completely exhausted of all the work and his wife's delusional whining.

I agree.The mother is teaching these girls to depend on someone else to take care of them.I worked full-time and put myself through college and worked two jobs in high school.She is not being a role model for these young women
This was an episode I would have LOVED to see more of... I love that it was made about the girls and bettering themselves but tools for the parents would have been helpful too. Yes make them independent and self reliant BUT its hard to continue that mindset work if theres poison all around..

That mother is laazzzyyyy, and dreadfully self-centred. She's deluded to think she's the perfect parent, especially when she's emotionally abusing her girls, having them involved in her battles. Also when she won't even get a job, though she's a qualified nurse.
Why keep her quals up to date, when she never intends to use them?
The daughters are caught between two, selfish, and deluded people.
So pleased Dr Phil is getting proper coaching for the girls. Hopefully they can take their own lives forward, despite the toxic environment the parents are caught up in.

Time to work for Mom. Jeesh. You don't have the option of being a stay at home Mom. He needs to pay but your kids will turn 18 and likely still need you financially like lots of young adults, then what? It won't be long
Those girls are old enough to have jobs. The mother is perfectly capable of working and providing. Dr.Phil asked what the girls wanted from their father and it was all money related. The mother is setting those girls up for failure.
Agreed. I'm not excusing dad in any way, shape, or form. I think he's just 1 of many Americans trying to weasel out if work, but these girls are legally adults and need to find jobs.
